StudyChat Japanese FREE - Learn Speaking Listening Game

Ive been a StickyStudy fan for ages I love kanji and I think the iPhone is perfect for studying far better than sitting in front of a computer However StickyStudy only does kanji and some basic vocab One needs phrases and one needs to LISTEN to phrases to really survive when overseas This app really covers phrases well The way they are structured into conversation flows and yet also randomised once they are learnt keeps it real for me Okay the conversations dont always make perfect sense but they are exceptional given the fact that phrases are still timed off spaced repetition Seriously no one studying Japanese should leave this out for a realistic take on Japanese language usage                 Cant recommend this app enough

I learned NOTHING All u do is just tap along the screen and it goes to the next sentence it dont make u say the words or even record them It is a WASTE of time DO NOT DOWNLOAD     A Good Learning SourceNOPE

This is a great and fun way to learn but there is only one option that pops up which is the correct answer and it doesnt help me to learn Fix this please and Ill rate five stars easy           No multiple choice

It could be a really useful tool but there is only one answer given in multiple choice As in whats the correct answer out of the options awell the only possible answer is a     Not quite

I dont know how credible this is The first thing I see is Reading Style romanji           Not so good

Seems like a really great idea to learn conversations in japanese It has really helped me in my studies The only thing is when I forget what phrases were introduced theres no way of finding the phrase Other than replaying the level Maybe a glossary can help Plus Ive noticed that most of the conversations have some type of flirting not all but most Maybe more typical conversations like the weather The describing people one was good              Oh

Can you make a study chat in Korean please                 Korean

But the Guy sounds and talks like a creep Youre teaching people how to creep and that girls are just going to be okay with that The responses for the female are atrocious and dialogue often doesnt even make sense Ive been studying japanese for some time and this is a big loss     This apps not only really creepy

I LOVE this app Please make one for learning French or Spanish This is soo much fun I have been using this to keep my conversation skills in check                 すごい

No audio              Do they talk or is it just words no audio

I love this app I give it 5 stars in hopes that they improve it by letting us see the sentences we learn so we can study them without having to go through the entire conversation over and over in hopes that we see one sentence we want to study Also the art is awesome And overall the app is hilariously educational Thanks                 Great Apps

The idea is great but it falls short I like that it includes all the writing systems and learning by hearing is a good method but it only teaches by memorization rather than true understanding If they included definitions of the words it would improve significantly        Ok

Ive been using this app for about 3 months now and its still at the stage teaching me complements like I think youre pretty or I think youre beautiful Why isnt this app letting me go any further T           Good but still needs some work

How accurate is a teachingstudy app if they dont even have their answers right Excuse me in Japanese is すみません sumimasen They have it written as すいません suimasen Totally wrong So doesnt give alot of confidence for using their app     Huge Error on their preview image

This app as well as the accompanying Scribe really do a get job and I highly recommend them if you want to learn Japanese thank you                 Wonderful

At last some beginning lessons The app kind of jumped in at the lowerintermediate level otherwise and assumed wed perused a basic Japanese textbook at least once before embarking on using this app Very happy with the new graphics as well I wouldnt run this on less than an iPhone 4 unless you turn off the background graphics as they do take a fair bit of processing power with all the retina detail and all This app is a must for all Japanese language learners and all those planning to actually go to Japan and make friends I really recommend this in anyones arsenal of Japanese study tools                 Definitely a must for all Japanese learners

Tried to make it through the first lesson on tenses and just couldnt do it As an earlier review mentioned there really arent multiple choices to choose from so the quiz like format is a bit pointless My bigger problems are with the content There are mistakes in some of the write ups at least in the romaji ie the English representation of the Japanese pronunciation The male speaker is a nonnative speaker his accent pronunciation are pretty grating There are even some rather blatant mistakes in the Japanese itself mixing grammar typically used by women in the sad attempt at a masculine delivery by the guy Case in point ne ore wa ikanakucha ね俺は行かなくちゃ Hey as for me I really gotta go Starting the sentence with ne is sort of feminine Using ore to describe oneself is actually rude and may get you in trouble with a lot of people The verb ikanakucha is the imperative form of the verb to go in other words gotta go or should go but this verb form is also typically used by females Trying to talk tough using a mix of female grammar and rudeness just doesnt come off that well If you were going to say it for real it would look more like oi ore wa ikanakutewa おい俺は行かなくてはAt least then itd be consistent but Id recommend using boku over ore     Not worth it

Please continue with apps for it is very helpful and appreciated                 Great app

This latest update is just what this app needed to make it one of the best Japanese study apps A lot more animations and help screens additional beginner levels for basic adjectives and tense grammar Everything Ive been waiting for The improvements to the learning algorithm are welcome too as I much prefer to spend more time repeating a phrase until it is learnt I really cant say enough good things about it Invaluable for beginners and advanced students alike                 Excellent update

Its incredibly sexist and horrible at teaching you Japanese When you select the tenses practice the only thing the women says is Im going shopping That is very sexist AND a blatantly rude and untrue stereotype Dont buy this app     Dont buy this app

Even though you should be able to go back to the first thing you learned it does not let you Other than this problem it deserves 5 stars              Its a nice and fun app but

Cute idea but not a very good learning tool It doesnt really teach just shows And the free convo us ridiculousit could be built upon It has potential but nothing to entice me to buy the full version        Hm

Im a beginner so Im not sure how linguistics types will feel but I enjoy the breakdowns and content of this app I have used the Rosetta Stone program and find this simple to use app a great compliment to it There are some obscure conversations that keep it lively and fun and core elements to the language as well Overall I consider it a very solid app to be used in conjunction with more thorough practice and application                 Easy to learn in a totally fun way

Then you just have to change it in the settings The bad reviews are from people who didnt utilize the settings feature Its a really funny dialogue and very naturalseeming I have never been to Japan but I feel like this app would almost be like visiting without the expensive flight Lol                 If you want multiple options

Its a great app and slowly moves you forward but every bloody time you move up and get far in the level if you close the app you have to restart from the beginning Please fix this I dont want to do the same conversations over and over I want to continue from the last conversation I completed 3 starts because of this 5 starts if this bug gets fixed           Stop making up start from the beginning

I have a background in Japanese and am just looking for something to refresh and continue my education This app does NOTHING to teach Seriously It asks you to pick the correct answer but the only available answer is the correct one Im pretty sure its impossible to get less than 100 on the quizzes I tested this by just tapping without looking what do you know 100     Tap tap tap without looking 100

This app is well designed easy to use and one that really deserves some recognition This is great for beginner and intermediate Japanese language students This can be used wonderfully to pick up Japanese that is spoken in normal conversation to learn words characters and sentence structure This is a great and intuitive app that I highly recommend I also recommend to get the free version first to see what its like before buying the other conversations individually or in one package                 A Highly Recommended App for Japanese Language Students

Great conversation tool for japanese I have to say I like this app and Im looking forward to more Improvements for this app I suggest to have a list of phrases that is already taught through the conversation so that way people like me can refer back to the list for uses Itll also be great if you had a korean and spanish versions              Great app though could be better
