The Dock needs an update This is it Everything you need to be organized like having all currently running Apps in one dynamic tab with thumb preview of and direct access to each window configurable actions for each button icon like sub menus or open in finder for folders running scripts etc                     The Dock was a really nice concept back in 2001 PDsound

I ve been searching for an alternative to Apple s Dock for a long while I ve tried many and Tab Launcher is by far the best utility app on the App Store and does so much more than the regular Dock It s the best organizer Hands down TL is easily customizable with a great look and feel and works very nicely when using multiple monitors hooked up to a single Mac What sold me immediately is that you can add and move tabs on any edge of your screen s I never did like apps that are glued to the OS top right menu bar and you also have the ability to use Auto Hide if you prefer Apples Dock lacks so many features it seems dated now after using TL This is the best 4 spent and quite honestly I would have bought it if the price tag was 20 To the developers of Tab Launcher well done                     A Must Have Utility Area 50 One

This is an updated review Previously I had issues with the app locking up forcing me to quit out of the app then restart it The latest updates appear to have rectified this issue As of right now the app works exactly as advertised and it s helping me to keep a tidier desktop Exactly what I needed                 Works Great WellofMike

Note This is an updated review after a recent problem that caused Tablauncher to not run was fixed Tablauncher is the perfect complement to the Mac user interface It enables you to create multiple multi tabbed docs that you can use to organize yourself by task I have specific tabs for my art music and writing that contain the files folders URLs and apps that I use for these respective tasks It streamlines my work and helps keep everything in easy reach My eyes aren t great any more so it s a real help that I can adjust the icon size for the icons in my docks to be comfortable for me I have my regulart tabs docked to the top of my screen with auto hide turned on So when I want my tabs I just bump the top of the screen This app also offers two special tabs that I use a lot Running and Windows The Running tab as you might expect shows the currently running apps The Windows tab shows all of the current windows With the Running and Windows tabs it s easy to switch between active windows and apps without having to switch to the keyboard I keep these together in a dock on the bottom of my screen I ve shrunk the OS X dock down to almost nothing because I don t use it much As a result my Running Windows dock can share the space across the bottom of my screen with the OS X dock with no conflict I haven t yet tried Tablauncher s scripting capabilities yet even though I ve been using it for a few years Apparently you can create scripts to automate your regular tasks and assign them to an icon in one of Tablauncher s docks I tried all of Tablauncher s competition and there was only one that was as good And it costs 30 No thannks I ll stick with Tablauncher for as long as the developer will keep maintaining it at the current level of quality                     UPDATED Great app A Must Buy RulonThudpucker

After Updating on 9 30 15 to the new version 2 8 2 all Tab Launcher does is Crash when I attempt to launch the application I ve uninstalled reinstalled Tab Launcher that did not fix the problem as a long time user of Tab Launcher I am very disappointed Hopefully this will be fixed         Update Crashes BigMikeInTexas

This latest update has obliterated my config file I proceeded to reunify my applications with their icons which took over an hour and then quit Tab Launcher Restarted Tab Launcher and my new config had not been saved This app has essentially been rendered useless     Update 2 8 broke my App denisb1

For years I ve been waiting to see this kind of utility appear for OS X I ve used a similar one forgot the name something with Drop in OS 9 Also in OS 9 you could slam a folder against the bottom of the screen and you would have a tab sticking up with quick access to that folder But no dice in OS X until TabLauncher for OS X appeared I know and I ve tried many similar utilities to TabLauncher but they almost all without exception accept only aliases of a file or folder which is fine if that s what you re looking for TabLauncher accepts the original file or folder AND links aliases as well including aliases to applications I consider this application as my most important and most often used utility you can virtually throw anything at it files folders images movies music to store either temporary or permanently You can place the tabs left right top or bottom of your screen adjust the prefs for the tabs color style size etc including the response time for opening and closing the tabs and keep them visible or automatically hide them No more searching for applications files or folders they are right there in the tabs invisible at the edge of your screen named after your own preferences I hope the developer never gives up on this utility because this is a keeper for life No more need for the Dock finally The price is also ridiculously low So far I haven t seen any crashes with this utility in Mavericks on my 2007 MBPro 17                     My best utility in OS X MacPW

Well the Tab Launcher developers really screwed the pooch this time It completely does not work after the first time the tabs are used From then on Nothing I m removing this application due to the fact it is completely useless at this point Developers are suppose to do user testing BEFORE publishing to production Get some developers that know what they are doing     Tab Launcher Update crcarpenter

I ve used objectdock on windows for years and have never been happy with mac s limitation of just one dock this app erases that limitation and has made my experience with mac a lot better                 well worth the price P Pierpont

This app has been incorporated in how I use the operating system on my Macbook Air If offering instructions to someone that never used a computer for example I would say Goto the NET tab at the edge of the screen then left click the Safari icon It s done much more than clean up my Desktop which means a lot just by itself I use Live Wallpaper it is the app I use more than any other while I am working on my computer It is stable no crashes very easy to use and has plenty of options I am still using OS X 10 6 8 and this apps works very nicely with it The price is well worth the easy you ll have in launching and organizing your computer s applications This app would be a great a idea for Apple to incorporate in their future operating systems                     Adopted in my OS X I eat flies

I love the design Highly customizable and has a cool look Adds a bit more personality to my desktop and the features are great I just can t seem to move it from one side of my screen to another most likely because I haven t fiddled with it enough to figureit out and I would like the tabs to remain visible even when I m not using them I tried to turn off Auto Hide but doesn t appear to work It s an intuitive app the more you use it the better you understand how to make it behave the way you want Very happy I decided to get it during the promotion                     Better than the native dock Tori516

I didn t think that I would like this app I reluctantly decided to give it a try But after using it I m pleasantly surprised to see how beautiful and useful this app is to own Strangely the screenshots don t do justice to it When I first launched it the three tabs were on the right side and not left as shown in the screenshot with the transparency level set just right by default It is definitely worth it And yes the color settings do work                     Very nice app Thanks nolinc

I have been following this app and grabbed it today This is a very useful and efficient app for me It looks almost exactly like ObjectDock s secondary dock from Windows environment but with a lot more functions One of the best parts I appreciate is that it has a very small RAM footprint No memory usage spikes I like it Quite customizable too I did not understand why another reviewer could not change the tab color but I did not have any such problems The app provides you tools to change almost every aspect of tabs color font text shadow content and you can even assign functions to tabs to keep an eye on e g follow running apps etc I really really like it Kudos and thanks to Oktoid                     Great launcher assistant You should definitely get this Tarihci

If you re like me you first started looking for an app like this to replace your dock because your dock became too crowded with ever tinier app and folder icons that encroached onto your limited screen space when these icons had to be magnified to be useable From that standpoint this app has at least a couple of major limitations that are not evident from its description here in the App Store You have to go to the FAQ on the developer s website to discover that Tab Launcher is not supposed to replace the system s Dock That s right you will still be stuck with the dock on your screen and it will be competing with Tab Launcher for space regardless of whether the dock or Tab Launcher are hidden The developer s FAQ also reveals that you cannot click and drag a dock icon to move it or even to copy it directly over to Tab Launcher If you already have a lot of icons on your dock like I do and want to transfer them over to Tab Launcher you have to reveal each one in the finder and then copy each one from the finder over to Tab Launcher Then you have to go back and delete each one of those apps from the dock The developer says that these limitations are imposed by Apple Nevertheless I think that if just these two limitations were made known in the App Store description at the outset many people would not want to waste their time or money on this app             Read Developer s FAQ before Purchase OCD Rules

Yeah the Snow Leopard crowd The only advanced operating system from apple to use only one Gig of RAM to function and also a sign of a pending future of our wallets reaching to get to the next level of Chi past Mountain Lion I want to thank this developer for completing the Snow Leopard update on this app The original version of this was fantastic This update was well worth the wait Basically if you use your mac a LOT like I do you probably have a heck of a lot applications to sift through This app is the best possible solution to launching and organizing apps on a desktop Mac Especially for us Snow people who don t have Lion based utilty apps like mission control or lanchpad Not only is this app super cool it is also super clean I hate a cluttered Dock and Desktop and love the fact I can reach any one of hundreds of apps just from a drag and a click Cool                     Nice update for us Snow people Chadwick, SD, Ca.

I use secondbar to duplicate my menu bar on both displays I wanted something similar to clone the dock and this is the closest I could find It s actually pretty great and in some ways it is more useful than the standard dock However I would like to see Option to require a click to change tabs instead of mouseover Option to keep dock centered upon tab change Option to stretch the tabs to fix widths or stretch to display window Option to cause folder clicks to list contents rather than open a finder window of the folder contents like the mac dock In preferences there should be a font button rather than auto launching a font explorer window when clicking preference tabs that allow font adjustment Still a great app 4 stars for now A great way to have multiple docks and some fantastic customization there s just still plenty of room for improvement Keep it up                 Pretty great Still some room for improvement VespaRos

I bought this because it reminded me of a docking program I had for my Commodore Amiga 1200 computer many years ago But after using it for awhile I concluded that Tab Launcher just got in the way When using Safari on my 13 inch MacBook Pro I kept accidently clicking on the tabs while trying to scroll through a web page Also I would sometimes click on the wrong tab while trying to bring up a specific program Bottomline There just isn t enough space on a 13 screen to accomodate the multiple tabs like in the product pictures So will I eventually install it on my new iMac because there is more room Not sure but I may later on I m still not convinced this makes my Macs more productive or easier to use So if you have a small screen Mac this program may not be a good option for you By the way I didn t like the disappearing tabs so that wasn t really an option for me either Overall two stars         At First I Liked It But Now I Hate It Useless and Gets in the Way Ultra Kryptonian

the recent update to version 2 1 came with some great features Thanks to the developers The new open Windows tab is VERY useful however it gets cluttered very easily PLEASE ADD THE ABILITY TO NOT DISPLAY WINDOWS FROM USER SELECTED CHOSEN APPS IN THE WINDOWS TAB This will make the Windows tab FAR more useful and less cluttered by the MANY apps that have hidden or invisible windows drawn off screen or with their visibility turned to transparent or whatever other tricks some developers are using to not display various windows in their apps The ability to select which apps we do NOT want to display in the WINDOWS tab would be very helpful I could also benefit from the ability to right click and HIDE an APP not just a window from the Running apps tab Thanks for your work on this very useful tool thats getting better and better The ability to now add tabs to any monitor connected is very useful                 more great progress some suggestions to the developer Higzer0

I thought after reading the reviews i this would be a great add on to how i use my laptop it is but is depends on the user for me it wasn t try the lite before you buy             Its alright kpat91

There is a lot of improvement needed in the look feel department my main request is 1 that us users be able to adjust where the tabs are placed it looks very awkard having a Notes tab on the center of my left edge and then having a Social tab at the far top corner of my left edge Very weird I ve tried everything to fix it but have realized it is not an option yet         Useful but the Look and Feel needs Improvements ohhsoocutee

I bought this hoping to get better organized What I got was slow to load software that didn t work with other software I had installed Tried like crazy to figure out what it was and it wasn t possible to lose the other software so Tab Launcher was gone The concept is great but the customization was horrible The tabs are ugly no matter how you change them up If you can even change them Tab Launcher crashed a lot when I was trying to customize tabs and did odd things like not let me edit a tab I d just added at all Couldn t even delete it Tried restarting the software and it was still there If you have time and are dedicated to this go for it If not go with something like TopHat Folders It keeps an icon in the tray and is SUPER fast         Very Bulky and Doesn t Work Right all the Time InformationOutput

So I had to reinstall Snow Leopard on my mac and I went to re install my AppStore applications Now I find that I cannot install TabLauncher cos it requires Lion and I cannot install Lion on my office mac Awesome     Stupid phunkidude

Which is all more frustraing when it quietly crashes and I realize its not there when I need it sometime I can appreciate the amount of complextiy this program involves and the crashes are understandable Its a great product with features I couldn t imagine were possible in allowing so many customized options I look forward to the refinement It s so nice that the crashes do not nearly bother me over the usefullness in the current version It always reboots back up with no apparent damages to the setups or any other items                     I Quickly come dependant on it makes filing a breeze Petesweaty

like the fact that the icons will not center in the tab my adobe create suite apps are all on the left not the centered also why is it so HUGE it is about twice the size of my dock as for the fact that you still have to use the dock i used Onyx and had the dock pushed the the bottom left that what it is out of the way hopefully when the update is approved by apple i read that on their website it will fix some of the issues people are talking about                 It s pretty good for organization but some things need to be changed Austen87

This was a great app I used for months but suddenly has no support for Mac OS 10 6 8 If only I could kept the last version that worked in my computer     Stoped working in Mac OS 10 6 8 Excursioner

It functions ok but setup is time consuming and frustrating You have to set each tab s icon size and spacing using sliders which makes consistency across tabs nearly impossible Also tabs don t seem to hold their sizes I have a tab with 4 icons that is 3 times as long as a tab that contains 9 icons yet they have apparantly the same settings in preferences Hopefully the developer does some tweaking to the code and improves the UI because this app has potential             It s decent sabr0sa
