Need to know what drill bit to use to tap a hole for a screw or bolt? Or maybe you just want to drill a thru hole for one. TapDrillTool makes it REALLY easy to find ...
comes handy a body drill should be included otherwise its good for a price           toolmaker designer
I love this app It is better than any tap drill table Ive used in two ways First it has tap drills for an extensive list of both inch and metric bolt and tread sizes Second it allows you to choose a drill for different thread depths The default depth is 65 which is the value that every table Ive used gives But if you need something else its there Since not everyone has run into the concept of thread depth before let me explain why it is good to have these options If a hole was drilled so that the tap cut all the way to the very tip of the V in each thread the thread would have a depth of 100 This is never done because there isnt much strength at the point of the thread V and it is hard on the tap So typically the drill selected for the tap makes the hole a little bigger so the ends of the thread Vs are cut off 65 thread depth is typical this gives a thread that is strong but not too hard on the tap But sometimes it is useful to select a different thread depth In a deep hole for example where there are plenty of threads 50 depth might be fine and easier to cut On the other hand for a real fine thread it might be good to cut at 75 depth to get more bite This app gives you all those options Previously if I wanted a non standard thread depth I had to calculate the drill size myself Another reviewer complained that the app doesnt give the drill size to clear the screw or bolt but its there He just missed it There is one improvement to the app I would recommend if a future version is planned It would be useful if there was a help menu that gave a few tips about selecting thread depth and explained the difference between cut and formed threads to help a user get the most out of the app This could make it useful to a wider audience of metalworkers Overall it is 099 well spent                 Great app
