I love this application It is a great teacher and provides simple exercises I wish there was a way you could have the device show a note and you actually play it on the piano Then instead of a screen you could sit at your piano                 Amazing Application

Three years ago I had just started playing an instrument for the first time and I didnt know anything about music theory or eartraining I bought Tenuto and enrolled in community college I spent hundreds of hours using Tenuto whenever I was walking the dog sitting in waiting rooms lying in bed taking the bus And today I am in the 4th year of music program at major state university and I am keeping up with the kids in eartraining who have been singing or playing instruments for 15 years I could not have done this at all without Tenuto it seriously is responsible for my academic music career and I cant say enough good about how easy and effective it is Regarding that last I have bought literally 20 eartraining and musictheory apps for iOS and Tenuto is lightyears ahead of any of them The others are too slow and you will spend more time clicking through unnecessary windows and buttons Tenuto lets you whip through exercises with a minimum of hassle and interruption It is seriously as close to a perfect app as I have ever encountered                 I adore Tenuto UPDATE Even more awesome

If there werent some very disruptive and consistent glitches Id give this app 5 stars Great for ear training and drilling basic theory helped me study for a college theory placement exam One of the worst bugs is that in the visual drills chord ID note ID key signature ID etc the previous set of accidentals andor notes will remain on the staff long after the question has been answered correctly making all future questions anywhere from infuriatingly confusing to downright illegible Also the chord eartraining exercise thinks a basic major 6th chord is a minor 7th for some reason and major 6th is not a chooseable option in the exercise Fix those problems and its a fivestar app           Buggy But Great Otherwise

I started using Tenuto a few years ago to train my ear to recognize all intervals by ear It was a fun game to play when traveling and before I knew it I could pick out all the intervals very quickly I still use the exercise to keep the skill fresh from time to time and its fun to time yourself and see if you can keep your score high Next Id like to start working on the chord ear training exercises                 Great for Ear Training

As a student of music this app has really helped me grip the essentials of music Before I had the various chords and intervals memorized I depended on this app for all my music theory assignments Its saved my butt several times and has saved me a lot of time during my first year in college My ears and musical mind are much sharper and educated thanks to my investment in this app Worth every penny                 Phenomenal Music Reference App

It was a great investment I am able to study on the go Sometimes you just dont feel like staring at a book or computer screen for hours so this is great to have on hand for a little practice every day There are only two things that I would add One is a way to practice major and minor scales and lastly identifying key signatures is very helpful but I also need practice actually remembering how many sharps and flats and the order on the staff something similar to the reverse keyboard identification Thanks for this app It has been so great              Overall Review

Tenuto is probably the best app on my phone Im taking the AP music theory exam on Monday and honestly I wouldnt be anywhere near able to take that test without Tenuto The exercises are all highly customizable so that you can work the things youre having trouble with There are both written and aural exercises as well as piano and guitarbased ones If you are a music person get this app None of the ones like this are free and I think this is the best one out there                 Great App

I love this app because I can take it on the go I think this is really good for all musicians that want to train I personally use this on my iPad iPhone to memorize key signatures intervals and more I think this app is worth the money if you intend to use it often because it will help a lot                 Good for training purposes

Im an audio engineer brushing up on training my musical ear and knowledge This is really nitpicky but I listen to the ear training exercises with Sennheiser HD 380s and the samples are low quality and could be fixed my putting a simple high pass filter on them some basic EQ I think that it would be very beneficial to have an exercise where you have to click or select all of the notes within a single key such as asking Q D Dorian A D E F G A B C D A cool format is have the prompted scale above in your question section with a corresponding scale below without any accidentals no key signature I would assume for this exercise and below list the musical alphabet linear with the root starting on the left with s above each letter and bs below each letter once an accidental is clicked the corresponding staff above places the accidental in the scale so to have a visual representation the student would have to correct the scale by adding missing accidentals              Great For Training but could be better

Was failing my AP music theory class before I got this app ended up getting a 4 5 written and 4 aural on the AP exam Now Im using is this help prepare for my theory placement exam for Eastman next fall Would recommend and would buy again                 Best Ear Training App on the Market
