Bought it because the abbyy web site lists Hebrew as one of the OCR recognition languages but this app does not recognize Hebrew Would it have been so much trouble to have listed the recognition languages in the description Worthless to me since it was purchased explicitly for work in Hebrew     Disappointed

This actually works To try it out I took a photograph of some instructions from an instruction manual that I had This app actually turned it into an editable text document I havent tried the translator yet but it looks like its going to really work five stars baby                 Amazing

It doesnt recognize images the majority or the time and you cant zoom in to take photos        Not very accurate

Doesnt work properly at all I have tried to take a picture of multiple documents First of all the auto crop feature doesnt work at all I have to manually select the edges of the documents Additionally this app doesnt even find text correctly Most of the time is has a ton a mistakes in the recognized text It always has random characters at the end no matter how well the room is lit The translations also dont work well The OCR is bad the features are mostly a miss and the translations are sloppy This app should be free Anyone looking for this sort of app find a free alternative as this app is not worth a single penny     Most features dont work especially the OCR

I know this app can be used for scanning documents but I use it for capturing text from screenshots or translation One issue I have with the app because of the aforementioned way I use it the app should have an option to launch to camera roll Presently it always opens up to the camera Even if I were going to use it for document scanning I still would be using the default system camera then importing from the camera roll                 Must have for capturing text

i tried several times to read texts when i was far from desktop and it really great doing its job recognition is perfect i cant even imagine so high quality so giving u 5 stars for me its the best recognition app on the appstore                 great

This app is not perfect but compared to everything else I have used is by far the best                 The best app in this category

I love this app Makes scanning my writing my recipes so easy It isnt perfect but better than typing everything I recommend it very much                 Not just a picture GRABS text

looks great at first but cannot even spell and correctly spells it as aiid Waste of money Would never recommend I tried to use it to type up my text book because I do not have an online book and it has failed me and I am out 5     DO NOT BUY

It has not gotten one single item right yet Even if I take multiple photos so it is a small amount of text crop out extraneous photos etc I still cant get it to recognize SIMPLE words like cup Waste of money     Cant even get a simple English recipe right

The voiceover utility works very well with the interface and the accuracy of the skin is incredible for such a diminutive solution I am very pleased with this because it does afford me a much more relaxed way to go about weeding out the postal mail that I do notMuch as I would like to give this app a five for its functionality there are a few minor interface issues that I find objectionable First when you go into the history and delete all the items it Will continue to report the last item as present Only after leaving history and returning back into history is it reported as empty The other issues I find ours that although the buttons are adequately identified they are intuitive by any means I understand that if you read the manual that it may be more readily understood what those buttons are for but it certainly wouldnt hurt to have some coaching information available Now for the good things I am a totally blind user and I find this scanning option to be a wonderful substitute for going to my computer and using the multi function scannerprinter              Billy boy on the South Shore

Its always done exactly what Ive needed it to do and Ive owned this app for a number of years back even before they combined a few other apps ABBYY had out and it was a welcomed combining lol The only issue Ive ever had is that if you grab a bullet list you will sometimes lose a character or two at the beginning of each line Reading two new reviews prompted me to go try the situations theyve listed as bad or doesnt perform to their standards Ill just speak of a few clean your camera lens before taking a pic of a document is the only thing I can think of as to why youre having issues scanning a doc in and it not finding the edges because no matter how I positioned my camera it worked well and if it does miss its easy to snap the lines around the doc Admittedly Ive always used their Fine Scanner app for such No where in the description does it list landscape mode so to dog an app for what you feel limits it is ludicrous That would be better served sending to them as a suggestion I could go on but it would be pointless I just hate to see people leave such ridiculous feedback results because they either cant operate it properly or feel like it should do what its described as able to as well as wash your car and do the dishes because YOU think it should do that I guarantee these people leaving 1 still use this app and once they figure out its been user error they still wont fix their rating Im in no way shape nor form affiliated w ABBYY This rant is just that a rant on how some ppl give u fair reviews If you could check other feedback Ive left for other apps youd see Ive defended a few other apps this same way Bottom line It does what it touts it can do and you must keep in mind that any app that does anything with the camera such as this you might have some type of insufficient results but for me anyway its never been one so horrible that a few strokes of the keyboard couldnt fix                 Works great

Extracting text to store in other formats is a very useful feature Wonder why it needs background refresh though              Very useful for extracting text

Good idea needs refinement 1 cant capture in landscape limiting the amount and format of text captured 2 does not recognize text that isnt perfectly horizontal Not good for hand held application such as a smart phone in real situations 3 cant capture a screen from an open app Easy workaround just do a screen capture Except 2 cant open a saved image unless it is assigned to an album Ive never seen an app do this before 3 doesnt automatically identify languages Not exactly helpful when you are trying to translate something you arent familiar with With some UI modification this app has a chance but as it is theres little I can use it for     Serious limitations

Needs better database support for language support Depending on the document trying to scan it does well or VERY poor If the document is in one language using very simple works this app should work fine otherwise you my have problems As I already stated needs better language support for all language for more complex words science terms medical terms law terms slang etc           Decent app

I do not know what you did in the last couple of updates This program works really well versus just working with errors Shockingly surprised you have an excellent product Keep up the good work                 Works like a charm

It provides an easy to interpret and uickly anywhere I really like the useful utility applications In particular just take a picture of text and instantly edit I can send documents to email sms sharing with everyone Applications can use a lot of features to help translators in the shortest possible time                 Good app

I tried 2 free apps and this one This one works I am using it to convert my printed recipes to text that I can paste on a recipe app Very easy to send the text to myself It has some problems with fractions in recipes like 34 Cup But aside from that its quite accurate                 It works much better than the free apps

Bought the app two years ago mainly for translating Hebrew for graphic designing purposes The description didnt list all of the languages and it was only after I bought the app the Hebrew was coming soon Is coming soon going to be longer than two years App deserves 5 stars from me but not until it has support for Hebrew and other languages Thanks           Still waiting for Hebrew since 2013

Obviously the cleaner the page and the better the photo the better Text Grabber works But often it is able to extract text under less than ideal conditions Suggested Feature Open in more apps particularly textword processing and search apps                 Great OCR

I use it a lot instead of keeping million screenshots and photos of articles from magazines and books I just grab the text and keep it in notes Saves space and and time No hassle with pdfs Just text to notes It is that Simple Thank you                 Helps organizing stuff

After trying out three OCR Apps I purchased more but this was almost perfect 90100 accuracy per page of blue and red text taken on iPhone 6 Plus The others had 6080 accuracy                 Best English OCR App
