The Economist Espresso

Excellent idea and product Very useful However if it doesnt load quickly it gives up and gives you the day priors issue which is not useful I dont understand why they care how long it takes This needs to be fixed           Excellent but

Please fix the problem of failure to login in for subscribers     Need update

I want to love this app but it keeps telling me that I need to be connected to the Internet when I obviously already am It wont let me view new content     I want to love this app

I start my day every morning with The Economist Espresso and The New York Times One apps                 Essential reading

I love to sip on tea and read the daily Espresso in the morning The articles are quick to read and to the point on relevant economic news                 Great morning dose

The only way to make this better would be to have an audio version similar to the weekly edition              Audio please

As a subscriber to the Economist I have enjoyed their newest offering of Espresso I started with the emails and then tried the app The app has a simple elegant interface The fatal flaw is that the app for me is unable to regularly download Todays issue I close and restart the app I click on other issues No dice Im going back to the email version That always gets to my Inbox        Great Info but Poor Package

Would be a 5star because I love the content ease of navigation However most mornings when I receive notification of new issue only previous day will load           Love Content Frustrated AM

The content is perfect for me Just what Im looking for from the economist But I would die for support for the back gesture swipe from left part of screen It always takes me too long to find the button to get back to the story list              Great News Appp

It is rather unfortunate that the daily content of the economist is unavailable due to sign on issues        Sign on malfunction

The articles are definitely of the Economist quality but how come the app doesnt know which articles you have read and which are not Especially annoying when the app is exited and relaunched           Enjoy the article but the app needs improvement

Content is superb as always with The Economist and is included in the standard digital version of the magazine that I subscribe to The app is simple but serves its purpose really well Happy with it fills the gap between the weekly detailed analysis of the magazine and quick daily news to stay up to date                 Great content and app

I can no longer log in after June 2 upgrade I am a print and digital subscriber Seems like this would be an obvious thing to check before rolling out the apparent downgrade does the app actually work     Cannot log in after upgrade

The name Espresso is a clever and accurate description for this product For those who are busy and seldom have the time to sit down and read fulllength articles this app is for you The journalists at The Economist write short and sweet yet informative and eloquent summaries of world affairs for the day For those that are often on the go for work or for those who just want to get to the point and know the most important events in global political economyworld affairs I highly recommend this app I began using this app 7 months ago and it quickly became my main source for news 5 stars hands down                 Cant get enough Espresso

Content cant be updated under wifi connection I have to switch to phone network in order to update the contents and sometimes the content still shows previous days content     Update Problem

I have tried a lot of digital news subscriptions on iOS and a really good daily headline reel has always been lacking for me This is exactly what Ive been looking for and its packaged in a beautiful app                 Perfect

This is the only news app I need right now and it does the job flawlessly Always loads quickly allows swiping to the left to scroll from one article to the next easily and gives me exactly what Id like to know each day I get a notification every morning during the week showing me that its ready to read which allows to me catch up quickly literally while drinking my morning coffee Im not a news junkie and Im extremely tired of what passes for journalism from most sources I just want to get a big picture of world events issues politics enough to understand whats going on without having to devote a great deal of time that I dont have Ive always respected The Economist as a news source but I know I will never get through the full edition every week Espresso may as well have been designed specifically for me as it does the job perfectly My only request please release an iPad app My eyes arent what they used to be and the larger format would be much easier and faster to read through                 Hits the nail on the head iPad version PLEASE

Very poor implementation of news download it hardly ever works so you will be constantly stuck with daysold news because it complains that there is no internet when there is     Disappointing Usability and Internet Fail

Its a great app but I am not willing to pay just for 5 headlines This ought to be free     Cant believe have to pay for this now

Great for a quick view of the days news Can be read in about 5 minutes Only gripe is that occasional connection issues leave me without the days issue Two bars of LTE should be enough to download the couple thousand words and the few images it needs                 Gets the job done

The content provided by the app is great a great snapshot of the big news of the day around the world But the app itself is awful I find that it is working correctly maybe about 23 of the time I frequently get a notification that things are moving slowly and I get kicked to a previous days news It gets so frustrating that I stop using the app for long stretches of time        Good Info Terrible App

I have many news subscriptions but the Economist does a great job of providing all sides without bias Their Espresso app does a magnificent job of seamlessly integrating short articles for that morning cup of coffee                 Just Dandy

This is an easy way to catch the big stories in a compact format I like the short bits after the individual page stories I always check the market and exchange rate summaries but the SP 500 gain and loss colorcoding never makes sense to me              Nice bites

The design is beautiful all you could want much less expect from a daily news app The WSJ and NYT should hire whoever was in charge of designing this app their apps can use some serious improvements As for the content If you are looking for a way to quickly read about the biggest and worthiest stories of the day written by the best this is the app for you                 Beautiful design Invaluable content

Im a printonline subscriber This update logged me out and wouldnt let me log back in Failure to contact The Economist However after about 24 hours I was able to log infor the moment at least Its a terrific app when its working           Cant log in

I really hope this is read by someone at the Economist I am a huge fan I hate giving 1 star The app is a little buggy but overall nice and I love the idea of espresso BUT whomever is editing the content should be tarred and feathered Regularly the content says xyz data will be released today which we think will show What the hell Write that YESTERDAY When you write that like the consumer spending piece today or the employment data earlier in the week you are BEGGING me to leave your app and read the WSJ Cuz they will tell me what WAS RELEASED Seriously Its totally annoying because I do care If your going to not update during the day that is cool but dont then write about content that is specific to that day In a highly competitive market how many articles can you publish that beg people to read a different news source before they just start using that news source instead     Old content
