This app is a must have for the CyberQ I sleep so much better at night knowing that The Pit Pal is keeping an eye on my smoke Set the temps for the food and pit set some min max temperature alarms and get a good nights sleep Anything goes wrong and I get an alert It s a bit advanced to set up but there are plenty of web tutorials to help you out Highly recommend this app                     Must have add on for BBQ Guru CyberQ Ravnwood

So cool to see someone who knows BBQ write an app I have never been more impressed with a 2 dollar app I do not work for them I just bought the app along with my new guru and set it up last minute If you bought a guru this is the app Don t even read farther just get it Why It asks you all about the cook and stores it You can enter meat weather rub and sauce details even free form notes During the cook press on the cooker or the meat and select the very cool drop downs and tell it what you just did I e Added wood added charcoal added water applied more rub The app puts this info into the chronological cook log and builds a timeline You can go back and see that you checked the fire at 3am It stores exactly what you did including other app changes you might make such as target temp settings Pit and temp charts are great Could not be happier Cyberq tips the cyber iq is its own wifi hotspot You can connect your phone the pit pal app directly to it Handy if your cook is in the middle of the woods and you don t have internet or wifi Cyber q Menus are intuitive but The setup was a bit challenging if you want to control over the internet Easy for hotspot and home wifi The challenging internet setup is not their fault Port forwarding isn t easy and working anything over the internet is a stretch goal and not required Once connected to wifi use the web or app interface for configuring not the device screen If you want to set up internet control and have a separate cable modem Remember to port forward on your netgear router and your Comcast cable modem Then test by entering your Comcast router ip as the address of the guru in the app Yes sounds weird just do it Here is the procedure Log into your wifi router find the ip of your guru 192 168 1 xxx Mark it as static so it doesn t change Go to advanced settings and port forward this address enter http or port 80 as the port to forward Note the wan ip of the wifi router It is not a 192 address It should be something different like 10 x x xxx Go to the Comcast cable modem address should be 10 x x 1 for the admin page Port forward the wan ip of the router 10 x x xxx http or port 80 To test enter the Comcast router as the guru IP address Yes the Comcast router address It will forward to the netgear wifi router which will forward to the guru Then disconnect your phone from wifi and it should connect to the guru and allow you to control and watch it from the cellular internet No quit messing with network settings and check the fire Don t forget to log it                     Must have if your Smoker is supported DustinDonaldson

I like it It s fairly easy to set up and it has a good interface Very nice to have the notes from previous cooks etc YES I would pay 2 again Things I would like to be added on future updates I wish Alerts needed to be acknowledged and louder I think I would sleep through the 3AM one quick alert FYI like an alarm clock I would like text and or phone call alerts                     It does almost everything you need Big green egg XL+CyberQ

Wow The ease of setting up and monitoring long cooks smokes while using your BBQ GURU with this app is incredible This app allows you to easily use all of the functions of your BBQ GURU such as keeping the temperature constant and monitoring all three meat probes You can change any of the settings on the fly and it gives you a great red out of the temperature curves of all four data sets throughout the cook I have a 22 inch Weber SMC and the latest BBQ GURU that I use this with The only thing that keeps me from giving it a full on Five Star Rating is because I still cannot enable a Cloud Server and thus review all of my cooks from multiple devices I use my iPhone and it saves them all on that device This very well maybe my issue and not the apps however But if it is my issue it should be an easy resolution that I can t figure out                 If You Use A BBQ GURU This Is Mandatory Lono del Mundo

So far I really like this app I m currently 5 hours and 35 minutes into my first cook with the CyberQ and Pit Pal The temperature is holding steady within 5 degrees of my set point I m also using port forwarding and cloud function so I can check things while at work an or running errands It s all functioning flawlessly so far                     Fantastic app for CyberQ dlegare

I have used this app for three BBQ sessions with the BBQ Guru I like the alerts feature ability to view the BBQ Guru web console notes portion photos temp chart features So me improvements would be on temp chart move legend to top left it blocks the latest pit temp allow view charts of other cooks to compare while BBQ in update initial cook info after starting                 Great app with many good features Cate810222222

Running this app on the iPad Pro It is exactly as advertised an app that is strictly to keep track of minor details in bbq in order to increase consistency For what it is intended it works great Unfortunately on the iPad Pro the app does not adjust with the tilt of the screen it is stuck in portrait mode so that is a major hindrance for those of us that try to use a keyboard to type in data             Good app overall pretty big flaw Cherrollz

I don t write reviews but after using this app and reading some comments I felt compelled to respond I like the user interface It does take initial practice before a cook to see how to use it but once you get it it makes sense I love how it creates an icon for bbq and each meat probe That s awesome I had ZERO issues getting this connected to my CyberQ and it stays connected on my WiFi using Infrastructure No issues Read the instructions on their website I need to test the cloud piece My AT T router is horrible and won t let me NAT my IP correctly so I have to make some changes Two things I would add 1 specifying the port By default the CyberQ uses port 80 but you can change it for a small bit of security I highly recommend adding that option 2 store the database in the cloud I wanted to use my iPad in addition to my iPhone but they are treated as separate db s and therefore cooks and settings could conflict                 Great App D. It doesn t connect to a stoker doesn t read the stoker device pit temps or food temps Does have a web console which connects to the stoker device but the app doesn t communicate to the stoker So it appears that all you do is manually enter your cook information which I could do simply in a spreadsheet     Not sure what the purpose is mdpigroastert

I m new to the Q and was looking for a better way to save my cook logs Pen and paper was just not cutting it This is perfect Would love to be able to go back and edit cook info a bit better list choices for smoker and food would be nice to have a editable option their The photo option is great too but need to be able to access the photo library not just opening the camera only Temp control options are great too love that you can manually add your temps for non controller cookers Love the app Been using for a few weeks now Look forward to future updates                     Just what I was looking for DJ Shane Smith

Purchased this Application over year ago used it one time I find it much easier to use the application that came with my CyberQ temperature control unit This application was a waste of money for me     Buyers Remorse EzHighway

I ve been using this app for over a year with great success I use it in combination with another bbq monitor app The other app allows me to check more sensors and Pit Pal allows me to monitor my cyberq remotely outside of my network and continuously The graph is awesome I do wish it could track more sensors It would also be nice if it had a better alert system that could wake me up if food is done or grill temp is out of range Other than those little things it works really well for its intended purpose Update I recently upgraded from iPhone 5 to iPhone 6s and the app still works well but almost every time I use it and switch out of the main monitoring screen the back button locks up and won t let me get back The app itself doesn t fully crash but I still need to close app and restart it This bug needs to be fixed and app will be great again                 Great app needs an update drjlittle

I have been using this app for over a year and have really liked it The Pit Pal has a good user interface and is great at tracking your cooks I am changing my rating because as someone else mentioned this is 2015 you should be able to export your cook information to XML Excel Word CSV formats I noticed on their website that you can export your data When support was contacted I was informed that this is not available on iOS devices When questioned on what options are available to export the data I was met with a statement of not on iOS devices FAIL I am moving on to another application     Excellent in some areas but lacking in others fairfaxfirefighter

This app has potential but it s missing a couple features that cooks today want to see First the stoker supports more than 6 devices including multiple blowers As someone that uses a single stoked for multiple smokers this app is only useful on the first smoker due to a single pit probe configuration Second it s 2015 Any app like this needs an export ability to send reports and alerts to Twitter wordpress blogs Facebook and more             Social Networking multi pit Anon469

This was great until I got a pop up that said I only get three cooks free and then need to upgrade The issue is I have had 2 cooks not three and tell me how are we really supposed to rate this app after only 2 cooks I think it s a good app in general It s crashed on me a few times and only getting 2 free cooks is a loser for this app Other timers and apps out there for free             2 cooks and done jbhodj
