The Register-Guard e-Edition lets subscribers read their favorite newspaper on an iPad with all the stories, ads and photos shown exactly as it appears in print.
The register guard e edition or replica is really a nice way to read the paper Just as with paper you see and read stories that you are not looking for You see the print ads You know that the editors felt that the stories were worth printing on paper The e edition read on an ipad is a great alternative in this age                     Great paper substitute Woodsman21
I prefer reading the print version please never cut back on it That said this is a handy app for my iPad when we are out of town or the newspaper is delayed                     Handy Eight or ten miles a day
You can t create a subscription nor an account from within the app Dumb You can t even see a sample news paper One tab on the app requires you to log out to leave Are you kidding I don t have a login Dah A really embarrassing app from my local news paper     Terribly Designed Eriptron
Every time I try to use this horrible mess of an example of 1998 design I die a little inside Really I m serious     Utter abomination achinn
The app itself is good but it often crashes if you scroll too fast down or to the next page Please patch             Not bad but needs fixed The real kelvin
The E edition of the Guard is great Love it So easy to breeze though the pages go in depth on articles of interest glance over adds and announcements The app is easy to use to flip from page to page or section to section On my iPad it is quickly reestablishing the local newspaper as my go to place for local national and world news Thank you RegisterGuard                     Great app My time for News
Thanks for the quick fix I m a happy camper once again                     Landscape Aunt Roady
After downloading iOS 7 I noticed that the paper is now only viewable in portrait mode I sent an email to RG customer service who suggested that I call Apple to improve my experience I responded that it s the developer s responsibility to keep apps up to date and that iOS 7 had been in beta since June giving them ample time to get ready Given the lack of updates my guess is they hired a contractor to build this thing but figured they were done with it Broken app poor customer service I m really disappointed in the RG     No landscape mode with iOS 7 COEDude
App doesn t cache pages so every time you switch between pages it has to reload Also missing store ads from Sundays This app doesn t meet my expectations         Not satisfied Matt Lane
No updates in nearly a year and a half Is there ever going to be an app like the one the Oregonian has         Time for a real app VectorZ
I am a e edition only subscriber and I am seriously considering canceling as the app is very unstable and needs to be uninstalled and reinstalled frequently Using the 3rd gen iPad the app is slow pixelates pages that cause you to have to reload very frequently and the sudden crashes are very frequent I have been using this since February of 2012 and I am pretty fed up with this app the RG has lost another subscriber     Works Sometimes Secretmak
Can t log on can t view How messed up is this     IS NOT WORKING Bee hopper
I m a regular subscriber when in Eugene and use the e Edition when out of town which is frequently I have found that I prefer downloading the PDF version to my laptop as I find it a better option even though I would rather use my iPad than my laptop The two suggestions complaints I have regarding this App are 1 When scrolling vertically down a page in the single page Flip view it seems that even a slight deviation from moving my finger straight down the screen will cause it to go to the previous or next page rather than down the page A gesture that is 98 vertical with a very tiny angle to one side or the other should result in a vertical scroll and not a horizontal one I ve never seen this issue in any other app 2 A lesser issue that when finished reading at the bottom of one page and using the arrow button at the right again in single page Flip view it would be nice if the next page displayed the top of the page rather than the bottom             Still some room for improvement FoxFifth
Thank you for fixing the connectivity issue So much better But where are the Sunday comics Not sure why you re leaving out a quintessential piece of the Sunday paper Including the entire paper would get you 5 stars                 Deleted and reinstalled helped Got2bdux
Does not work Not much more to say     Bad app I am kj
I love this app but wish it worked reliably As others have noted it frequently fails to detect the Internet connection although I have found that after two or three attempts it usually gets there Once the current edition is loaded it often hangs for no apparent reason sometimes for a few seconds sometimes for more minutes than I am willing to wait The good news is that when it works it is easy to use and makes access to local news available anywhere in the world I have been able to read the RG in Boston New York and even in Rome Italy             Needs work Elec_man
I m really trying hard to like this app but when it rarely detects an internet connection on the first second or third try it becomes very frustrating I really want to use this app and use it every day but between the inability to detect a network connection reliably and the slow loading of pages even when the full issue is downloaded I would have to suggest avoiding this app and stick with the paper copy until these problems get resolved Note I installed this app on a 1st gen wifi only iPad Your mileage may vary     Frustrating Vanz01
Good to see the RG trying to use the latest greatest technology to deliver the newspaper in new and innovative ways But this app falls short I d like to see the RG take advantage of iOS5 s Newsstand service and lower their subscription rates for electronic only delivery As for the bugs First of all I want to be able to download the day s paper e g in the morning before I leave for work and then be able to view it throughout the rest of the day regardless of whether I have an internet connection or not Even though this app purports to support this mode of operation I ve yet to be able to make this work completely Every time only some of the edition gets loaded even though the progress indicator makes it all the way to 100 I m left with page images that don t load completely and unavailable article text and inline images This mode of operation is simply mandatory for an app such as this Second the app often fails to notice the available internet connection upon launch It says it s unable to connect to the internet even though a connection is in fact available Relaunching the app usually fixes the problem Ideally daily editions should be delivered automatically I don t like having to manually load it which doesn t work anyway before I head out for the day Hopefully we ll see the RG using iOS 5 s Newsstand in the weeks months ahead         Some potential but falls short TK541
Not IOS5 ready slow as can be Free shoot I should be paid to use it     Holy zombie monkeys this app is not worth even free 4thMonkey
