The Register

When you scroll the list of headlines when you release your thumb it acts like you clicked on the article Devs to reproduce you have to release your thumb once the list has stopped moving Very annoying        Annoying UI bugs

I enjoy reading The Register though I think the qualitys gone down a bit in the past year or so Its definitely better to use an app than their web site but this isnt perfect The choice to use a serif or sans serif typeface is a welcome one The decision to replace buttons with plain graphics though is not Consistency among applications is a large part of what makes the iPhone easy to use while experimenting with interfaces is welcome at times replacing existing interface elements which work well with ones which are unfamiliar and harder to discover is not For instance take the menu of sections There isnt one any more so far as I can see There are angle brackets did this copy the Bing interface on which you can press to move forward or backward through a hidden list Where are the tabs the scrollable section list or the section menu All 3 are superior solutions to this Where is the border around the gear icon which indicates that its a button Ill use the app for now but the discomfort of feeling like its not a real iPhone app but attempting to mimic some other interface is likely to reduce the amount of time I spend in it as has happened with other nonnativefeeling apps Seriouslythis just feels wrong           Only OK

Great app for getting the news I care The app is easy to use Caching the contents works out great when the train goes underground The reason of 4 in stead of 5 is the app is too eager to jump into the article happened too many times when I tried to scroll updown the home page              Great app

While I like the layout of the app the news content is very biased against certain companies Reporters seem to have a chip on their shoulder against any large tech firm     Very biased reporting and little fact checking

Crashing under iOS 5 on my iPhone 4 has been fixed with the 11 release Runs fine now It is the Reg You got to love it                 Fixed at last

Give us the ability to comment or at least link to the comments and put BOFH on the main menu and itll be five stars              Four stars for el reg

I use it on the iphone and the ipad You get a good snapshot of the days technology news with humor that adds a great deal to the flavor Best is the iPad followed by the website followed by the iphone The phone is most likely to be available when I have time to read though              Good tool

Will not run at all     Empty black screen TOTAL FAIL

Now only get a blank screen after launching app This used to be a great app What happened     Stopped Working

Latest version helped a bit with crashing however there are still problems with the app under iOS 5 on iPhone 4 More often than not the site wont load All other apps and sites work fine when ElReg app doesnt A shame such a poor vehicle for delivering such great content        All content no delivery

New update full screen crash free and with comments this time one of the best things about the Reg site Cool                 Awesome

After years of ridiculing Cupertino it seems that El Reg has finally decided to join em                 El Reg finally comes to the Jesus Phone

repeatedly crashes no images youre generally better off browsing the site in safari dont take my word for it try it this is actually kind of interesting a mobile app with LESS features than just using the web site whats the point of this thing again     awesome publication bad app

Its sad to see the source for tech news also has the most useless app because it crashes constantly when trying to open it I hope their webpage has a mobile version     Tragically flawed

For one of my favorite tech news sites this app is ironically illdesigned Youd think a news site with so many articles revolving around technology would be able to design a working app Hm Anyway it crashes a lot Particularly WHEN reading the story not during loading which leads me to believe the builtin refreshing ads are responsible Insult to injury Avoid if possible its a headache        Surprisingly not very good

the app keeps showing stories when you simply want to scroll through the list of stories The web version is easier to use     problem with scrolling stories

The Register app stopped loading content for me a while back when I was still using an iPhone 3GS Since then Ive upgraded to a 4S and this app still wont load content Ive made sure Im running the current version They need to fix this     Wont load content

Still have browser based Reg on iPhone but new app is great I can actually see the print and read it I like the options to change text size and screen brightness in the app Well organized Well thought out Im enjoying IT                 bout time Reg got IT on iPhone

Get it Read it                 All the awesomeness of the web edition in an easy to navigate package

The previous bugs made it essentially unusable these are all fixed I love it              Long awaited update thank you
