The premise is great Retain print look and feel with some t3ch options sprinkled in In reality this app is awful I have used it since inception and it just doesn t get enough updates and bug fixes to put up with the junk when all you want to do is read the news For instance daily sign in to check subscription seems to pop up constantly when I have allow signout turned off on the app settings and have chosen remember me on the olive reader login page Sign in page is down constantly and is as of this writing It s great to have to sit though the constant sign in s now only to be denied access to something you paid for because it s broken Edge of screen for changing pages overlaps stories so when you tap on the edge you randomly get zoom into story change page OR a zoom out of story How about some margin around the actual viewable page Comics are haphazardly hi lighted for zoom in Not sure if a program does this automagically or not but bottom 5th of page usually family circus is left out of auto zoom into column view Happens often When special sections are added you will get phantom pages Ie I go to page 2 page 2 renders and then disappears and then page 3 pops up out of nowhere Happens in Sunday papers with extra ad on cover most often Why does The Who system reset when the app looses focus and then gets it back from app switcher No reason to take that long and then throw me out of the article I was in back to top left view Should be better enhanced These bugs have been around forever but no additions are happening Why not make it so if you tap and hold a bio on author pops up with feedback options There are so many interactive updates that could happen with killing the feel of a newspaper Soooo many         Olive reader is awful ThePeterRichards

This is a great app Yes there are a couple of bugs right now repeated asks for login link jumps to bottom of the continued article instead of the top But this is still an incredibly convenient way to read the newspaper whenever we want and wherever we are                     Love reading the paper this way Kelchels

UPDATE Aug 8 2017 Crashes constantly on iPad mini running IOS 10 3 3 And requires me to login repeatedly during a session as I move from one article to the next Super buggy Makes one want to ditch the subscription to the paper but not many decent alternatives Seattle Times you need to tell your app developer to get their act together This experience is so crappy I subscribe to the NYT and Wapost Their apps are orders of magnitude better Even community papers around be me have better interfaces and apps Geeze ORIGINAL REVIEW This is a much better experience than reading the Times in a web browser And way more ecological than getting paper delivered Occasionally the focus unfocus on an article is a little clumsy And it would be nice if you could actually DO the crossword puzzle instead of just read it up close But on the whole I d say it almost makes paying for the online edition worth it I haven t tried all the features yet UPDATE I ve had similar problems with being able to load the latest edition from time to time Not sure if this is an app problem or the content provider The biggest annoyance is when reading articles in full screen mode A horizontal swipe motion of about one millimeter swipes to the adjacent article It should not switch without a definitive horizontal motion It will drive you crazy as it keeps flipping to a different article while you are just trying to scroll down Developers PLEASE FIX Jan 4 2015 Well how about it Do you think you can fix the problem of pages turning too easily The swiping to the next article accidentally when in full screen mode It pretty much ruins the experience of using this app Imagine you were reading a physical paper in a windstorm and the pages kept turning on their own That s what this is like Please fix I had to pay for this subscription you should make it work right         Not so good anymore Whidbey Greg

As others have noted The app keeps asking me to sign in but I never actually have to enter my credentials I guess it is not a fatal annoyance but it takes away from the pleasure of using the app         Love the app wish major bug was fixed Scary Ed

For some reason every time I open this app it now states that I m not recognized and I have to log in When I try to do this it takes me to something called olive reader I then close that and I m now back to the newspaper It didn t really need me to log in but I need to go through this extra step every day         Used to work better Mustang.Bob

Found this app while looking for real news sources sick of news apps just reposting twitter snips I was a current subscriber to the times paper edition Downloaded the app it found my subscription easily and I get full print editions now Including back copies The app is great with digital features overlays to the print like links to pages and article continuations and even an amazing feature to blow up a print article to a digital version for great font and readability just double click Very well written app great simple software                     Amazing app walrusmcd

I really like this app and use it daily on my iPad A new feature would be really nice though Background loading of the paper even when the app isn t in the foreground The Washington Post does this and even downloads the paper when it is available without me having to initiate the download as long as the app is open even in the background                 Great and feature request Matsoncl
