Thyme: A kitchen timer for your culinary arts

First I was going to say what No alarm you can hear Then after reading others posts apparently there is one I didnt hear mine Next only whole minute timing If I have that many timing I want to somehow mark which timer is for what     Not a good kitchen timer

It really is a cooks best friend Especially cant wait to use it come the holidays Wish you could pick your color though I love all things PINK Still one of my all time faves though                 Love this app

As any serious cook knows this is a very useful app I would have given it 5 stars if it gave the ability to name the timers rather than just a visual This would be useful for multiple dishes that may be in the same oven but needing different times I hope to see this update soon Otherwise a great app              A much needed app

I havent used the app yet Im sure its great and bougie But the red dot on the stupid app icon is so distracting Its too bright and makes me think I have a dead pixel on the screen Fix prz Maybe make the dot less bright idk              I hate the red dot on the icon

In the APP store thyme shows up as an app that I can OPEN but there is no icon and clicking on OPEN does nothing The app support from thyme is their Twitter account not a direct email to tech Totally useless     Says it downloaded but no where to be found

easy to use and very useful app for any kitchen lacks some features but overall its pretty good              Useful

I like it Its simple and it does just what it says We need it in an iPad format please              Very nice and Simple

I didnt hear the alarm I would like to choose a louder alarm andor a longer sounding alarm Other than my alarm complaining I am very satisfied with this app           Didnt hear alarm

Ive never written an app store review before Thyme earned a negative review from me for the following 1 Requires all notification options to be active I dont allow lock screen notifications for apps like this Period Uninstalled due to this feature upgrade 2 Alert tones too quiet uncustomizable 3 Multiple alarms not customizable Often one is cooking with an appliance that is not the standard kitchen range Not a bad concept but the refusal to optimize for user experience coupled with the notification requirement made this app no longer necessary for me Shame because I did use it quite a bit before the last update     notification requirements deal breaker

I love the concept This app is very simple to use In addition to the request that have already been made 1Different sounds 2 layout options 3 volume control 4 stop watch 5 customizable labels for cooking etc I would like to be able to use it for other activities and create labels specific to my needs not just customizing label from a drop down selection for cooking Im a teacher and have many situations that require timing different students activities and groups Since Im a think outside the box kind of gal I have a plan in place but it would be nice to be able to customize this to meet the needs in a classroom Thank you Im looking forward to seeing this app evolve              Practical and simple but needs a few features

I love the idea of this app but I found out the hard way that unlike other alarms it does not override the mute switch This is a deal breaker for me Other than that its great           One Problem

Love this app for multitasking cooking events It would be nice to actually name the burner ie Grill rice pasta potatoes Name them temporarily while the timer is going for the actual event           Allow us to name the burners temporarily

This is a very clever and useful idea How many times have you had your stove timer already going and then needed to time something else I love it o Suggestion can the alarm keep ringing until we turn it off There have been a few times that I havent heardnoticed the timer go off and then checked my phone to see that apparently the timer ended a few minutes ago Yikes           Great concept

I have used several timer apps as well as hundreds of other apps but only rarely have I encountered an app that requires turning on its access to Notifications just in order to be able to use it and thats a dealbreaker deleted     This apps mandatory notifications requirement is a dealbreaker

Nice app Love the concept But I find my thumb is always in the way and can see what time especially for 15 minute settings Simply add a left right swipe capability below the circle to solve this           Thumb in the way

You now need sound AND badges AND banneralerts Not sure what the point of needing Badges and Banners are If Im cooking I am likely not staring at my iDeviceSet the timer for dish 1 move on to dish 2 I do not want to turn on notification abilities I do not care for Otherwise it was a good simple timer app     Current version requires certain notification settings

It doesnt have an alarmalertbellding to actually notify you when the timer is done You have to leave the app open and watch the screen for when the timer is done What good is a timer unless it notifies you when time is up     Useless

Its a great app I use it every time I cook something The iPhone 66 Plus update is more than welcome                 Just amazing

Love the timer idea but It would be great if it had a 60 second count around the outside of the circle like they have on the old timers and ability to assign different sounds and labels to each plate And a quick add button for 30 seconds to add additional time like on a microwave I probably wont use it much right now but will keep it on my iPhone for now and see what updates come out           Cool concept but needs a couple changes

The look of the app is awesome and controlling each burner and oven is great Only thing I wish could be changed is the ability to vibrate when an alarm goes off and if the app could ring constantly instead of just the duration of a notification which is like 10 seconds or less and then the app goes silent              Nice timer

I love the app especially at church camp But here lately the sound has been in and out When time is up timer doesnt make a sound Cant depend on it        Sound

I used to love this app It was so simple and so useful But since I upgraded to iOS 81 its stopped working properly The alarm only rings about 20 of the time which has led to multiple ruined dishes Im just going to go back to setting reminders with Siri Such a disappointment     No Longer Works

I have used and loved this app since its inception But since the update the app wants too much access to my phone Really How can a timer really need to access notifications and location to run a clock Deleting a very useful app that I can no longer access because you want to invade my privacy Disappointed     Update screwed App

While the burner and oven layout is cute without the ability to label timers this is pretty much useless to me as I have two ovens        Just okay

If you have a stove with a single oven and 4 burners this is an elegant and easy way to set up to five separate timers for the five parts of your stove visually Thats all it does and it does it well                 Simply Useful

Louder alarm needed Needs to work no matter what app is in front or whether phone is sleeping or charges I overcooked a dish trusting it tonight              Good IdeaNeeds Work

Are you kidding me with this alarm I literally have to put my phone up to my ear to hear the sound And theres no way to increase the volume And it doesnt even vibrate Useless if I cant actually hear the alarm     Fix the alarm

Granted I am older so cant hear as well as you young folks But any other timers Ive used have always been loud enough for me to hear     I cant hear the timer

I just downloaded this and its beautiful simple execution simple and beautifully clear design Notifications could be better maybe I want a different sound for each burner and Id like it if it inhibited sleep on the phone so I could keep the timer up if I wanted to But overall Its beautiful clean and simple well done                 Beautiful and simple

I love using this app when cooking but tend to just use the timer on my phone as it over rides the mute on my phone and I dont need to worry about notifications turned on or not Plus I can label the dishes associated with the timer set     Needs a little work

I like it a lot Thank you Would like to see five enhancements 1 Be able to command Thymes functions by voice ie Set Upper Right forto 5 minutes CancelReset Oven timer Add 7 minutes to beans timer 2 Have usercreated database of preset timers so user can activate them with a dropdown list or simple phrase like Start Cook Pork Roast Timer that would activate say a user created 75 minute timer 3 Be able to personalize the timers with user supplied names 4 Allow user to set the number of visible timers up to ten 5 Have a Stopwatch screen with ability to start say 5 stopwatches at the same or different times              Using thyme with voice

We also have the grill going when we cook that would be a great option to have                 Add a grill timer

Like other have said you can NOT here the timer when it goes off     dont bother

Compared to any other timer available this is useless It has one layout for burners and oven No labels so you know what you are cooking and no changing of the alarm sound It doesnt even ring if you phone is on silent And when it does ring can barely hear it above sizzling food Hope for an update of the app soon with setting adjustments or just forget this app and use your phone timer           Mediocre at best

This app has one job to do and it fails miserably     Awful

Well it looks fine although its probably also not really friendly for sight impaired cooks too but I cant hear this bell unless I have on earphones and am holding the phone in my hand which is not going to happen if I am cooking and preparing multiple dishes to go in and out of the oven or the burners at different times Likely it needs a range of different tones because my hearing loss is all in upper high frequency and I know deaf cooks who cant hear low frequency or midrange frequencies Flashing alarms would be good Many of the other suggestions before me would work for deaf or jars of hearing and presumably most of the comments are from hearing So if they are having issues with sound etc it would be brilliant to bring in other customizable sound options Thanks           DeafHostile

I love the simplicity of the app It has a straightforward design and its easy to use My only and biggest concern is that when your time is up you cant hear your timer going off This needs to be fixed if not the app is useless           Nice but needs some adjustments

Like many who have reviewed this app I like its simplicity efficiency and ability to multitask But also like many others I would very much like the ability to label each timer by the task rather than the burner Not only do I have a sixburner stove but quite often Im timing other things like bread rising icecream churning two items in the oven at once My brain doesnt easily remember which is which short of sticking tape to the phone to tell me whats on each timer              Ability to label timers please

First the simple layout is great and it is easy to set 5 timers The ring bell is too quiet though and you have no option to change it If youre juggling a few different items this is a very handy app Please add an option to specify my own sound and maybe to relabel the burners           Useful but needs options

The app works however it could be so much more useful if you could label each timer and select different sounds           Label each timer

This is such a great idea I dont know why no one thought of it until recently Most ovens come with one timer this is so helpful if youre keeping track of different things              Great App not just for cooking

It does not do seconds Not every thing is timed to the exact minutes therefore seconds are important     Thyme

I get that its supposed to be simple allowing you to just set timers for a 4burner 1oven stove But what its missing is everything else such as those with double ovens or even wanting to put different things on different shelves in a single oven The volume is WAY too quiet even with the volume up all the way And forget about vibrate Actuallly if you have your phone on vibrate and not right side up you wont know the alarm is going off at all It needs a volume switch the ability to add either vibration andor having your flash light up And it needs the option to add more burners ovens and shelves Those are things I think even the most basic app that is supposed to be simple and straightforward should have If they also allowed other changes I would request to have additional sounds have a different way to input the amount of time like the original circle option but also a button to tap which would bring up a key pad similar to the phone dialing pad Those would be nice options too Not to mention background colors        Missing options

Under its current auspices this app would suit better in a wristwatch This app needs to integrate more with iOS 7 Use of a myriad of options available from the iOS SDK that would address requests from its users My needs Accommodation for six burners w two ovens that have shelves plus separate broiler steamer oven bun warmer griddle and fryer w options to change colors sounds volume and us of Siri control        iWatch app

For me this app is awesome I dont have a problem about notifications I think it must be updated and several problems have been fixed Now it worth a 5starto me                 Updated

You can still keep it simple but add options for a couple more burners and 2 ovens Would be absolutely fabulous to be able to time 2 things in one oven as well Seems like a nice and clean app thus far              Great start

Recent upgrade makes it unusable unless you enable notifications All notifications Sounds badges shoe on lock screen If you are a 7year old Use it If you are an adult find something less insulting     Wont work unless you enable notifications

Has a a simple uncluttered interface However without the inclusion of a louder bell or notification sound this app is practically useless You literally have to be standing right at your device watching it to detect when the alarm goes off Until that is fixed this app is entirely useless to me in the kitchen     Unusable without a louder notification

Great idea but I want to be able to turn the volume up on the alarm Way too quiet And label what the alarm is for Thank you              Too simple
