I really like the chance to have this app However I am frustrated with some things A medication will show that it is ready but when I go to pick up the medicine it s not been filled Another thing is the fact that the aromatic calling feature call a day or two after I ve picked it up my meds             Tom Thumb texaslani

App allows me to track when I need to re order my chronic meds meds that I take for ongoing conditions that I typically order in 90 day quantities and then quickly place those reorders I can also show my doctor all of the meds I take including dosage Room for improvement lies mostly in two areas 1 Refill authorizations to obtain additional refills and 2 Communication amongst pharmacies customers patients physicians and more commonly with PBMs pharmacy benefit managers which are companies to whom your health insurer outsources prescription drug management coverage like Express Scripts OptumRx etc They make the rules governing the Formulary which drugs are covered at what co pay formulary exceptions ala pre authorization required step therapy quantity limits and so on 1 Refills authorization from doctor for additional refills My insurance company PBM allows me to refill certain drugs after 70 days 75 since last fill and other after 80 days 90 since last fill The apps refill indicator seems to be arbitrarily set at either 30 or 90 days Since most PBM refill windows 75 of drug used 90 etc it would be useful for the developers to obtain this information from the pharmacy benefit managers with all the mergers taking place we re down to about 3 4 in the US and program this into anticipated refill dates or develop an app protocol interface to do so 2 Improved Communication amongst interested Party s The app allows my pharmacy to text or email me when an order is supposedly ready or when it s time to place a refill So at least in theory a pharmacy customer comm link exists But it s vastly underutilized and with slight modifications could save both customers and pharmacy staff a lot of time of needless phone calls With more and more prescriptions scripts being transferred electronically to improve accuracy minimize script forgery and so on pharmacies should be able to push out announcements to inform customers that script was received a We have received script s from Dr Smith for XYZ medication x mg tablet quantity xx AND i Have med in stock order should be ready on this date we ll contact you to confirm it s ready for pick up ii We have to order additional medication to fill this script We anticipate filling your order on this date but will contact you once we receive the medication iii The script for xyz drug requires PBM pre authorization or has a quantity limit Someone specify pharmacy customer needs to contact prescribing doctor to inform him her of this and to call PBM to get approval to dispense as written or to modify script A software vendor like the maker of this app can extend the API to handle brief form letter like communication of this sort to manage pharmacy doctor communications and replace the piles of faxes sent back and forth between pharmacies and physician offices Unless the prescribed drug is very new and expensive and has lots of alternatives the PBM will approve the physician s request 90 of the time Since the bottlenecks are placed at the pharmacy and doctor office thanks to PBM s it is most effective and efficient if these are the parties to manage basic Formulary exceptions In some cases the Pharmacist can get the issue lifted by telling the PBM that this customer has been taking this exact medicine at this exact dosage for 5 years without incident The few times I ve been privy to my physician or nurse contacting the PBM the issue is typically resolved in 2 minutes Contrast that with the consumer speaking with patient care advocates for hours on end and getting nowhere                 App is useful most of the time Kronco

This has to be the worst app in the App Store It does not even open just crashes The few times it has opened response time is pitiful I could go on with other things that are wrong but it would take too long There is nothing right with this app My wife and I take a lot of medicine and have used Tom Thumb for at least 25 years May have to switch to a pharmacy with a good app Update App performance has improved Fewer crashes but still hangs frequently         Pathetic DMcCortney

I ve been using this app for a year now and haven t experienced any annoying technical issues I like having a list of the meds I take available in the app and it makes it easy to show a doctor exactly what prescriptions you are taking There is also a screen where you can put in all your medical contacts I find both helpful The app notifies you when a prescription needs to be refilled and when it s ready for pickup A very helpful app I recommend it UPDATE 8 2 17 I have been using this app for awhile now When a new doctor asks what meds I m taking I use the app to show them Since I ve been using the app for awhile I m going to increase my rating to five stars                     App is useful Ditchbank Dog

This app is useless but awesome for pranks on your sick relatives that purchase their medications with Safeway owned pharmacies Read all the bad reviews They are all true and accurate The app crashes when you look up your pharmacy it is slow and you can see your battery life go down quickly literally not exaggerating HOWEVER if you call the technical support number provided in the app they will not answer instead they will put you on hold for a minute or two and then offer to call you back keeping your place in the queue If you choose to get a call back you will be prompted if some 800 number is the correct one to call you back at Once you go through the process of providing you non 800 phone number and hang up DON T DO ANYTHING Just wait 1 2 3 seconds and you will be getting that call IF THEY TELL YOU THAT the reason you cannot login to the app anymore or change your password is because they changed the Login Functionality works without telling anyone act surprised don t get mad Remember that the representative you are talking to on the phone had nothing to do with it and is trying his or her best to serve you I have to say that the guy that helped me was really nice and very professional Note I chose to write this review this way in an effort to alleviate some of the frustration that may have prompted you to read the reviews of this app STAY HAPPY Call your pharmacy directly or switch to one with an app that works and that works with your insurance     Useless but StoneCoatDotCom
