I ve been using this app for years and now that I have the hang of it I never start a hike without the proper maps Excellent for determining your location how much ground you ve covered and how much further there is to go                     Must Have Midland1851

I don t know maybe I m just dumb It wants you to download maps but then I have NO idea where they go I can t find anything that has downloaded I also can t use the search feature for anything I ll spend one more day and then if I don t figure it out it s getting deleted     Super confusing VtaJen

If you have to erase and restore your phone from iCloud the stuff from this app doesn t restore So you have to select all of the maps you want to download and download them again Would be nice if the maps I ve saved would save and restore from iCloud Dropbox etc or even if I could restore from a file that I ve exported elsewhere This would have sucked had I gotten out into the woods after a restore and not noticed my maps hadn t been downloaded                 Simple and easy but kwalk14

For basic navigation this app may be all you really need Other navigation applications get a little carried away with accessory features like photo tagging speed logging and social media In contrast this application mainly focuses on just the maps No ads or upgrade buttons Good USGS topo and aerial hybrid maps Import or export data GPX file format You can easily identify and add remove cached maps Each topo tile file is about 2mb and covers about 16 square miles 4x4 The app design is clean and simple Just spend a little time familiarizing yourself with it One suggestion for development is to improve upon management of trails and waypoint flags For example a user can specify the type color of waypoint flags but the type data isn t preserved when exporting to a GPX file all waypoints are shown with a default blue type when importing from GPX Since this type data isn t preserved when exported as GPX it reduces the value of the type edit feature Likewise it would be nice to be able to specify which type of flags or trails appear on the screen to help reduce potential clutter on the map That said this app is still very useful and well thought out I will be using it and appreciate the developer s efforts                 Nice app covers the basics well Rainy NW

I love this app It s easy to use and reliable You can load trails that have been sent to Topo Maps by other people These can be hidden if you don t want to see them I d like to see one enhancement I upload the Topo Map screen shots of hikes I ve done to my hiking group Often the hikes are in the same area so that multiple trails are shown I d like only to show one at a time Unfortunately you only have the option of hiding all your trails via a slide button in the setup the same way you hide all imported trails at once I d like to be able to hide individual trails but I have not found a way to do it                     Great app for recording hikes mtimster

I really like this topo app Could use more detail on the topo map such as buildings and the satellite imagery map is not hi res but for a free app it has some nice features and the terrain shadowing gives a nice 3d effect Can also record and save your own track Nice app for the price                     Very good NorthMI

This is my favorite topo gps app I will happily rate this 5 stars when the satellite maps will work For me they do not load and I cannot download them All the other maps work                 Almost perfect Cynthesis21

This app has some nice features I like the compass pointer on the icon that displays where you are and the ruler is handy couldn t get the import to work on a pc you have to set up a WebDAV client which is a pain I can see the apps directories in windows explorer but when i transferred a gpx file my waypoints didn t show up on the map Other apps out there have made file transfer from a computer to the app much easier Another annoyance on this is once you ve downloaded maps they appear in dark gray squares or circles depending on your zoom level I don t need to visually see which tiles i ve downloaded and it s hard on the eyes It also blinds out the waypoints Also your waypoints are not visible unless you really zoom in then you can t see all of your waypoints if you have several across a large area             It s just OK ksquire

I enjoy topo maps applications And especially enjoy free ones This one took a 15 min Learning curve but it seems to work great after you try each section The measuring distance was easy but I did have some problems turning it off this feature The maps are not overly detailed and that can be a plus and minus I did have some problem with turning on the location feature when I was only using the application I had to turn it into work when I didn t have it open Overall I would recommend it highly and I have a feeling some of my concerns will be addressed in updates                 Just got it JC nickname
