Since the recent tornado season was so deadly 2011 I started collecting apps to track them and inform me so that I could offer better information to my family and friends Some apps track storms in real time This app has some tracking features but that is not its forte Instead this is a VERY educational app that will teach you much of what you need to know when you are out away from tracking data and you need to be able to read the signs that are right in front of you With pictures that show different kinds of cloud textures and formations this app shows you what they mean what they are doing and how to read important info from them which might save your life Ive read a lot of weather books over the years but the charts and text in this are much more up to date I learned things Ive actually wanted to know but didnt know how to ask for example cloud textures I see periodically that turn out to be indicative of tornado formation While this app is more like a class in weather rather than a predictive or tracking radar it is still a very important part of what you need to protect yourself Most apps focus on informing you of current conditions and predictions which is very much needed but educating us about how to read conditions ourselves is toooften ignored and you cant expect an app to tell you everything thats happening around you Thats up to you and this app gives you important information that is crucial to your own role in protecting yourself and your family I recommend this app to fill in the critical gap in your own knowledge which ultimately is the most important part of the equation of self protection in weather situations For actual storm tracking I recommend a combination of several apps including IntellicastHD and StormSpyHD But do not overlook this app which ties together all the other information in ways you wont find anywhere else It could make the difference                 Tornado Chasers is Educational
