Ultimate Ears has designed this SPL tool to let you measure the sound pressure level using your iPhone and iPad. This tool also works with 4th generation iPod touch, but not earlier versions. This App can ...
This app is awesome best one Ive tryed                 Great app
I am an audio engineer and producer I compared this app side by side with a high end spl meter and it was within 1 or 2 db with the meter set on average with slow response This seems to be the most accurate spl meter app out there right now And its free                 Very accurate
Its been almost 2 years It needs to be updated for iPhone 55S and with retina support too           NEEDS UPDATE
I love my ues and its fun to learn more about them Their artists to watch section is cool although they have way more on their website The opening video is cool too                 Rock on
This app could have been really useful if its SPL meter worked with my iPod Touch Instead it just says External Microphone not supported Hmm it might have been helpful telling me that before I downloaded the app The rest of the app has a nice interface but the information is basically useless     Warning Not for iPod Touch Users
Works very well I use It a lot at shows Im running and random events so far I like it better than my other spl meter Will change to 5 stars when they get rid of the video I would just like the app to launch with no adds and then this would be worth buying              Awesome accurate
Ive been a fan of Ultimate Ears for a whilejust saw this app and it seems cool the sound meter is worth it by itself Definitely try it                 very cool
Would be nice if it didnt cause my music on my phone to stop playing every time I open the app in my truck Doesnt matter if Im using Bluetooth audio or the sync wire Is there a way around this cause I wanna know what db my system is roughly producing     PITA
This is a cool little app Yes there is a lot of self promotion but it gives you a great free Decibel SPL meter in exchange More than fair The SPL meter is just as good as some of the paid versions out there Also Im a UE user so I dont mind the adspromos so much              Great free SPL meter app
I am very impressed with how seemless this application is And this is one of the first full landscape apps Ive come across and it runs wonderfully              Great Stable Landscape App
As a musician who plays in a live setting several times a week this is a great app for helping me know if my hearing is at risk for damage A Clean interface and accurate measurements in an app thats free make me wonder how great UE headphones are for Thanks Ultimate Ears                 Excellent
simple and accurate                 great app
It measure how loud sound around you is in decibels and doesnt cost anything Very cool Sure it is otherwise just an advertisement for Ultimate Ears but that doesnt bother me although I do own ultimate ears headphones that I like a lot so I may be more tolerant                 Good free sound level app
Good attempt however this app measured absolute quiet at 34db Obviously nowhere near close to accurate Would be nice to be able to calibrate it        Looks nice but thats about it
It use to work before But recently stopped working with ipnone5     Was working
The instruction in the info page says that you should point the phones microphone towards the sound source It would be a great feature in the future for the display to flip so that its not up side down Other than that I find this app great              Display flip
Anyone complaining about this app reading complete silence at 30 decibels is an idiot The average fridge hums at 40 30 decibels is what ambient noise sounds like App works well and can save someone that needs an SPL meter 60 bucks if you dont need it too accurate Its pretty much just a big UE add but it actually works too              Big Add But Works Well
In total silence its showing that its 43db It does seem to increase proportionately to sound I was wanting to test the best placement for my sub in my media room Oh well     Doesnt seem to be working
The meter is pretty cool It will help me in my studio im sure I often wonder how loud I am mixing at Havent check the rest of it yet 5 stars for the meter tho Thanks                 SPL meter
This app is cool but you should update it              Cool
I use this app all the time its simple and always works Thanks developers                 Goto app
Accurate easy to use and free                 Love it
The quality of this app perfectly reflects the quality of their products in general awesome                 Very good app quality
I havent actually downloaded this app looks to be fairly consistent with what an SPL app does I felt I had to reply to earlier post regarding reading of 40ish db in what reviewer claimed to be total silence THAT IS TOTAL SILENCE Unless you are in a vacuum devoid of air and thus sound you are reading verrrry quiet background noise This is normal or rather a reading that is quieter than most Average quiet rooms will read in the 40s to 50s Also pay attention to the A or C weighting scale A measurements do not register lower bass to give you a closer proximity of what your ears are actually hearing as we all know that the average human ear does not perceive bass as loudly as midrange tones even less at lower volumes C measurements do account for bass energy and will therefore boost the apparent spl reading higher at all volume readings Because I have to submit a rating I will give it 5 stars for now I might feel inclined to actually review this app once I use it later                 Response to SomeNickName1492 review
Used to be a great little app but doesnt seem to play nicely on the iPhone 5 or above     Doesnt work on iPhone 5 or above
Great interface Seems accurate enough getting similar readings from other spl apps But much better interface Options are key turn off intro video Switch between a and c weighting Killer                 Another sound engineer likes
This is really not a bad app just meant as a marketing tool to show people a little about Ultimate Ears The decibel reader works well otherwise useless To me              Learn about Ultimate Ears
Just recalibrated with this and my system has never sounded better For an amateur audio enthusiast this is a great app Even worked well for my sub                 Works great
It is free                 Sweet
Its a useful little app for getting a rough measurement of the sound level but its sad to see that the Quality control department at Logitech doesnt know how to spell decibel Come on even my iPhone knows that decible is incorrect           Decibel
The analog sound meter is great I cant wait to see what other great apps and products UE brings out              Great Sound Meter
Oceans777 isnt a happy camper Ive actually been quite impressed with UEs cutomers service The app is just for fun its not meant to be a precision tool of any sort Plus I think its funny that I see most people complain about apps not being iPod Touch friendly early iPod touches didnt have microphones si how do you think its gonna pick up any sounds Anywho Enjoy              Pretty sweet
I installed the app on an iPod touch 5g Measuring broad spectrum sound it agrees within 12 dB with my sound meter Using a test CD that produces warbles tones across the audible range I found that it cannot measure frequencies below 100 Hz very well Mid frequencies were accurate Beginning at 25 kHz it began to read high by about 34 dB At 63 kHZ it was ready about 58 dB high Response dropped off at 10 kHz and it was reading about 5 dB low Would be nice to be able to do a multipoint calibration at various frequences to improve accuracy In general Im satisfied that it serves its intended purpose              OK for general use
