vBookz PDF Voice Reader

Most of my problem with this app is really more of a problem with my professors inability to use a scanner properly Even the documents that are mostly legible are rotated 90 degrees off and none of it is OCRd When I try to OCR the scans myself Acrobat cant read the words in the shaded margins by the spine of the book so the app then skips the first new word of every line when reading it I wish the makers of the app had allowed for trying it out on our own documents before buying it so I couldve known this before I gave them 5 Hopefully itll work better on journal articles and stuff that were PDF to begin with though Voices arent too bad though Not very robotic but they space the words out strangely so it doesnt sound entirely natural either But if it would actually read the PDFs I needed it to read it would be markedly better than having to sit for hours getting fat while I do stupid school readings           Not as good as I was hoping

I like the app but maybe I havent figured out how to set the voice on mine I do think it sounds pretty digital I can still understand it though and it does a good job reading the PDF I am glad I bought it              Good app for multitakers

Terrible robotic hard to understand voice once youve spent your five dollars It makes reading more difficult actually because the voice is so confusing     Awful

You all need to be honest about this program It is not Free It only reads the first page of your documents And you have to pay 499 for the program Also it does not work on an iPhone 5S at all It will only give you a black screen after you download your language     Very misleading its not free

I can now listen to all those PDFs in my drop box Just find the PDFs export to and bam You just listen Studying Buddhism Makes it much easier Thanks                 Its great

Im a 1L in cleveland OH and this app is extremely helpful in my studies it does have its limits I dont know if its that voice recognition technology isnt where it needs to be in reading back to you PDF files or if its just the way it right but theres frequent times that it reads words incorrectly I do appreciate that you can change the word counter word speed per minute if you will And overall I would recommend this app for most general purposes The price however is a little steep as five dollars per language considering that I do speak to other languages              My review

With this app every PDF is a virtual audio book The app does a pretty good job of dealing with PDF print layout challenges that Siri never has to handle Voices are not as naturalsounding than Siri or Google texttospeech but still expressive not robotic              Great app but some texttospeech quirks

This app is great A lot of apps have a hard time with journal articles and with uncommon terms but this has been ok so far              Great for scientific journals

I like the app overall its helping with getting through my research reading however both the British and US accents have poor pronunciation of f which makes comprehension hard Would be better to be able to highlight and make notes too           Could improve

Just bought 499 what I thought was going to be great app but it just keeps crashing After a file has been opened crashes closing and reopened several times it will start reading aloud but then it crashes and closes Bummed     Keeps crashing

So frustrating Im sick of all the false advertising of apps Waste so much of a persons time     Disgraceful

I just love to be able to listen to whole novels that I get online for free I am currently listening to one in Portuguese to polish my knowledge and my ear with the language It is not perfect sometimes it does not pronounce things just right but still to be able to work around the house for hours listening to a good book that to me is very well deserving of those four stars oh yes                 Love love love this app

this app could be great but depending on the type of document it is fed i have mixed feelings when i am wanting a technical data sheet to be read it is borderline unbearable as the program verbalizes bullet points within context small bullet this is so annoying Another annoying feature is that body text is not prioritized in a way that header and footer notes are read with every new chapter i already know the copyright and trademark year please dont read it every segment otherwise the app does as advertised           Small bullett

I hate reading and this app makes it a lot easier to enjoy reading while listening at the same time Easy to use Has some misread words and doesnt know how to slow down between title and paragraphs but its manageable to adapt to it Other than that its a great tool for all your PDFs and bookstextbooks in PDF format              Great app

I have the app read magician magazines I have subscriptions to I love this app It works great I get to read the magic magazines I get for free with my magic club memberships I have also used it to read short PDFs and it works great with those too                 Time Saver

It is much improved over previous versions The only problems that I have run into are getting it to stop reading and getting it out of full page mode so that I can access the buttons at the top of the window Previous versions used to stop reading whenever they wanted to                 It works great

I got this app to help with my studies as I have to read a lot of material for college and a lot of that material barely holds my attention I recommend this for students who have a tough time sitting down to read It has helped a lot No problems with the app however it may benefit for some smoother voices At times it sounds a little unnatural but it gets the job done              Good app

I purchased this app a year ago I opened a pdf this morning and the app read the first page Afterwards it prompted me to buy the app again Nowhere does it state the app is only good for a year Going with another app     Unhappy

I really like that I can listen to a report while getting dressed or driving to a meeting When trying to put something to memory I can turn up the speed and play it several times Its like my brain on crack I love it Only thing The speaker is not as clear as the speaker Apple uses for the speak option Still very good but if it was the same voice I would be better They must not have the rights to use it The voice can sound a little electronic at times Also moving the mouse or red box can be annoying Over all glad I have it would have paid 10 for it 20 if they fix the voice              Convenience

You really cant tell if the app is worth purchasing since the promo videos dont even give a great example of how well the app reads This free app will only read the first page normally just the book cover From what I heard it seems to read well but Im not inclined to spend 5 test it and then ask for a refund if its not satisfactory           Seems like it could be good

In general this is a great app However a couple of tweaks are needed First and foremost I need a way to display the titles in my library more clearly I simply cannot read the titles of the books and have to tap on each one to see its title Second I cannot figure out how to make it stop reading the header and footer on each page That function is supposedly there but I cannot do it Third I need a way to delete changed pronunciations Otherwise though this meets my needs very well It reads to me in the car while Im driving on my long commute so that time is no longer wasted              Great App a Few Tweaks Needed

This app is not worth the 499 it cost to download The voices sound completely distorted and the speed adjustment helps very little I downloaded this app in hopes of listening to documents as I rad along or completing other tasks while listening and cannot get over how bad the app sound This is a great app in theory but it needs major updates before being considered even average in my book I wish I could get a refunddont risk it     Not worth the

Seems like a great product But DO NOT get the inapp purchase for English It charges you the 499 but does not actually work It continues to want you to purchase again Even though you can log into iTunes and see that your purchase went through Horrible developer     InApp purchase does not work

Not able to sit to read this app reads my PDF docs to me Being able to adjust the speed is handy I like the option to purchase different languages Pausing and restarting refinding where I left off and directing the voice to a new page or paragraph when I want to deviate from logical continuities which the app handles smoothly can be frustrating But all in all app is a super aid to me                 Pretty good app

Total from the heart truthful review I am a very slow reader and this app helps me so much I use it to read me documents text book chapters for my classes and books I am able to get through material fast and retain the information There is one down side is that the app is free but if you want it to read it to you you have to buy the voice BUT IT IS WELL WORTH IT I have had this app for about to years now and it is great It has help me so much in college I can clean or do what ever while it reads to me and it has help me with my grades because I am able to retain the information You can read along so you hear it and see it so it will be ingrained in your mind better even if it is horribly dry information I have had two classes that I have hated because I just did not care it was hard and just boring this app helped me get an A and a B Trust me when I say it is worth it The app has been around for a bit and they have worked out the bugs                 Amazing Great App

Love this app voice takes a little getting used to and it occasionally does odd things mispronounces comma dash rereads titles and page numbers at the top of the page Some of it might be my using it as an audio book But for 5 nothing Ive found in the App Store comes close I use this app to read just about everything great for getting through large amounts of information Does less well at poetry dramatic readings and anything technical with a lot of diagrams Even with the problems you get more then you pay for with this app              Great app
