I picked up this app about a year agao when it was Free or 099 And it worked great This App used to be on my First page of Apps now it is on the last page I live in Chicago so you would think there would be plenty of options Well now when I open the App it always says location Temporarily Unavailable laff And all the categories pull nothing up Please please dont waste your money until they make some major improvements Used to work when it was free

Although the concept is great execution is weak at best On my iPhone 3GS 32 whenever I click on the Nearby Places link the application crashes Doesnt anyone test these apps Waste of money DONT BUY Pure Garbage
This app is incredible its much more accurate than yelp and it has more information than ypmobile Its worth the price get it Youll find things you never even knew existed in your area Take it from me I only live in a town of 12000 and it had EVERYTHING Other apps didnt have as much information If its that accurate for smaller towns its sure be one incredible app All it needs are the phone numbers and I would delete ypmobile Crashed on nearby places but I rarely shut off my phone my memory is most likely full Definitely download this app Better than the rest

Outdated inaccurate sometimes doesnt work at all Also pain that its in km instead of miles but that would be tolerable if it WORKED Waste of 299 Great concept sucky execution
I used to love this app when I first purchased it years ago on my 1st iPhone I gave it 5 stars Now on my new iPhone and after the updates I can no longer search It shows all thats nearby but cannot search by name or category Its disappointing frustrating when youre in a strange neighborhood CEO

First of all there IS a way to change between miles and metric its in the settings menu for the iphone
Aside from that this is a decent app Allows you to find places around you quickly I wish it would give more information about the places it shows say give reviews and ratings etc instead of just the phone number and address that would make this app pretty killer Also the yahoo link at the bottom is pretty useless If this combined with UrbanSpoon the possibilities are amazing Has potential Not there yet

I find it to be useful but it needs hospital and RX CVS locations along with gas stations and librarys What it lists is a good start but for the working and traveling more everday stuff is needed Ill add another star when it earns it Michelle Needs more

Dont buy this app I downloaded this and it would not find restaurants less than 500 yds away I was in San Jose Ca for the weekend and the APP could not find restaurants that i standing in front of Even when i did a search for a named restaurant it could not find it if is was less than 500yds away
When i got home i tried a search for my favorite restaurants It inaccurately showed their locations and distanct Very dissapointing To make this more frustrating i contacted Active Guru for a refund and have had no response other than their automated email response that said thanks for contacting us your question is in the Que I tried to dispute this with apple and they responded saying contact the App provider

Im a paramedic and I honestly cant say I use this app for anything else except getting GPS coordinates to land a helicopter I have no positive or negatives to say about the rest of the functions This app is very accuracte in giving GPS coordinates Its very fast too coordinates pop up almost instantly It has never crashed on me Its much faster than commercial GPS devices A must have for any firefighter or paramedic Need GPS coordinates
1st review of an app ever I live in TX home of oil companies So I I ask for a gas station ANY business related pops up Thats pretty useless Heck I even got a medical supply sales company And the I have found times where it shows one gas station near me and LI and behold I get there and there is a station different brands on each corner So how many gas stations have I missed Wish I could say something better but thats just poor quality control Certainly not worth 299 Useless for gas stations

I travel a lot So I thought this would work well for me And by and large it does However it does miss a lot Im not sure where these type apps pull their data from but I have now downloaded 34 of them They all give different results So now I dont rely on results from any one of them But I take a couple minutes to check them all out So overall Id say this was a nice app But if you are really looking for new places or places that are within walking distance I would get a couple of these type apps and use them all Good if not great
Beofre coming here to write this short review I tried contacting them for help via the app and their website but no one has contacted me Apparently nothing exists in my city according to all of the category views I can only see a handful of businesses in the whats near me section which is just a hodge podge of random listings
Lack of listings categories not working and showing anything and the fact their support does not respond means this app deserves the lowest rating possible Thumbs down NOT recommended Worthless ended up deleting it Waste of money

Once you open Vicinity before opening Maps the Maps wont work correctly One time it put me in Missouri when I was in Coloardo Today the Maps couldnt locate me Both times when I removed Vicinity the problem went away I want my money back Great ideawish it worked well

This app used to be pretty neat back in the OS 2 days when it actually functioned I used to use it almost daily Now as everyone else has said it just crashes Every Single Time Just crashes
I dont think this is a good app It works ok But I was expecting more When you say where am I it gives you the latitude and longitude but not an address This app needs some work Not very good
It looks to me as though they conveniently left the places from their other locator apps out of this one So if you happen to be 3 blocks away from an InNOut burger and you arent using their InNOut locator app then Vicinity certainly wont tell you about it I think Id rather pay 999 for 1 app that included everything than 199 for a bunch of apps that will only clog up my iPhone with icons STAY AWAY FROM THIS ONE BAIT AND SWITCH
