VMware vSphere is the industry`s most complete and robust virtualization platform, offering the highest levels of availability and responsiveness. The VMware vSphere Client for iPad is a companion interface to the traditional vSphere client, optimized ...
The client is very easy to install Those behind a firewall use VPN then run the vSphere client Great for a quick visual overview when you need to glance at how your data center is doing The app needs improvement on 1 being able to see what machines are spiking when looking at the cluster host that may have multiple VMs displaying Either by tap or pinch controls or both 2 either can clone the alarms from the data enter 3 ability to filter out OFF VMs if needed I havent tried any moves via the app as of yet I think this app has a lot of great potential I still have to remote in via my laptop Maybe one day I can eliminate this step with this p              Has good potential
I use multiple types of hypervisors in my environment This application seemed like it had great potential Being fairly tolerant of new code and glitches in the matrix I must say this fell far from my expectations First Too many dependancies period These guys can use web login on the hypervisor itself and yet need multiple dependancies to get this to work Second No clear path of instruction for first time users Third I need a vm running on the server to be able to manipulate vms Come on guys Fourth How about those who only need the one ESXi installation I have no need for the Virtual Center The one thing that I will give the one star for is the fact that it is free Kudos Otherwise this would really be a pain to refund     Expected more from VMware
After more that one year of development this app is lacking basic functionality For a free app it might be of limited use but if you want something with more meat on it try iVMControl which has snapshot and screenshot support vMotion and it runs on iPhone too Whats the point of making an iPadonly app It might be a more useful platform for this application but when you are on the road accessing your vCenter from your iPhone is a lifesaver        Eye candy only
Loss of support for 35 is a major fail     Loss of 35 support is a major fail
Enter IP of server and it hangs iPad Air with iOS 83 Deleting     Piss poor
Solid                 Rocks
Change to my previous review seems you need a new version of the server software Now its working great Good help on the Community forums got me going              Wont connect fixed
This is a great start Hopefully this app gains some momentum and can get more than just community support so that more features can be added Would love to have the ability to have console access to VMs           Great Start
It is sad to see but I believe this application has been abandoned by the VMware team Dear VMware Where is your innovation that you speak of Sincerely Upset Customer     Abandoned
Requires another server it can connect to the same server as the regular client     Lame
I was able to install the VMware vCenter Mobile Access virtual machine and configure it without issue I can log in with the app but I keep getting the following error whenever I try to bring up a specific VM NullPointerException Operation failed Other than that it looks like everything else works Since it is free if you are thinking about trying it I recommend you do so as it may work for you        Bugs
Redeployed a new vcma and things worked immediately Missing features that are already in vcma like vMotion snapshotting etc Console would absolutely rock Problem stop saving password by default at login screen thats just a bad issue thats going to bite someone later At least make it configurable              Great start missing features
I tried to connect my vps server but does not work since applications lack of update     Need update
I was able to get this working with little effort after installing the server appliance component on an ESXi server which this client app uses to reformat the viewable ESXi data to an iPad I like the interface but having minor issues with operation Im unable to reboot or shutdown my guest operating systems from this app and they all have their VMware tools running current versions Having said that this app works great as an ataglance look at my ESXi boxesMay update this rating to 5 stars if I figure out the guest OS interaction issue              Decent app for Status View in ESXi
Freezes at server entry dialog     Does not work
There is a lot that could be done with this app that is not being done Very disappointing in lack of features        Great potential but sub par as is
Before you download remember to install VCMA this does not work like a native client without that It is easy to overlook that requirement Otherwise I would rate it higher since that is a huge pain when you have multiple VCs           Requires VCMA
Nice interface No issue with adding a virtual appliance as a connector One bug I would like to report is the fact that it closes whenever I reboot any virtual machine           Great app but has bugs
What I cant connect to my VMware server But this is a vsphere client Oh it really is just a front end for another piece that need to be loaded on another system So why not just use many of the remote apps available to control a system with a full VMware client Hmmmmmm     Does not work out of the box
This application is a great way to have quick visibility into your VMware farm The interface works pretty well and graphically everything has a crisp look to it Being able to restart and power VMs on and off is very nice as well as similar Host functions In later versions I am hoping for a higher level of HostCluster visibility as well as some additional Host and Guest controls Note I had some problems with the vCMA server at first Those issues went away after adding my VC server to the HOSTS file of the vCMA server              Excellent Ver 1 App
Was going to give a fail based on no custom web port option until I noticed it requires another web server to work It would be nice to have a big warning at the beginning of the description but at least it is in there Not a bad start at all              My bad
Disappointing for an IT company Too much to download install and configure This is simply not worth the effort I can just use the desktop application and SplashTop and forego the senseless obstacle course One star because zero stars is not an option     Not worth the effort
FYI that is how this used to work I havent used this in years then had a client talk about his mobile appliance server and I looked at him confused So dont hold your breath as they used to offer direct control of vsphere from this app with no other server needed and got rid of it in favor of this        For those wishing for a client that talks with esxi
Pretty neat monitor Id like to see SRM info but for what this is it works great Install was fast and setup was easy Look up the documentation and its much easier to get going                 Pretty neat
Upgraded and still getting NPE error on mine        Still getting NPE
Please improve vsphere app like what happend to web client              Update please with more features
Enter ip of esxi host and nothing happens Oh and Settings button does not work either Terrible app needs to be fixed otherwise its completely useless     Does Not work Hangs
How difficult is it to write an iPad app that connects to esxi Dont you people know the protocol An iPad could be a great troubleshooting companion iPad crash cart     Stone Cold Stupid
I also thought this was the only piece to the client I have the vSphere 51 client installed on my Win8 box Id rather use Splashtop to give me remote desktop to that box and use the native vSphere client than this one     Too many hoops to jump through
This app does not work It hangs just putting the management server name in I have an ipad air2 I am surprised at their lack of mobility focus     Dont waste your time
The application itself looks fantastic For one the charting is much better than the thirdparty offerings My only quip is in the licensing vmWare has made their product available for barebones application at no cost which is GREAT There are some features that I would like yet cannot justify such as vMotion Eventually I hope to take the step into a fully supported license Unfortunately there arent any applications shy of a full desktop environment which will control the free ESXi platform Im sorry folks I cant justify 600 per year to have mobile access when Im pitching the proverbial tent I am more than willing to give you money for this product but youre about a 10fold mark over my limit for the utility Keep up the good work and Ill try find a way to step aboard              Too bad for the little guy
I find it hard to believe that VMware doesnt have a better mobile client app one thats available for iPad and iPhone Yes I can look at the status of vms and servers and stop and start them but thats about all Needs to be closer to the functionality of the vSphere client Also find it hard to believe that in order to get this to work I had to download an appliance from a VMware labs web site and agree to a preview license This product and instructions havent been updated since 2011 The instructions were written for vSphere 4 Ridiculous I did get it to work but its hard to believe a company like VMware wouldnt produce a better product VMware admins need one Get with the program VMware           Hard to believe
I have VM Fusion on my mac and using Windows 7 via Bootcamp It would be great to have access to things on the go with this app but I have no clue how to set it up I wish I had stayed with Parallel where its less aggravating Can someone at VMWare give step by step instructions on how to set it up on the iPad Thanks For now its useless without     Instructions
Great to see the NPE bug fixed but would it kill you to have kept ESXi 35 support Some of us cant afford new 64bit hardware much less vCenter so 35 is the best we get Please use ESXi 40 is a nice idea but not always a practical suggestion though Id happily accept a 32bit version of 40 Itd be really nice to manage all the 35 servers as well from home with my personal iPad           1 step forward 1 step back
The mobile app worked well but you just need more real estate to monitor and manage a VI The UI is nice though it doesnt follow VMwares typical UI theme and it connected first shot to my vCMA Thanks                 iPad is much better for VI mgmt than my phone
Does not work it gave 400 bad request error     Does not work
No consoleREALLY NEEDS A CONSOLE Has a few bugs All you can see is Performance stats and logs You can restart or shut down a VM Really nothing I would use at this point           It needs some work
This App has a pretty good UI as a start The Apple iOS deployment rules make developing an app like this very challenging as beta testing by end users is nearly impossible I would like to see more features added in future releases such as console access with datastore media mounting access network editing migration ability via touch dragging Ability to email stats Overall this is a really nice start but it has a way to go           Decent Start
Requires a VM Not a huge deal but other iPhoneiPad apps do not Doesnt sort host list and VM list by name The list defaults to whatever order it finds them I guess Seriously People at VMware tested this and no one thought this was illogical Also why is this only available for iPhone The performance graphs could be displayed by sliding horizontally leftright or tapping the display and choosing which one youd like to view or exit to previous fuction How about a tap on the big host counter to bring up a list of all hosts and tapping on the big vm counter to bring up a list of all vms        Very pretty but
Useless     Doesnt work
Thought I was going to download punch in an IPPassword No such luck and no where does it say I need ANOTHER piece of software Just explain to me why I need a client for the client     That was a waste
I am a Mac user so this app was a great help I was tired of going into my VM just to modify the virtual appliances on my server All you have to do is upload a virtual appliance and make the ip static No other work needed to get this app to work The interface is great and even gives you access to snapshots                 Great app
Please make a version of this app for the iphone     IPHONE
