First it worked fine even voice reminders However repeat reminders could t be fully deleted and I was getting reminders in any random hours Very annoying The app is difficult to remove as it is always running in background You need to uncheck startup at launch remove all its files restart your comp and kill the app then     Annoying Traderalu

This app has always been on time and has been a great program in a reminder of dates and times for things that would slip your mind If I had to change any thing about this program it would not be the program but I would change when I got it I would be loss if it was never mad for mindless people like me                     jotytim Sciencebio

The descrition led me to belive that i could type in a message and the app would read it to me i dont want to record my own voice it says TEXT TO SPEECH REMINDERS         Am i missing something mrbeecee

Specify a date and time on the Remind At tab that the reminder will be activated at and set the reminder periodicity daily weekly monthly or yearly There should an Add a 30 min and HOURLY reminder                 Add a HOURLY reminder ream72

Needs a confirm button when setting a reminder instead of clicking the X close button Often lags then will play days worth of reminders it missed in a row and you just have to deal with it No convenient repeat every X minutes function for example I give myself pep talk productivity reminders every hour so I have to enter 12 reminders for a day set them for daily then click thru and listen to 24 reminders as it lags for two days and does not function properly A few tweaks and it should be solid Surprised there s not more options out there for this sort of thing         Needs work als;dkfjas;lfdkj

I m writing this review early on in the adoption cycle well before it s had a chance to become a regular part of workflow So far I m very pleased It works that is it does what it says that will do and it s very stable However at this stage in the getting to know you period the glaring omissions have not yet become obvious Maybe there will be no conspicuous omissions As such I ve give this limited app 5 starts For 4 99 it s well worth what it does which is to allow you to record a brief recorded message that will be played back in a given amount of time at a specific time and with option of creating a repeated message Moreover you can create a text message that will behave simillarly as above NOTE Text Message is NOT SMS It is more akin to growl in that your message appears or appears and is converted from text to speech by virtue of a small box that appears on your screen at the appointed time Preferences allow you to specify the input device the quality of the recording starting at login using hotkeys and speaking text messages The interface is black clean an free of clutter A calendar appears by default when you first click on the apps icon in the menu bar and the whole of the app drops down There is no dock icon The calendar can be toggled away leaving only a list of your messages which you can playback at any time There s a menu at the top of the window that drops down it consists of clearly identifiable buttons to add items delete items toggle the calendar window display help which is decent and quit the app Everything works quickly So far this app which is small and takes little memory runs flawlessly as in never quitting suddenly or bombing in the middle of executing one of its functions As I said I have not had enough days using the app within my workflow to say exactly what else I would like it have and this is one of those nice clean apps that you don t necessarily want to bloat with unnecessary features I have the most minor quibble that the menu icon is in black and white and perhaps worse it looks like an alarm clock almost indistinguishable from the Menu Minder app s icon that used to live in my menu A more descriptive icon is in order perhaps a mic with a calendar background with the date on it like the one that appears in the App Store and I m betting the developers will change the icon soon One last positive remark concerning how it feels to use this little app after a few days I find it extremely pleasing and it s unclear whether others will feel this way there may be an adjustment period that follows for example when one begins recording their outgoing messages on a phone tree and is shocked by the way one sounds to be reliably reminded of events by my own voice which I customized for the event I m being reminded about For example if I m reminding myself to do something routine such as to Pickup Jake age 4 from daycare in 15 minutes which I ve specified as a repeating message that should tear me away from my procrastinating with Twitter and get me into the car to pickup my son on time I used I voice that has in it some urgency If I m recording my todos at night which will be recorded for mornnng playback then my voice is somewhat unenthusiastic and maybe I should strive for a more encouraging voice to ease me into executing a number of mundane errands The bottom line is that being reminded in your own voice is superior to growl pop ups or pop ups with sounds sounds alone by email or by the assortment of other calendar reminders that are out there such as the surfeit of web based reminder services some free some with subscriptions that monthly exceed or equal the 4 99 that you ll pay for Voice Reminder Ex Finally this is release 1 0 and it s solid and has essential functionality We could probably expect more and better with time So with early growing enthusisasm and with guarded optimism I strongly endorse Voice Reminder Ex I m not sure what else is out there in the Mac desktop category and some might have more features But for now I can t imagine using anything else regardless of what I would find out there                     Works as Advertised No Bugs Few Frills StarkAttitudes
