The developer of this app identified a problem VPN disconnecting without you noticing and created an app that automatically reconnects In that super specific and small use case this app is great If you expect it to do other common sense things it won t I am evaluating this app for use by my development team and have been using it for about a month I want to find something that makes it nearly fool proof for my team to use VPN I had high hopes for this app but alas it dissapoints I have yet to find a way to get this app to start with the computer and open the VPN connection This would be ideal so that my users do not have to remember to open a specific app each time they restart thier computers Next and even more troublesome is that this app will be used mostly by laptop users Laptop users do not always have Internet This app lacks the ability to determine if you have an Internet connection or not and when you don t it continuously tries to connect to the VPN When it fails you get a popup This happens every 3 5 seconds So while you are frantically trying to connect to a nearby WiFi hotspot you get interrupted by an annoying popup This is incredibly annoying If there is no Internet no VPN connection is needed and the system should just quietly wait until Internet returns To the developer If you refined this and made it a little more polished IT managers like myself would be more inclined to purcahse your app for our entire teams I would even be willing to pay a bit more for the app if it had the features described above pro version         Half Baked ZadraDesign

I have mulitple VPNS I m connected to this seems to autoconnect only one at a time Also I DID have to reneter my password each time so it didnt really save me any time         Not as full featured as I needed gbhumphrey

This application works as advertised If you have a VPN profile already set up simply tell the app to connect to it whenever Wi Fi is detected Waa laa it connects every time I open my laptop Here is the only problem I am connecting to a VPN server at my house As such as soon as I get home and open my laptop it tries to connect to the VPN and fails because it can t loop back to the same IP I m originating from If the developer could update this app to allow for exceptions then I could avoid having it try to connect on certain SSID s while connecting everywhere else That would make the app AMAZING and definitely worth 5 stars Please consider this enhancement             Works good but adheaps

I was hoping that this would keep my VPN connection alive across sleeps but it doesn t It only prompts you for your secureid code when the connection goes down which has minor value I ve yet to find a solution that can truly keep the connection alive Actually Cisco AnyConnect will do it but it causes various connection issues with other programs that it s not worth it Sorry         Doesn t keep connection alive across sleeps BobA1985

Nice little app that does what it says seamlessly Doesn t require re authenticated each time as an earlier review claimed After installing I tinkered around with various network connections turning them on and off again while this was running It performed flawlessly It gives you a warning when there is no network connection which is nice The only nit of a recommendation is that after three or five warnings it would either turn off automatically or ask you if you want to turn it off But for the price I m happy with what it does Oh and sleep mode is nice it reconnects after waking from sleep Simple elegant and almost completely transparent                     Just works Very simple cmillet

I run OS X 10 9 5 and this app just does not work for me The VPN starts up fine on its own but under VPNAutoConnect it goes through an endless cycle of connect disconnect connect disconnect Wrote the author thinking he might have an answer since so manhy people are complaining about this but I got no reply Wish I could get a refund     Does not work for me kenwalkerjr

VPN AutoConnect does what it says it will do it automatically connects to my VPN when I turn on my computer and it reconnects if it happens to disconnect HOWEVER there is one MAJOR annoyance for me The wifi network where I currently reside is pretty unreliable It will often drop off and I just have to wait for it to come back on I have very little control over this When this happens my VPN will of course disconnect I will receive warnings that the VPN was disconnected because blah blah blah VPN AutoConnect will keep trying to connect even though there s NO wifi connection which causes more warnings to pop up Please fix this app so that it will actually check to make sure there s a connection before it tries to activate the VPN or make it so that those warnings don t constantly pop up when it tries to connect It s a major distraction to my workflow when they constantly pop up             Works but PLEASE make it less annoying bandrox

Unfortunately this app does not help much if you want to prevent your mac to go online when the VPN is interrupted For example if you do a file transfer and then the internet dies for a moment and the VPN disconnects Now VPNautoconnect tries to reconnect This can take a few seconds or even a few minutes When this happens the computer happily goes on line without VPN protection until the VPN kicks in again and your transfer software will resume transfer So if you want to do something where you do not want anyone to listen in while you do it this is dangerous Many packets will be sniffable during the VPN off time I regret this purchase         More or less useless BM8000

This does exactly what it says it does and nothing more I use several different VPN configurations and it lets you choose from a list which one you want to currently use If you get disconected it will immediately try to reconnect to the server If you wake up your computer from sleep assuming you haven t turned on it s nifty never sleep function it will attempt to connect immediately automatically It s simple clean and very easy to use Highly recommended Note that as far as I know you need to set up your desired VPN connection s in the Network System Preferance panel Steps on how to do this can easily be found by googling osx VPN setup help or something similar You can have whatever type of connection you want they ll all show up in a drop down list from the toolbar button                     Simple VPN Connector Rydavim

Sadly this does not solve the problem that most annoyed me I use Cisco ipSec and every reconnect is wants the password again This app does nothing about that in fact it tries to hard to reconnect that if wifi is off or something you have to battle the auto reconnect which is always bringing up the password prompt in front of your attempt to reconnect to wifi             Autoconnects but there s still password prompt randyfay

It is true you can t pick from a list of multiple VPN servers if they are L2TP That is what another reviewer was talking about when s he complained Somebody else didn t understand and said this was not true But it is If you have multiple IPSec servers listed you they will appear as separate options in this app But L2TP ones won t You ll only get one option That should be fixed Also there s no way of knowing if you ve actually connected There s no confirmation When you select Turn On the icon changes color but it doesn t mean you ve actually connected That is an almost unacceptable oversight         Too basic criticisms are valid makewen

The app does what it says keeps you connected to a specified VPN and gives you a tidy little taskbar icon to monitor VPN status I rarely rate apps but this one was worth the 1 price of admission Gets a 4 5 only because a few additional features like ability to forego VPN on some networks like on my home network where VPN is redundant would make this a perfect app                 I m a fan AJR1982
