Overall very good except for one annoying flawthe selection will expand to the nearest word This is fine in theory but the problem is what the app sometimes THINKS is a word and what actually is are not always the same I wish you could turn this feature off              Would be the greatest thing ever if not for lenient selection

This app has lots of great features and is very quick to learn how to use Just needs more ebooks in it at other reading levels              Great for keeping up

I emailed the developer just a few weeks ago to ask if it is possible to add more fonts to the app and I am surprised to find that it has already been available in the latest version Is there anything more comforting than feeling your words are listened and responded not to mention the unbelievable speed What below is what I wrote before emailing the developer This is a nice app with great thoughts Various functions and amazing details with abundant and understandable help texts manifest the work developers have done However there is one thing I would like to emphasize and that was the reason why I did not buy this wonderful app The font If the app especially the book reader can support more fonts which look nicer and more comfortable to read I will surely give it with 5 stars and buy it without hesitation Hope we will see that new feature comes with the next version                 Great app and more fonts available

Essential app for learners of the Japanese language Pros Ease of the popup dictionaries the same speed as if using Rikaichan on PC efficiency makes it a winner among alternatives imho Smart lookup support for deinflections unlike the stock Apple dictionaries Has 3 dictionary options JAEN Edict FRJA and the one for Names Browser with bookmarks separated from Safari so you can star only Japaneserelated sites Flashcards Ability to save words while reading Searching for words in ebooks is incredibly fast many customizing options Cons and suggestions Apparently theres a bug that makes you lose bookmarks of ebooks every time you exit the app Biggest con cant import txt files Ive tried iTunes opening from email attachments changing encodings nothing works You can only download books from Aozora or import text from clipboard which is my workaround Id love an option to add more dictionaries the ones available for Rikaichan Support for tabs in the browser would be nice Overall I would recommend Wakaru to anyone whos studying Japanese I hope future updates will fix the minor negatives mentioned Thank you for developing this wonderful study aid this definitely makes reading Japanese on iPad a much more pleasant experience              Best of the bunch but needs improvements

Currently this lite version is not making me want to get the full While I really like the idea behind it the execution really needs some work even just to make this a good LITE app First you only get to look up two words before the privilege is taken away and trying to get to the dictionary only takes you to a buy the full product page This is definitely not enough to let me feel like Ive had a chance to play around and actually makes me less inclined to pay money Second I made the mistake of opening the browser which led to Yahoo Japan and locked the door behind me There is no way to get back to the main app from the browser If I restart the program it just opens onto Yahoo And maybe this bug isnt in the full version but it really doesnt give me any confidence in the product In short Id love to see this app done well two stars for a good idea but a lot of improvement is needed        Not impressed

Reasonably slick ereader and the parsing of words during lookups is generally pretty good and the option to use another dictionary essential As some have noted though how quickly and how frequently the nagging to buy happens is a major barrier to making this friendly enough to sell it And surely Mincho as an alternative font can be easily added              Quite good but a few annoying quirks
