Wifi Directory (Wireless Hotspots Finder)

I have an iPod touch and have been looking for an app that doesnt require Internet access to find hotspots This works great and is easy to use Finds lots of hotspots near me                 Just what I was looking for

Simple bought it paid for it downloaded it TWICE and it still doesnt work Just shows me spinning gear AND the support link also doesnt work just gives a webpage where you can click to buy it at a LOWER COST Nothing good here I want to ask the company for help but they cannot be found     Might like it if it worked

Claim of locating hotspots without internet connection is not true Customer support is nonexistent if you click the support link on itunes you are taken to a one page website with only one link to itunes to purchase the product Waste of money If you enter in your zip it will list hotspots but thats not why I purchased there are other solutions for that at lower cost     GPS function does not work

Doesnt work on the iPhone 4 and the description has no warning about this Just hangs in an endless loop while searching So how do I get my money back     IPhone 4 User

Works like a charm came up with over 60 spots within a 2 miles of me Simple to use basically just click a button                 Nice Tool

With the zip code look up this program uses only the specific zip code entered You have to hit the exact zip code to find the spot It does not do the 50 mile radius as it implies           exact zip only

The free WiFi Finder works just as well as this paid app At first glance the only advantage I can see is that this one tags the free wifi locations        Get the free one instead

PLEASE do not download this app The creators are dead liars claiming you dont need wifi to use it Its another terrible app where you need to wifi to find wifi Or else it just comes up with an error and says it cant find your location and just shows the hotspots from your last location Like thats any help Plus the distances are very distorted It claimed I have 5 hotspots within a mile of me when all the places listed were 15 miles away What a joke And finally what are these places it lists 90 percent of them are just starbucks and mcdonalds It only lists obvious public places So what is this app good for It basically tells you where the closest strbucks or mcdonalds is pending you have an internet connection If I needed to do that I could just look in a phonebook And that wouldnt cost money Do not be the next victim of this worthless app     Absolute garbage

This app is garabage It doesnt even work at all Ive kept it around for an update and it still doesnt work maybe its for iPhones only But thatd be nice if that would be mentioned if your using your iPod Id reccommend wifinder Its free and fast this app is absolute sht It honestly doesnt deserve 1 star I really wish I could give it a 0     Terrible

I just bought this app I live in the LA area and put in my zip code expecting to get 200 listings This app only showed 26 wifi spots for all of LA The closest one is 20 miles away I should have got 200 listings within 10 miles of my location I wasted my money on this Hopefully the author will update the database with more WiFi spots as time goes by     Database insufficient

It never actually found any wifi It is still searching and I bought it 2 days ago I am only looking in a 1 mile radius All I have ever seen from this app is the welcome screen and such is the case with the last 20 reviewers Apple needs to take them off if they are charging money for an app that doesnt really exist     Apple needs to take this off the list

I wish i had this when I was in Florida in February This is a godsend to have Now i can travel and findout in an instant where to go and check my emails THX                 Good Stuff

Can u use the hotspots     What im confused

Zip code mode works ok but location search just sits and spins Gave it at least 10 minutes This is on iPhone 3g        Hangs

This app doesnt work at all First it couldnt even determine my local wifi locations by using the gps feature and then when I try to put in a zip code it brings up a completely different area This app is a POS DO NOT BUY     Worst app ever

I purchased this in advance of an international trip and didnt notice in the fine print that it only covers US hotspots It seems to work as advertised in the US but limiting the database to the US limits the utility of this app           United States ONLY

Works perfectly now but I would like to add a favorites tab for before and after searching Also I would like to see another option that allows you to look for specific stores around you that have wifi and since the iPhone 30 OS is out I would like to be able to see the locations on the map app while still in the wifi app I payed for a app so I would appreciate it if I could get features that arent in a free one as well as the ones that are Update Its been months and you still havent got a in app map like in wifi US Either you get it in with in the next 1 or 2 months or Im swiching to wifi US           Update it already

I live in downtown Seattle within a ten block radius of tons and tons of coffeeshops with free wifi Yet when I punched in my zipcode all I got were two Starbucks in North Bend which is like 20 miles away North Bend is near where Twin Peaks was filmed Soreally Two Starbucks in North Bend I guess its a good thing I already have a mental map of nearby wifi hotspots but this wouldve been nice on vacation Bummer waste of money     Hmm Not Good

It only does one thing and that is to ask if you are in airplane mode Ive got my own WiFi and it cant even find that The web site for this app was no help at all for me it was just a download site for this one app I found no helpfull information or support at all The only reason I gave this 1 star is because I didnt think the review would post without one It dosent even deserve a star as far as Im conserned     Has 1 Function Are You in Airplane Mode

I just purchased this app and I am glad I only paid 2 It is useless in my area of rural California I made the mistake of not reading the reviews first The app would benefit greatly from being able to display hotspots from surrounding zipcodes For example I live 20 miles from the next large town and while there are no hot spots to be found in my zip code it would be convenient if the app would show hot spots in adjacent zip codes With the search set to 50 miles one would expect that those hot spots in the town 20 miles away would show up in the list How frequently does a person know the surrounding zip codes if they even know the one that they are currently in Additionally the app needs the ability to search for hot spots by city and state rather than or in addition to zip code If these suggested enhancements were made then I could endorse the purchase of it In its current state I cannot     needs more options for searching and better results from zip code search

Distances are inaccurate When doing a search for nearby places the closest one was 06 miles away Great right However when I mapped it the correct distance was 4 miles away This defeats the purpose of this type of application     Not worth it

I sort of like this app but like the other review it picks up a lot of wifi that is miles away It picks it up when I use my zip but not when I use my regular location idk what it is but I still think it is a pretty good app I would say its worth it              It works

WARNING you can not look up locations without wifi unless you have previously searched that location with wifi     Wifi directory

there are more comprehensive Wifi finders available for free in the app store Dont waste your money     Why would you pay for this when there are free and better versions

I have had this app since I got my iPod about a month or more And it worked very well even when I got wifi Now it doesnt work at ALL When I type in my zip code or the zip codes around me it just pops up 0 HOTSPOTS FOUND They need to fix this I deserve a functioning app for the 199 I payed An update or something Does any one else have this problem        It worked and now it doesnt

love it does exactly what it says been looking for something like this for a long time theres other wifi types of apps out there but this is the only one ive seen that is more of a directory                 works great for me

I tried this on several local locations using zip code search and is very useful The basis of any app like this is how oftenhow long will it be updated Minor annoyances How about changing the Free field to say Cost Cost unknown is better than Free unknown In a crowded area you get many hits from the list If the icons food etc could be made green free and red costs it would help skimming for an open location              Works well

Its basically a very nice app that gives you excellent results when searching for hotspots based on your current location Works great on my iPod Touch 1g However when searching for hotspots within a specific ZIP code I get ZERO results No matter what LA ZIP code I type in Something clearly is broken here In the last version we got results that had nothing to do with that particular ZIP code now were getting no results at all I hope the developer is able to fix this soon Searching by ZIP would be a very useful feature for planning ahead Thanks           ZIP code search still not working

Wow Punch in a Zip code where your family and friends are and plan ahead Or even just local Just make sure you lower the search radius for searching within larger cities 200 results max Also tells you wifi pay spots In red Do wifi on yer iPhone This is one essential app Must have                 Awesome

A much better alternative to this app one that actually works and is actively being further developed is Spots Wifi Hotspot Directory By the time you read this there may be others as well Unfortunately this app doesnt work and the author ignores bug reports in these reviews or by personal email Zip code search worked for a few times on my 1G iPod Touch but now it has quit working corrupted database I have removed and reinstalled a few times most recently under the system upgrade 30 and it still does not work it now doesnt find hotspots in an area where it did originally and it doesnt find any others as well But meanwhile while looking for information about this issue I tried the support link on the iTunes page and it just goes to an ad for this app and there is no way to report a problem or looked at previous problem reports and fixes I did find the authors email address on another app by him and send email about this problem but I got no answer back seems like this author doesnt support his own work This app deserves 0 stars for lack of ability to report bugs and lack of tech support Id be happy to revise my opinion if these problems are fixed Previously this was my review I bought this app in anticipation of international travel Before buying I looked at the documentation and support website Nowhere is it stated clearly that this directory is for the USA only but once I bought it and installed it that is what it seems to be It lets you enter only 5 digit postal codes so it didnt work for Canadian and UK postal codes which makes it seem like it is USA only I wish the listing had been clearer in that regard However that said if in the US it is a good way to get started finding wifi hotspots at your location especially since it does not require being connected to the internet to do so Once I find a hotspot I can then do other hotspot searches to see if there are others I prefer None of the hotspots in my little town are in the directory but then they are not in the JiWire directory either Ill use it in the US but I wish it worked internationlly     APP BROKEN AUTHOR PROVIDES NO SUPPORT OR BUG FIXES App is USA only

Works perfectly for me particularly when I am traveling So many of the One Star reviewers seem to be people who misunderstand the purpose and function of this app Its a shame                 A MUSTHAVE

All mileages are wrong First spot I looked at said it was 10 miles away But mapped out it was 25 miles away You must map out every site to find out how far it is The milage slider and the milage shown by each site is useless        Mileage
