This is a quick easy and simple to use German to English dictionary The ease of use and the fact that it works offline makes it actually useful to the traveler needing immediate translation Certainly not all words that you may wish to access are available but a very decent app for 1 WordRoll is also available in French Spanish Italian Swedish Dutch and Portuguese Easy to use
Downloaded this before my recent vacation in Germany and used it all the time It scrolls through the word list live as you type so it often reaches the desired word before youve typed it all in and if you make a typo youll know immediately Related words that begin with the same letters are right there which is a boon to comprehension A very handy dictionary Also downloaded Codesigns EnglishGerman dictionary but rarely used it Hint to English users to enter an accented character like ö press and hold on the unaccented character until a list pops up Same thing for entering an ß press on the s key for a few seconds Handy and easy to use

I could not enter words with umlauts ie schoen noetig etc and get translations Some adjectives that are used as nouns only have the noun translation ie tart I am somewhat disappointed Cannot handle umlauts

Wow this is the ticket I also got the Linguo program These two apps are so great It also has audio to help you with the pronunciation You wont have any problems and the best part is that its offline and cheap Translation

German uses 3 genders of words derdie das vs the the the the bottle die Flasche das Kind the child the man der Mann And mancher should say mancherm eg mancher Mann Without knowing that you use wrong German articles missing
i find that it contains a great deal of commonplace words and me only having a itouch it is nice not having to be around a internet connection DOES NOT HAVE GENDER alright
I just got this app today but Im already unsatisfied with it It seems to be missing a lot of basic vocabulary and hasnt proved to be very helpful with translating Not sure
This is my favourite format for a language app so far I like the roll mechanism very much However unless I am missing something there isnt a quick way to enter umlauts when searching from GermanEnglish For example the words that begin with a vowelumlaut are at the end of the roll after Z So to get to Uumlaut you have to just scroll through everything else first Its not ideal If the app could recognize vowele as an umlaut that would be great When I tried experimenting with typing vowelpunctuation marks I even had the app crash when I entered a bullet point Also as others have mentioned the number of entries could be larger but it tends to be useful at least half of the times I tried to use it in GermanyAustria Great app but what about umlauts
I love this app I recently moved to Germany and it is very handy Only request is to add umlauts to the keyboard because it does not always register if there is an umlaut or eszett double S This is an amazing app though and I use it almost daily Not always the most accurate but pretty close and I can usually figure it out Highly reccommend this app Use it all the time
Buy an app that can correctly identify the articles that come with the German words one that registers the umlauts ü ä ö usw and one that doesnt have AD SUPPORT why is that there on a paid version Sure it doesnt say they arent there in the description but when you buy a drink for takeout at your local drivethrough dont you expect to get a lid without asking for it Simple courtesies Save your money
