WTNH News 8 for iPad

A recent update included a fullscreen advertisement upon entering the app That was annoying but would have been okay if it did not also include audio causing my playing music or podcast to stop To go back to my podcast I had to exit the WTNH app reenter the podcast app and reselect the podcast then going back to WTNH app would cause the same problem with an advert killing the existing audio stream for its own and again not restoring the previous audio when the advert was closed So the WTNH app is now unusable crap Deleted     Recent update made me delete the app

Its very disappointing when people ask to fix the update because the notifications do not clear After over a week and still no fix Im deleting your app WFSB at least listens to its followers     Stop the mounting notifications

Works great on iPhone 6 My iPad no longer constrain newscasts Always crashes after a long wait Somebody fix please My eyes are getting old and its much easier to watch on the iPad than the iPhone        iPad app update doesnt work

First of there are way too many advertisements Its basically one big commercial Then my main concern is the school closing a and delays page Its hard to get too and once there its takes ten minutes to find my school There is no rhyme or reason to it Nothing is in alphabetical order and and all the towns and businesses and schools are mixed in together Its a mess        A mess

Is there simply no one managing the social media outlets for WTNH Channel 8 How is it humanly possible that the app is constantly dysfunctional and no one is even managing this public portal that is supposed to work on an iPhone 5s that has been an available device for an entire year Links copied for one story actually bring up a completely different article The app requests that we upgrade EVERY single time it is opened for months This app is just cringeworthy     Constant Problems with WTNH Channel 8 App

Everything i was about to write has already been saidthe ads the random jumping to app store the outdated weather reports wrong city cumbersome format And why am i looking at a huge ad for breast augmentation every time i try to get the news Some of these reviews are olddoes wtnh not care that the app is barely usable     Not good at all

Just tried downloading the app again Same problems Thats it for me Im over to NBC or FOX CH 8 get another app developer I keep trying this app and I always end up deleting it Im using it on an iPhone 5s or should say trying to I expect updates to be improvements but they always end up having some kind of a bug This time around its a location bug Like others it puts me in Meriden So my local weather forecast is useless This morning I checked on school closings a feature I need Only 6 closings listed at 600 oclock Again useless With the time CH 8 has been developing this app they should have it right DUH Fire the developer     Yeah sure you have our back

What a PIA app Makes me not want to read the news Sure you have to have ads I get that Why do they keep expanding when Im trying to read the story titles I end up hitting a different story then I want to read DELETED     Deserves no stars

Ive discovered that if you click on the actual article from your Notification Center then it will clear the red notification bubble on the app icon DO NOT just clear the Notification Center because you will NOT be able to clear it again Im left with 6 notifications that I cant clear even though Ive clicked on every article Deleting and reinstalling doesnt work notifications still came back PLEASE FIX THIS Its a first world problem but I hate phantom notifications I have OCD           Notifications cant be cleared

Most of the time When it does it wont do full screen     Live streaming doesnt work

App never opens Always stuck on the opening main screen Ive uninstalled the app several times and reinstalled it also restarted my phone and nothing Also when it has opened I too am always being shown in Meriden and live no where near there If like my location to show where I actually am This app is AWFUL     Annoyed

I can live with a few banner ads but the new video ads that were forced to watch before actually getting to the news are unacceptable You just cost yourself a viewer Deleted     Is this a news app or an advertising platform

The news channel app has become increasingly covered in ads I have decided to delete this app I like to check the news not wait for a UI commercial every time I open it This app is not worth it being free Dont download it     Wtnh and the overwhelming advertising

I like to see my local news and would like to use this app but the amount of ads is ridiculas and I cant figure out how to change the weather to my local area I dont care whats happening in Meriden I want to know whats outside my door Did the person in charge of this app actually use it and think it was good     Bad

On the top right hand corner the app displays weather for Meriden I live in Shelton and dont care about Meriden How about reporting accuracy up there              Why does this app think I live in Meridan

Every time I try to read the list of articles I keep having the list move with all these stupid ads in the middle so sometimes I end up clicking on an article already read Also what is the deal with UI or SBC video ad popping up every time I go into the app        Less Ads

This is a great app after an update About a week later everything on it crashes While trying to look at the weather it gives me the best sledding hills in CT Work a little harder on the app and I think more people will like it     Good when it works

Im 45 miles away from Meriden I want to be able to change the location and I dont have that ability     Changing Location

Why in the world would you want to use an app when immediately your greeted with an annoying popup add Just go to the mobile site it actually works better than this app which is unstable and unreliable     Awful

Dont know what happened to this app Was a pretty good app until recently Notifications never go away Very annoying watching number increase I finally had to remove it Hope they fix it soon     Terrible

Having the notifications staying in the Notification Center for our convenience or whatever you updated is not convenient with the stupid little notification bubble telling me I have 8 notifications that wont go away Please put it back like it was     Nothing was fixed

There are frequent issues with stories not opening properly erroneous alerts displaying and then not clearing and ads covering a significant portion of the page Does not compare particularly well to comparable apps           Needs Some Work

If you use this app and have notifications enabled dont tap any notification you get and expect it to open on the story you were interested in looking at because it doesnt do that In fact youll be hardpressed to find the story at all Other news apps can do this it seems like a basic functionality you might expect from an app serving you breaking news What the app does do very well is to serve up advertising While I understand the need to underwrite app development and maintenance the inyourface overthetop way this app does it makes the user experience annoying For these reasons I dont use the app anymore and will be deleting it     Deleting this app

I live in new haven but the weather depicted in the right corner always says Meriden I would like to change that so it will show where I am Its annoying           Weather control

I set it to automatically get my location its way off I looked through the whole app thrice cant find a solution to the problem I have to go out of my way to get local info out of this app because of it Will have to delete        Not great

Wow there are bad apps but this is downright embarrassing for anyone even remotely affiliated with WTNH Want up the latest weather from TWO DAYS AGO YOU GOT IT Want an alert about an important story in your area and then never find it YOU GOT IT Want to crash repeatedly simply trying to watch your local news YOU GOT IT Want endless full page ads for other apps YOU GOT IT ALL This is simply disgraceful and I cant believe I downloaded it yet a third time in a year to give it a chance Stay away Youre better off getting the news and weather by asking your blind deaf elderly neighbor WTNH Two day old weather reports are useless news you cant read is useless constant ads that crash the app are uselessyour app is shamefully useless And I dont live in Meriden either     Awful Such a Shame

Another update another set of problems Now the push breaking news notifications do NOT disappear Since the update Im sitting on a 4 notification bubble that wont go away even with the relevant stories opened and viewed Deleting the app until this is resolved Cannot stand staring at phantom notifications on the home screen     Broken

This app has had its ups and downs at best Now Completely unusable Trying to fit everything into boxes doesnt work It isnt fluid and whoever has built this app should refund WTNH all of their money This app is in need of serious process improvement Moving the schoolbusiness closing to anywhere but front and center is shortsighted People use this app to get pertainent information news I will redownload when it is overhauled     No longer useful

The push notifications are Still going Nowhere Maybe if you updated the website Before you send notices Or perhaps do both with a Single coded command Cmon we know the tech is available Please use it And yeah we know you have to advertise but could we limit the redundancies to once per visit or at least put it on a timer for every 15 min or so All those ads are doing is costing you subscribers        Could be more user friendly

The old app was marginal but the new updated one is just awful All of the ads make it difficult to scroll through the news stories and the articles themselves the wrong link copied into an email when I used the email option the app is just not very userfriendly This is my goto news station and the app makes me choose other news stations apps just to avoid the frustration     Frustrating App

You get alerts in breaking news but there are 2 major problems You cannot read the entire alert because all the text doesnt fit in the alert window Then when you unlock your phone and go to the app there is no place to find ANY of the alerts Are you kidding me     Junk App

I open a news app to see my local news not to be transferred every 30 seconds to the App Store to download an app that I dont want Its ok to have Ads however if there is an app that I want I WILL GO TO THE APP STORE AND GET IT If this crap continues I will simply delete the app and switch to a different source for my news I dont have time for this stupidity     Was a good app latest refresh is Adware

This is a good app I would like it even better if I could choose to get only traffic and weather push alerts I watch the channel 8 news so I could do without the news alerts              Love the traffic alerts

I liked it one I first downloaded it but they appear to have sold ad space to some outfit Whenever I would tap on the app regardless of the reason my screen would first fill with an annoying add that I did not want nor ask for I would just keep deleting it and continue on to news traffic etc However after releasing Channel 10 has an app with NO adsguess what I did Adios News 8     Deleted this app after on too many video commercials

Its ridiculous how long it takes some companies to support the late 2014 iPhones The next generation will be out in a couple of months Its long overdue for you to get your act together     Still No Native iPhone 6 or iPhone 6 Plus Support

I use the app mainly to get a handle on school closings in the area but the schools are listed in a seemingly random order Its very difficult and borderline pointless to try to find the districts that Im looking for when I cant even jump around in alphabetical order     School Closings Out of Order
