I have 5 of their cameras One disconnects all the time The others take forever to load The phone app stopped allowing me and my wife to log in on two different phones even though the web portal works Then they go and pull the free cloud storage with almost no notice The new model is a pay for storage per device The more cameras you buy from them the more they expect you to shill out each month What a waste of time and money Currently looking for a way to connect them all to a local dvr system SMH     Frustrated and deceived woodrowwillson18

The old Homemonitor app had its issues but this new y can app is awful No push notifications are working it takes FOREVER to connect and sometimes never does The images are switched between cameras I am highly annoyed with it Please fix this app I have four cameras on my system and they are not cheap I do not want to have to get an entirely new system UPDATE 12 9 17 Still stinks still has rotten connectivity have not been able to view live video for weeks Crappy lag time and now they want to charge for it but have not fixed anything Updates to iOS have always caused problems with the app PC viewing is NOT better I am finally going to get a new system which stinks because these cameras are not cheap and can t be used with anything else as far as I am aware DO NOT USE Y CAM UNTIL THEY UPGRADE IT certainly not now that the service is no longer free     This app stinks Xsn10s

This camera used to have free 7 day motion detection and cloud recording which distinguished it from the many cameras out there They dropped the free cloud recording out of the blue today now need a subscription for what was free previously At the very least should have continued to offer 3 day or even 1 day free cloud storage Now it s the same as any other camera you can get I recommend shopping elsewhere Previous review was 5 stars Sad         Sad Jctusa2011

When I signed on today to check my cameras at my vacation home following a storm the Home Monitor App wouldn t load and had an error My first thought we lost power Arrived at the vacation home and everything is fine When I went to the App Store for updates the App was gone Now I m thinking Y cam is no longer in business and I was upset After further search I found this App Read the reviews and was not feeling good about this new App and the fact that I had no warning about the old App being obsolete Well guess I forgot about that email account I created just for Y cam notifications because once I remembered it I found an email from June 5 notifying me that I would need to download the new App I did and I m very happy to report that it s an improvement I like that when you choose a camera to watch it s live feed the most recent recordings appear listed below it From this screen you also have the option to change settings on your camera such as turn off audio or night vision You also have the option to record or take a photo from the live feed All four of my cameras loaded up quickly on the new app and they even have a better picture No I don t work for Y cam and I have bought my cameras from Amazon adding new cameras when I felt I needed additional viewing coverage such as my boat dock                     Love It Boatrrs

Aesthetically it s a nice app for monitoring your security cameras Functionally it is worthless worse than the last if any of us could imagine that was possible First of all maybe you shouldn t instantly notify everyone that the old app was no longer working and you had to switch to a new app to monitor your cameras A little heads up maybe Conversion period Nope instantly cut off I had to pull off the road to upload the new app in hopes of keeping any notion of security Function crap I have three cameras One now has nothing but a grey screen and the app says it s functioning properly A second has a black screen and hasn t sent any notifications that there is a problem but I can t pull up the camera The third has a picture but there is an awful feedback sound that drowns out anything that might be in the room No email no push notifications nothing The positive reviews of the new app are either complete fabrications or people who don t monitor their cameras through this app at all Sure there is a great screen shot of what your camera saw on the home screen but that could be hours days or weeks old if you aren t paying attention Summation YOU CANNOT RELY ON THIS APP FOR SECURITY If Y cam wants to pretend like they have a viable product they need to step up and make a viable monitoring system     No news isn t always good news Yeah umm no!

I have both Y cam and Neat products Before this latest major app upgrade I found myself going to my Nest app because it had a better user interface and more rapid response time This new Y cam app has brought the user experience back up to almost par with nest The only other feature I would like to see is the controls scrolling I am able to do with Nest The image is better with Y cam less fisheye                 Latest app much improved drtaters

April 28 2017 service has improved dramatically and is very reliable Noticed a bit of choppiness in video clips in my secondary property Turns out internet service was too slow 25mbps up and only 5 mbps down Upgraded to 100 10 Mbps and now video is smooth Customer service via email is quite good friendly and prompt Nov 30 2016 Does the job Good service which is improving I ve been subscriber for 2 years Said early on that free Business model would result in poor service Now that they have Premium service which is a good value hoping they can use proceeds to add more servers Would be nice if servers were in US instead of U K I feel they will improve over time Customer service is very good responsive                     Arrived PDinNY

Y Cams are easy to set up and do a nice job of providing an image Day or night I like the motion area feature but on the outside cameras you get a lot of false positives from rain wind and leaves I hooked all my outside cameras up POE running off a Ubiquity switch that also runs POE to the APs That is on an UPS so the cameras keep running during short power outages The app is great allowing you to view the cameras and liters from the sensitive mic in real time or recorded segments when the camera detected motion                     Y Cam is great BladeRunner451

I purchased my Y Cam a year and a half ago My mother has Alzheimer s and is in an assisted living facility I wanted to find some way I could see her and check on her when not able to be with her My husband and I researched several different cameras and for the purposes I needed the Y Cam fit the bill and is extremely affordable I purchased mind from Amazon I sometimes have trouble with the audio streaming clearly as well as the visual The night vision is amazing Customer support has been extremely helpful I would highly recommend this camera                 Very happy customer A grateful Gigi
