I love and hate this game all at the same time                 Great game

Ive been looking for a solid retro feeling Mario replacement for the ipad and this fills the void left where Mario once was with its classic side scrolling action maybe could add more features such as a toggle the reverse button on or off and some ninja stars would be sweet But all in all I think maybe a cheaper price until those things are added but I ended up paying anywayalso love the 3d levels and camera angles              Yay

Totally worth it And I cant wait for the sequel                 Awesome

If youre a fan of the first Super Mario Land you will love this oldschool style platformer with a great newschool twist Controls are simple and tight graphics are neatly styled music is very cool and the challenge is evident Its among my favorites                 Quite Awesome

I love this game so much but how do you get the dang game toy Also the game needs an update for iPad and newer versions of iOS Overall the game is great Just please update And for the love of one bit ninja tell someone how to get the game toy              I love this game But

So this app is one of my current favorites I love it with all of my heart and recommend it to my friends It provides a challenge with a lot of frustration but overall it has very simple controls and a great feel I only have 1 complaint The game needs an update Its 2014 The game hasnt had an update since 2012 and there are a couple things that need fixing For example there is a minor bug where when you beat a level the level screen gets shifted so that you cant see your progress only the levels from that world It is easily fixed by resetting the app but it proves to be quite annoying However other glitches are quite fun to exploit such as going backwards too far in a level Speaking of levels the game needs more Ive had the game for over a week and I still havent made it to level 20 The game does not have any inapp purchases so it requires no extra cash the game has Pros and Cons like any other but it seriously needs a tuneup The game is fantastic 1bit ninja has a great chiptune soundtrack It has unique gameplay and simple controls It proves to be frustrating but whats a game without a challenge It needs a single update and a few more levels I recommend this to all that are reading this review if you like a retro feel to a game                 Amazing but has a single flaw

The jump mechanism is SO unforgiving I find that I have no incentive to go explore If I go hunting for secrets you see Ill hit a new jump and that will surely kill me the first five or six times I hit it And not because I dont know exactly what I wan to do but because Ill have an 8ms window to make the jump           Clever but

I like this game It reminds me of the first Mario game but with the 3D aspect it has a nice puzzle element to it I like others would like the ability to go backwards as well as forwards but I understand why the devs left that out It adds incentive to play through the level again and find the secrets If a sequel is made I hope the game world would be expanded so that more pathways would be available and the option to go backwards would be available as well Still even if a sequel is never made the devs can be proud of what they made here              Neat idea fun game

Ive come across If you love Mario then youll love this game best controls for an old school platformer on a touch screen you wont ask for more I just wish the developer would release some new level Please                 Best and hardest game on iOS

Yes I must say this game is fantastic but the horribly annoying part is the fact that you need to rely on springs to change the direction of your one bit hero Sadly this results in the occasional off screen coin escaped enemy etc Please if you plan on making another game similar to this one allow more than one direction of movement for the character Thank you              Strafe left

I dont give 5 star reviews often but this game is truly something special If you want a cute and fun platformer that you can stroll through and never worry about dying then look elsewhere This game is hard Frustratingly hard but thats what makes it so fun and ultimately more rewarding For those who complain about the lack of a back button I say that it would ruin the experience The elegance of simply run and jump is clean and intuitive and avoids the feel of a lame port from some other controller based console It also keeps you coming back for more and more runs until you can collect all coins and get an awesome time Visually the game is stunning perfectly walking the line of retro 8bit while constantly reminding you that this is not a gameboy with beautiful monochromatic color schemes and visual effects like rain and ash in the castle levels Not to mention the 3d look and camera modes The one request I would make for the game is a record of High Scores for old school mode Right now it only saves data for each level but its fun to start from 11 and see how far I can get and how many points I can rack up If you want a challenging but fun platformer and can resist the urge to throw you iDevice across the room after dying 10 times in a row this is the game for you                 Frustratingly Fantastic

This game is fun often very fun but it has pretty bad input lag In a platformer where pinpoint accuracy is needed this can be really frustrating Other than that pretty clever ripoff of Super Mario Land           Fun gamewith a caveat

If you grew up playing Super Mario Land on your Gametoy then this game has some serious merit in its rampant nostalgia factor However if you didntnot sure that this game is going to do it for you on its own While this reminds me of simpler times it also reminds me how frustrating those times could be The fact that you can only go in one direction at any given time adds to the challenge of the overall experience but at the same time is hella frustrating And the jump action has to be timed way too perfectly to be not be annoying as well Its one of those things where the challenge is more from handicapping the player than getting it right or using skill but its part of what makes this game unique So as much as those things are super frustrating its hard to argue that they dont add anything to experience as well The addition of the 3D view to see secrets is on the otherhand straightup cool If your like me and remember sitting in the backseat of a long car ride driving yourself crazy with a tiny tiny mario based platformer then youll enjoy this trip down memory lane at least a little bit Folks used to more modern games or with shorter attention spans might want to give this a miss           A Solid Homage even the flaws

Its been years since 1Bit Ninja came out and the developer is still releasing updates for it to make sure it runs well on new devices I think thats awesome The game itself is a great arcade game it distills the platformer genre into its basic parts resulting in a pickupandplay experience that is easily enjoyable in bitesized sessions You can do only two things run and jump and the controls reflect that simplicity touching the left side of the screen makes you run and you him the right makes you jump This removes the possibility of being distracted or frustrated by control issues other iOS platformers tend to have Admittedly it also makes the game more challenging since you can only move forward but thats part of what makes it fun The goal is to make your way through each level trying to find the best routes through them in order to get the most coins and to collect all of the S coins in each level Pulling it off can be tricky but never frustrating and requires some clever timing and memorization of the levels layout This is further enhanced by the existence of secret passages in the level which can be revealed by moving your finger across the top edge of the screen changing the camera angle and revealing a 3D view of the levelwhich I think is just plain cool The game also records your best times for completing a level adding a bit more to its replay value 1Bit Ninja has a great sense of style too especially for those of us who are nostalgic about the earlier days of video games It draws its visual design largely from games for the original Game Boy especially the first Super Mario Land game and the effect works well especially when juxtaposed by the 3D peek feature mentioned earlier The music fits the game well being energetic and catchy I find myself trying to jump in time with it and it suits the ninja theme of the game well since it reminds somewhat of traditional Japanese music Overall 1Bit Ninja is a fun memorable and challenging game that I keep coming back to and its been on my devices ever since I bought it 3 years ago                 Great game great developer
