While there isn t a lot of different sounds to pick from with the free app it s still great Being able to pick from 4 almost the exact same sounds is still a nice option instead of just having one There is also a spot to where you can save your mixes But my favorite part is setting a timer And not just a 5 minute timer a 2 hour timer so I can fall asleep to it Or even an 18 hour timer so I can just keep it going for a whole spay day                     Outstanding megsness

The app is awesome but I have 2 suggestions for sounds one cars passing on a busy street and the other is bright noise this I can send you if you want a 12 minute loop of bright noise the busy street I can t however it s a nice app and these are mear suggestions                     Ideas for new sounds Poison_reign

I connect my phone to my Bluetooth speaker every night and start this app up to help me sleep I love that you can mix sounds making thunder louder fire crackling sounds etc But some of those sounds are only with the paid version The free version still does the trick though                     Perfect app Matthew Ziegler

I discovered this asoftmurmur from Imgur years ago and fell in love with it since When the developers announced that they were making an app for the Apple Store I signed up for the email announcement when the app is released I am extremely sad that after waiting all this time that they locked their other sounds The sounds were originally free on their site     I love this app but mad that I have to pay money for something that was originally free Bribri140

I m glad the website finally has an app It makes it that much more convenient for studying The app version sounds just as good as the website Although though some sounds are locked in the free version I am still very happy with it they were sounds I rarely used anyway All in all I m happy                     Same quality as the website Knights_Alchemy

I have a bunch of ambient tracks stuffed away in an album that I use to sleep with This app is much quicker to open and get running and I don t have to think about making sure my repeat settings are set up correctly One suggestion I would make is to add a running water sound like a creek stream I would absolutely throw down for the in app purchase to unlock that                     Very nice LtCarter47

I loved the interface and sounds of A Soft Murmur but to have every sound but the first four locked That is just unfair when it is totally free online I would absolutely take screen ads over this restricted functionality I m listening to audio not reading my screen anyways Devs please consider this change In the meantime I will have to uninstall this app         A poor mockup of the original website siehorse

Finally the app has come to the Apple Store It s as easy to use as what the website is You will have to purchase some of the sounds single package purchase but I only use the thunder sound free so I have nothing to buy                     A long time coming majestrate

This is a nice ambient sound app A Soft Murmur by Polarised Light 1 The sounds are high quality and seamless no sound of a loop occurring 2 One of the highlights of this app is the ability to control the volume of each sound independently and to have as many as you want playing at the same time I actually like just two at a time e g rain and thunder is the most obvious combination or just one 3 Another great feature of this app is it has a timer that allows you to set a time for the sound to fade out and end I just set it to one minute to try it out and was pleasantly surprised to see that with around 10 seconds left the app started to automatically lower the volume in the app from its current setting down to zero instead of just abruptly ending the sound when the timer reached zero 4 My favorite unexpected feature of this app is the ability in the settings menu just click on the gear icon near the top of the screen when the app is open to toggle on or off Allow sounds to play over audio from other apps By default this is turned off but if you turn it on you can have the rain or whatever sound s you want playing at the same time as any other sound your iOS device I tested it out by playing some YouTube videos and sure enough with this setting toggled on it played the rain and thunder I had playing in the app at the same time as the music video I tried it with After adjusting the volume in the app I was able to match it up so that it sounded like it was part of the original recording I found it amusing Conclusion A Soft Murmur by Polarised Light is a good app that does what it claims to and has some useful extra features the timer and settings allow disallow sound to be played at same time as sound from other apps What I would like in a future version the only thing I would also like is the ability to use it on an old iPod running iOS 4 and another one with iOS 6 but I realize support for older versions of the iOS is unlikely so I am not going to be holding out hope that will ever happen and for now I am quite pleased that it works on the iPhone I have that is running a version of iOS 9                     High quality sound and easy to use interface Logan9000
