I bought their service and it connects but youll never load any page Not even unblocked pages Their tech support is responsive but then I learned their real tricks they spin you in loops with tech support and string you along until your service date finishes then they tell you you cant get a refund because your service is ended Meanwhile you been trying to get a refund for a non working app from day one I wasted my money and time on this one They havent the curtesy to admit when their service is blocked Plain and simple look elsewhere Theyll cheat you dont bother
If directed to the App Store to renew Do not do it astrill will deny all knowledge of payment despite you showing proof Shocking service Do not pay this way
Ive been using the Astrill VPN for the past four years on Windows Pc and recently on IOS Except for occasional outages Astrill has been reliable and fast all these years Love the Family Plan Reliable and secure
It could be a little slow at time There is a bug with iOS8 where I have to restart it from time to time But overall it works in China Works fine in China

I tried 3 different phone numbers and there is not a free trial it says my free trial has expired Thats not possible since I just registered What a sad joke of an application Horrible no free trial
It would be more useful if you had all the abilities on iOS that is also on Mac or windows I have an app that requires port forwarding but I cant enable it Also the random disconnect bug iOS 8 has been out for a while and nothing is being done to change it Convenience is also a problem I have battery doctor as an app and I can just go into Notification Center and just get info on my RAM etc It would be useful if we could scroll into Notification Center and just turn Astrill on and off I live in China and some apps and or websites I want Astrill enabled Others no All Im saying is that make the app more like the Mac app Ok I guess
It was working soso in China until I updated my iPhone to iOS8 Now its completely dead Signing up with another VPN service now Astrill just lost 8 customers in my office Doesnt work on ios8
For iOS8 users please delete the VPN settings and the Astrill app and reinstall the app again and also the VPN settings It will fix the asking for password problem You will also finally connect to the VPN but it keeps cutting out And that is so annoying Astrill please update the app iOS 8 users
For an Astrill membership 3 months is worth US 998 6 months is 666 1 year is 583 and 2 years is 625 Wish I knew that before downloading the app App is free but plans arent
Ive been a long term user both on my laptop as well as cellphone which they never failed me when theres a problem they fix it up quickly Since switched to use iPhone I notice the difficulties posted by the OS it took a bit but they fixed it as usual it might not have a pretty interface but it does its job well Ive never used any other vpn thats better than Astrill Still the best

This app doesnt work when you most need it So many bugs with many servers It logs off by itself and doesnt let you login and freezes for hours You spend hours to start using it But then when finally login its quite good Extremely unstable
This app tries to automatically reconnect to the internet A nice idea but its broken All the time do I come back to find Astrill drained the battery of my iPad and iPhone because the VPN didnt stay switched off And when you put your device to sleep and forget to disconnect manually you have no internet connection despite the VPN thinking it is still on Its infuriating laborious to reset and Astrill refuses to even give users another option This will drain your battery
I use Astrill on my iPhone in China and Im lucky if I can connect once a daymost of the time its ERROR The VPN server did not respond ERROR The request timed out or ERROR Could not find server with specified hostname If youre on iOS dont even bother Useless in China

I am a long time astrill customer I have this great VPN on all my computers It will not work on my iPhone no matter how many times I restart and reset and reinstall So when my year is over I will be looking for a new VPN company that is great on phones and computers Customer service has gone way down hill over the years the dont seem to have much product knowledge anymore The worst iPhone VPN ever
Astrill has lost its connection on iPad or iPhone as of January 1 2015 in China and the problem has not yet been fixed If you use Astrill in China I dont recommend it at all Not in China

I let my renewal lapse because I was out of the country I received a couple of emails offering 10 and 20 off I decided I would take them up on the offer but was informed it had expired They then said they would give me 10 off if I would write a review on my Twitter or Facebook page I have neither as I take my privacy seriously Hello thats what a VPN is for And I had to have at least 20 followers This is blackmail I deleted the app I let my renewal lapse
I finally deleted Astrill from my ipad iphone and computerOverall Im extremely dissapointed with this VPN and would not use it First off in China it doesnt work on IOS devices its blocked in mainland China so if you are planning to use this on your mobile device it 100 doesnt work I think the positive reviews for China are fakeso i only used the verson for my laptopwell it continually messed up my internet proxy settings and messed upslowed down my browserI decided to delete it and what do you know all my browser problems went away Horrible VPN and messed up my computer

This app rarely works when I want it to then it logs in by itself every now and then It has a mind of its own and is not cooperative A shame since the desktop version is pretty good I will be looking into other services and asking for a refund for the remainder of my plan Not as good as the desktop version

The new version works fine on iOS8 This VPN is one of the fastest I used streaming is very smooth Sometimes usually once per hour VPN disconnects but it reconnects quickly so Im not much bothered I know is due to a bug in iOS8 I hope Apple will fix it soon Works ok on iOS8
Great app No need to create seperate VPN servers manually and it works all the time on my iPhone 6 It also maintans the persistence of the connection no matter where I am which has always been a challenger here in China Highly recommended Excellent
Astrill is the best VPN for the money especially on the desktop platforms On iOS its also potentially the best and does its best given the strange structure of iOS Works 95 of the time if you know what youre doing As for issues with iOS 8 simply reinstall astrill or the profiles installed during setupfixes everything Phenomenal minor ios 8 issues FIX BELOW
For a service that people use to protect their privacy or evade censorship youd expect better privacy But instead they demand registration with your full name address email and mobile phone which require you to verify Astrill is a privacy killer Privacy enemy

This app does what it says Another user mentioned a problem at the login screen I have not experienced it I know when my computer is still logged into the VPN I cant get past the login screen on my phone But this review is not for tech help No option to choose OpenVPN vs StealthVPN in this app Even saying that I have no complaints about this app Astrill works And yes I live and work in the huge country that shall not be named but my IP address says I am in Dallas Texas Not Pretty But It Works I dont give 5 stars

I tried to get the free trial and when I click to do so it prompted me to put in my phone number which I then did After that it said I am not eligible for a free trial and I must pay for the full service I thought it might be something with my phone number so I tried three other phone numbers that I have and the same thing happened Beware Scammed me

Current version unlike previous must be the only VPN client on your system to work on ios8 and windows 8 I have always had 2 VPNs to be assured continued access in China all seem to have periods where they dont work for a week or two but now Astrill will not work at all if there is another VPN installed I will not be renewing next year Doesnt play with others
I have been living in China for a while now Up until a few months ago I was using two other highly rated VPN brands Both had issues with intermittent connectivity which is why I had two of them I just thought that this was life behind the great China firewall Then with the introduction of iOS 8 on my phone and iPad everything toppled quickly I was in a mess Then a fellow expat friend recommended this app Six months now of flawless operation You have to be careful about logging in on multiple devices but that is a small thing Fantastic VPN

Its a terrible situation that by the foolish acts of the Chinese government we need this in the first place But apart from that Astrill is doing a great job in giving us back our freedom Good VPN
