Chess Viewer

Consistently fails to install usable ebooks purchased at the companys website Silence from their customer support after several days is deafening     Huge disappointment

It would be nice if all the ebooks were available for purchase           Wonderful appBUT

its great to have these books integrated into an app much easier than through CB or OTB the books however consist of content piecemealed together making it difficult to navigate Viewing in landscape mode makes nav easier and if you half a brain this viewer is better than anything else Ive seen so far looking forward to some updates           Kinda clunky but good

Good app UI is excellent its awesome to be able to flip back and forth from text to board However a wider book selection is needed only about 30 books on the opening Also does not save place if you exit out              Decent but two complaints

1 I bought a book and after the download the title is different from the one I bought Luckily the contents are correct It was only the title displayed that was different But that reflects to the quality of the app 2 I accidentally press the back button while examining a game and when I returned to the game I needed to search where I left Very frustrating 3 Navigating through the book is try difficult That variations popup dialog is very annoying Im sure there is a better way to do that Also youll need to constantly navigate to the texts section of the book This should be for iPad only app so that you can both view the text and the board at the same time 4 At the end of each line its very frustrating you cannot continue to play As a student of the opening Ill want to play more after the final position of the line In this case I still need to grab my chessboard which defeats the purpose of this viewer Everyman needs to hire a professional iOS developer The one who did this was obviously an amateur going to shortcut by opting to use navigationbased template That wasted a lot of real estate because of the title bar and the tool bar I want this app to be successful because this is a great idea I do not need to use a couple of chess boards to study openings     Not ready

Like the fact you can use these titles anywhere and see the moves and commentary Great choice of titles which are currently expanding If you ever need to use their customer service it is outstanding                 Excellent Format

I would like to see abetter arrow for going backor forward the one you have right now is very smalloverall very nice for following a gameone more thing I wish there was a way to mark the games that I have already finished looking atso later on I focus on the rest of the games from a book              fs

Dynamite An ebookPGN viewer all in one app I dont have to take out my chess set and try to remember where I put the book A very unique app from Everyman Chess                 Finally

I want this to work ebook on my iPad studying in an integrated computer environment Main problem every time there is anything of complexity moves other than the main line a dialog box pops up asking main line or others This completely disrupts my following of the lines I am trying to learn Annoying It needs a feature where you can disable sidelines and also automate the mainline with a time control so that you can watch the moves at your pace Second problem there needs to be a tree in the move box showing main and sidelines moves ala Chessbase I find it difficult on the small screen to follow without this Otherwise I like it but my use of this app will be limited until these concerns are addressed           A few important features away from being great

Maybe could be improved to navigate variations but u got to love this app and all the great books at your fingertip in your ipad                 Great chess library

I enjoy the format The moves can be made on the board by touching the print I find myself grabbing these books on my iPad and going over them late into the night They are an enjoyable way to spend an evening By the way the customer service is great I had trouble with a title They gave me the choice of another title and ultimately fixed the one I had trouble with                 A great selection of books

It is really hard to find pgn openers on the App Store I do like the book store that the app provides where you can study the notes throughout lessons Feedback Adding in our own personal notes would be awesome                 My Rating

The best chess viewer on the iPhone Its nice to be able to read some of the Everyman titles this way The built in board makes it much easier to follow the variations when you read the book It would be nice if there were a way to go to the next part game without having to go back to the contents But thats a minor quibble Recommended              Great chess viewer

Amazing app its simple to usemy you can retrieve PGNs for your computer and place them on the app and the format is really good                 Best PGN viewer yet

You need to add an engine that can instantly begin analyzing the position on the display board              Great books needs an engine

As others have mentioned the reader itself is clunky Other readers eg Gambit are better I wish that this publisher would follow suit I am adverse to buying titles for this reader because the interface is so distracting        Excellent selection of books but the reader is poor

The application is a poor substitute for the actual books There is no real table of contents and a chess board dominates the screen with only 5 lines of text or a full page of unformatted text with no chess board illustrations The chess board and pieces are not as good as in other applications This app is a real disappointment     Chess Viewer

Im not sure why the complaints from some of the others because I have found this to be a great app to study chess games It allows you to associate pgn files with the app so they can easily be loaded via Dropbox or email Furthermore it allows you to observe alternate variations that include as many lines as the variation contains One thing that would make it even more awesome would be to either provide an engine for analysis or allow the loading of your own engines I know that since its free Im probably asking a bit too much but its a great app nevertheless                 Great app for studying chess games

Most of the time it crashes at startup because it tries to load the last position Also the pieces look bad on the 1st nonretina iPad mini Its as if the chess pieces received a downgrade from the previous version I would also like to see engine analysis and Merida chess pieces added Another convenient feature would be the ability to browse the store           Crashes

Great app for viewing games Quick and simple Sometimes get parse errors for pgn files that are missing s in the tag fields but the workaround is to paste to a notepad and fix              Great viewer

I havent purchased any books yet but Ive been enjoying walking through the thousands of free classic games you can download from Chessopolis Wish there was a moviestyle play button though                 Great so far

Good But other apps have better interface Worst flaw no option to restore purchases I will buy no more unless this is changed        Cannot restore purchases

App usually acts like it is loading a game but then returns to iPad screen with the entire app closed No error message I like Everymans chess books and a mobile app is a great idea Too bad they are unable to market a useable product     fails

I am enjoying it However when exit and returning I loose my place Should have at least a bookmark feature It is still worth 4stars in my book thanks to the developers for this app              Awesome

This is a very good app and im sure it will get better Its a very effective way to learn chess and There are tons of good books available I would only change a few things I would make the board realizable and I would make the move buttons on the sides where you place your thumbs when you hold the iPad or device As it is now the move buttons are way down on the lower left side of the window not very ergonomic It would be nice if you could just go from page topage and chapter to chapter like Eplus chess app does instead of having to open a new game every timeother than that it a very good app4 12 stars Another nice feature would be to have the option to turn of the variations till you are familiar with the main line and then come back to the variations Otherwise every other move you asked to pick which variation you want to continue with Kind of distracting if you ask me              Good app

You get a PGn player and when combined with any of the free games online you get an amazing database                 Totally worth it

Now I can study chess and play through the games as I read one of the many excellent chess books available through this app The only thing that might improve it is to connect those games to a chess engine                 This is the app Ive been waiting for

I like the app for browsing PGN files on my IPad and the Everyman chess books are great but PGN files created in other programs sometimes fail to parse              A good App but needs more robust PGN parsing

Dont listen to the haters These are the real books put out by Everyman chess Ive stopped buying paper books This lets you follow the variation out to the end on the play by play board and once the variation is over press 1 button and you are back where the line split to the variation Flip board to see from white and black Best app by far for chess books                 Outstanding

Wonderful                 Great PGN Viewer with Annotations

Overall a good application but it has various pitfalls such as the text being too small it is also arranged in games rather than pages like in a book taking away the book factor of it which I want to retain also the variations popping up are also quite annoying Everyman Chess should look up to Gambit on how to produce excellent chess ebooks Although Gambits books are in smaller quantity the quality of the app is far superior to Everyman chess viewer Firstly the books feel and look like actual books there are pages and the text is larger and customizable along with several other things Everyman Chess Viewer is overall a good and efficient application but needs some improving like being more userfriendly           Good app but some downfalls
