I have been wanting a cursive writing app that mimics the style of cursive I teach my children Abeka as a home school parent This is it The letters are almost exactly the style of penmanship I teach I love how the app is about just tracing and practicing It does not tell my child they traced incorrectly or make them try again This helps with the very minor differences in letter formation that my children write There is an option to have the dashed lines separating the downstairs from the upstairs removed which is great for my oldest as he is beginning to progress in not needing all of the guides Where the children can write words I would like to choose the number of letters in the word As my youngest is just starting out in cursive I would like to give her only 3letter words to try If the developers could design it to actually allow the user to choose any word that would be amazing                 Almost exactly what Ive been looking for

My 6 yr old will sit with this app for a long time is very easy to use and seems to entertain while teaching              Good App

Save your 99 I wish I had read the only review here before I purchased this The flow of the tracing line is slow and jerky it does not keep up with your finger or stylus Its an invisible line and then all of a sudden the writing appears a few seconds later What I thought Id like about it is that you can use the keyboard to type your words and the child can trace those cursive words I was using it for first and last name practice something you cant find with just ABCabc practice     Too slow jerky

I am excited to use this with both my kids who dont learn cursive in school and with my stroke patients at work who are learning to write again and benefit from all fine motor practice                 Great for adults and kids

This app does not help learning cursive When tracing the letter the line is slow to show up and there is nothing to keep the student from improperly writing the letters or just drawing all over the screen I do like the idea of being able to type in a sentence for the student to trace but at this point it is only good for helping a child see what their words look like in cursive     So slow

I agree with Teachers review This app has different character formations for letters words and sentences Additionally the connections between characters do not follow standard rules they dont even match the form used for practicing individual letters I dont believe this app should be used exclusively for teaching cursive to a child I do however like the individual letter forms and they have been excellent in teaching my son the look of the cursive alphabet in the more traditional style He is too young only 4 to overcome the temptation of scribbling all over the screen so it has not been helpful in teaching him the movements to create the letters himself I have found it helpful for improving my own writing I enjoy practicing my letters as I demonstrate for my son I like the simple uncluttered screen If the character fonts were consistent I would rate this higher           Inconsistent letter fomations

Very nice app if possible to consider in the future update the ability to print out for tracing the letters to practice on real papers with real pen also the enable the user to correct the letter without erasing the whole word              Wonderful app

I recently broke my right arm Im having to learn to write left handed I know how to make the letters I just needed practice This fits the bill Thanks The ability to print outemail results and adjust font size would be nice Still a great app                 Exactly what I need

This app incorrectly teaches handwriting When you write individual letters it correctly has you end letters like o and b at midline When you write words it incorrectly has you nearly return these letters to baseline These letters still need to end at the midline and the next adjoining letter is then started at the midline In is conflicting in its teaching and it teaches these skills incorrectly     Teacher

This is a wonderful app Its user interface is easy to navigate and friendly to both parent and child The art of cursive handwriting will live on through though apps such as this so I definitely encourage recommend this app to anyone whos looking to find a well built intuitive educational supplement As for the person who made the comment of this apps cursive technique not being modern you might want to reference your opinions before you make such a claim As for the cursive letters that appear midair An educated person would understand that because certain letters in cursive carry over to provide a clean transition into the next that if you start a word or sentence in a lower case letters that it is to be expected Lastly to include a punctuation mark simply type it in And if you need to write a 40 word cursive sentence then I believe youve misinterpreted the functionality of the app Go back to pen and paper and resubmit your review via USPS                 Fabulous Fun

I just downloaded this and tested it out but my 2nd grader hasnt tried it yet The letters match those on the practice sheet by he school and when practicing words they connect to each other properly unlike a free app I saw that really only let you practice individual letters I love that you can type in your own words or sentences to practic names and spelling words but it also has a good list of preloaded words to practice I think shell enjoy getting to do her homework on the iPad                 What I was looking for

I wish it would grade my students work so I know how they did because I cant stand there and watch the student do it and the student cant save it to a file on the app           Grading

I got this to try out for my kids I tried it my self and it works great and looks really nice too I tried a few others and found this one the most complete and its easy to use Very professional appearance unlike others we tied Thanks                 Great app

Im no teacher so I dont know the specifics of what should or shouldnt be taught to a third grader Yet for my daughter whose school will not be teaching cursive writing this is a great app I found this app after realizing that my daughter is not able to read my handwriting if I write in cursive I recommend it I didnt download any other apps but just from reading reviews of other apps I can say this one seems to be the best choice of whats available I opened it up and tried it Works great              Nice app

I dont know what version of cursive this is but it is not current Sentence writing does not include punctuation and do not allow for enough space between the words The letters start mid air not on a line which is very confusing Disappointing        Disappointing

I was seeking an app that had cursive letters to trace to improve my handwriting Right away I sensed my writing improving and felt compelled to write something positive here The letters seem to be built up from basic script strokes As I traced the letters I found myself repeating the same movements This gave my writing a flow which is exactly what I was seeking This a basic app with graphics reminiscent of the kind of books I traced back in second grade almost a halfcentury ago Its appeal is in the subtle attention to detail                 Good App Worth Getting

This app is a good idea but would be better if it used the more modern version of cursive This version is too loopy and not the style taught in most schools           Too loopy

Disappointing Student can scribble anywhere on the page instead of drawing the modeled letter and the app just goes on to the next letter with no correction required or offered And even for a highly motivated student the interface is pretty boring Certainly not any sort of game I deleted it        Disappointing accepts scribbles all over the page

Thought I could load word in it for spelling list and not many sentences     Disappointed

Although this is a good start it is not usable for teaching handwriting or for practice The letters are too large They should be the same size commonly found in cursive workbooks If the user places their hand on the screen which is good practice when writing on paper the touch sensitive screen will not allow the user to write The app needs to work equally well for left or righthanded users        Not usable for children yet
