I have tinnitus and am very sensitive to noise This app lets me determine whether ambient sound is merely annoying or destructive to my hearing Thanks to the developer for this app Does what I need enb14
It is helpful I don t know how accurate it is but it does give me some guidance for evaluating sound levels Musician Baysfever
It s been a good tool for doing sound in the club but I m not sure of it s accuracy after 109 db use it all the time at work Sound CBqn
Fanstastic DB meter lmanon
I work in potentially noisy environments and dB Meter Pro is a VERY easy and intuitive app to give management input on areas that need noise control attention Great app Tahoe Beckey
App cant access microphone on iPhone X DB Meter Pro ss16384
There is no way to enable microphone access with iPhone X Needs Microphone Access E.L.MM
Can access microphone Not working with new OS on iPhone 7 Keeeeeebb
App keeps asking to allow access to the microphone but there s no option in setting to allow Just Siri and mobile data Keeps asking to allow microphone panteradrummer
The update that just occurred does not request mic access Thus the app can t take sound readings nor is there a way under privacy microphone to turn it on I love this when it works Latest Update fails to request mic access avi155
Seriously one of the coolest apps I love to show people It s really helpful and really well built Developers always keep it updated And I dig the new features Definitely a good app to get Well made quality app Matches5959083
Latest version greets you with an error message that can t access the microphone even though access is granted Can t access microphone ak01q
Fun and useful Just used the app to decide on a new car for my wife who is sensitive to noise Even though I don t use it professionally I keep finding handy uses for it Great App works perfectly and I keep finding new uses xMontaigne
The app is nice but stop wanting a review Quit asking Spentmoney$
Handy app to have It s surprising how much ambient noise we have trained ourselves to ignore every day No wonder everyone over 60 has a hearing aid Convenient Mslo Mom
Works well Can you get measurements up to 140 dB This one seems to max out around 105 Try breeding parrots loudest noise you ll ever hear and live to talk about it Decibel Douggieboy2001
Good screening tool to see if advanced testing is needed Good screening tool [Louie]
I downloaded dbmeter pro along with one other decibel reader program I also have a handheld decibel reader that I have used for some time The dbmeter pro program consistently recoded readings 15 a 20 decibels less than the other two Common logic tells me that when I am in a room where the music is very loud the other program as well as my hand held recording 90 dbs are much more accurate than the average 74 reading on dbmeter pro Readings are way too low Moneeman
This is one of the better DB apps out there Good app xandoor
I compare this app to a professional decibel reader and the readings were significantly less Didn t work for me Climerda
Like using the app to help me decide how loud I can monitor stuff Works just fine Does what it needs to do Eduardo Salvador
Too buggy Constantly crashes Too buggy Jacfla2
Yes they really are as awful as they seem and with this app you have the data to prove it Also if you have inconsiderate neighbors you can document that A fun little app that delivers on its premise Fun for restaurants DCJon
Was a 5 star audio testing utility prior to its update which has severely crippled the functionality and usability experience making a simple task like a Tone Sweep cumbersome and annoying Check out Signal Generator by Media Punk Studios for a fantastic audio testing utility which closely resembles this applications interface before it was updated and destroyed Do not update or Purchase 'Austin'
Didn t get a chance to try it yet was asked to rate it Gave it one star it did open correctly Haven t tried it Kepawa
Good way to measure my hearing level against the reading detected from this app I can tell just by listening just how loud or quiet my surroundings are Still Works Well brahim-el
After paying before I even measure a single sound Dev wants me to do more for him Screw what I want or need my phone should be used for his benefit and I should write an ad without even seeing the app Well alright this is my honest experience so far I rated I did what you asked accurately and honestly We good now Can I use my phone for me now or do you want anything else Pop up and let me know if I can do anything else for you Nags Me To Rate As Soon as I Open It Seattle Rex
Very accurate no complaints Great app Elmanoazul
If you re trying to get your speakers placed Just Right this app will help you spot dead zones and bright reflective spots As an added bonus it is a great tool in teaching your child the difference between talking and yelling Highly recommended Great app for audiophiles and others Kenaz Filan
I used this app to determine workplace safety for noise issues from pumps and machinery It was quite accurate when compare with established standards used by our compliance group Great app Pmwslo
I checked this app against 3 db meters from local stereo shops and a radio sh ck It was very consistent and accurate within the levels the built in mic allowed I love it and use it often Great jod and thank you Davehammer44 d.hammer
When I don t have my actual meter handy this is great for a ballpark calibration of your monitoring setup No complaints /-
I like this app and use it in my work and recording I like the more recent update as well Measure how loud I can shout about this app Sniped by app creators
Seems to work fine Its good I like it
This jumps all over the place Set to 10db and puts me at 75db just talking in my car This is fraudulent way of taking money from people and fake reviews Apple should go after scammers like this and give us credit for the cost of the app Waste of Space
worked when first downloaded and stopped after the latest ios update No response at all I even deleted and reinsyalled the app stoped working
It seems ok but not sure why dead silence is registering at 50db Also not in love with the loading screen being an ad on a paid app Its ok
I was able to document the extent of a loud too loud noise of a new furnace Does what I needed
How is me sniffing 100 db I dont know much about decibel meters But that seems a BIT suspect to me Im confused
It doesnt do average at all average is actually current ambient noise level Wow cant believe this costs a dollar Terrible
APP gave dB readings consistent with handheld audiometer but APP is more convenient Sound rating
Works as expected Work great
Nice and convenient to have with an iPhone for testing things Was able to get attention brought to a couple problems with the dB level to backup a claim that something wasnt working right in the workplace Theres obviously professional grade gear for this type if thing but this is handy for 1 minus the price of an iDevice Pretty good
I checked this app against 3 db meters from local stereo shops and a radio shck It was very consistent and accurate within the levels the built in mic allowed I love it and use it often Great jod and thank you Davehammer44
With all the reviews I expected more Not remotely accurate I dont need it dead nuts but silence should be close to zero and it runs around 40db even fully adjusted down It will probably still work for what I got it for exhaust db comparison but some accuracy would have been nice Certainly not accurate enough to state what dbs an exhaust creates A bit disappointed
responds to sound Nothing more crap worthless
Easy and a pleasure to use Perfect
Doesnt seem very accurate on this iPhone 5S Never goes below 46 dB no matter how quiet the environment really is and never goes above the high 70s no matter how loud Its as though the iPhone is performing autoleveling and this app is not accounting for that Huge oversight Inaccurate
Worked great for years but is unresponsive after upgrading iphone to iso8 Quite working with ios8
This decibel meter is not accurate and has not been updated for years It does not capture hi decibels and is inconsistent Not sure where all these good reviews are coming from Waste of money No update since 2012 and not accurate
Wow I am trying to get the whole city of San Clemente CA police force to use these decibel meters so that they can ticket ultranoisy cars motorcycles and trucks And especially those vehicles with the bass set so low that the whole neighborhood around it vibrates and dogs go nuts howling I actually took readings around town with it to prove that a proposed rooftop nightclub would be waaaay too noisy for our residential part of town As a result our city turned down the rooftop nightclubs proposal Using THIS decibel meter because it is so accurate Decibel Meter Rocks
The meter shows 60db in a totally quiet room It responds to noise but is not at all calibrated and thus is useless Dont waste your money This app is a scam
I just play with it but a fun toy Db
Totally silent room shows 45 decibels on my 6 Not working
It crashes when you try to calibrate Deleted Rubbish
Back story I have the iPhone 4S The plan was to measure the noise in my car going 60 mph Then test drive new vehicles at the same speed and compare the new with the old and the new with the new Ultimately getting a better picture as to which has the more quiet interior Heres the problem it wont start at zero With no sound the calibration set at 1000 the best I can hope for is 37 Dont waist your This good news is regardless to the number I can still get a comparison Sub Par
No option to engage the internal microphone so there is no reading Shame Too bad
A graph would have been nice but it works very well Regarding accuracy keep in mind that its using the iPhone iPad mic which is not exactly a sound engineering miracle Dont expect the same level of accuracy you would expect from a hardware SPL meter A lot of the critics complain about seeing 4050 db in a socalled quiet room Unless youre in a vacuum you will get some sound pressure level its normal Read the description before critic sing this or any other db mater Tech support was also very helpful Got some clear explanations from the app developer Nice app works well
Never worked from the start Does not work
Save your money and look elsewhere Always reading around 50dB on an iPhone 6 Apps like this make me wish I could get a refund Incorrect readings
iPhone and iPad show 10 dbs difference Its ok
Bought it twice for Iphone 5 not working Worked fine with Iphone4 Iphone5
I expected this to work on my new iPhone but its just a dead meter No movement of the needle at all as of December 2014 Fix it please Zero stars Does not work on iPhone 6
Nice but better instructions would help Not bad
I am a sound engineer and rely on volume levles to keep from damaging the ears of people that are listening to shows I needed a DB meter and didnt have one for a spot check This app I could tell from experience was reading low When tested against my usual Db meter it was almost 25 Db lower than the actual SPL This is unacceptable and this app should never be used for critical listeningor as one reviewer said to ticket exceptionally loud vehicles this app is not worth the money Worst app ever
Doesnt work Wish I could have a refund for the worthless crap Junk
When it first was released it worked very well After many updates it does everything but pick up sound It does the fancy rotate but nothing more Major fail Customer support was useless Used to work
This app has not been updated in almost two years May 2012 It looks nice but its not using the additional screen space of the last three iPhone models iPhone 5 5S and 5C have fourinch displays The result is a black bar at the top and bottom of the app when using it on an iPhone 5 5S or 5C Im giving it three stars for functionality but not granting any more because it appears that the developer has abandoned the app Ill be happy to give it five stars if the developer updates the app to support a fourinch screen Abandoned by Developer
I downloaded this app to test the interior noise level in my 2012 Camry prior to having the car sound proofed According to this meter the car idles at 50db and averages 55db at highway speeds This is contrary to Edmunds car specs which measures the 2012 Camry at 40db idling and 64db at highway speeds using an actual db meter Thats a pretty significant difference Another db app on the App Store seems to work great though Its called db Meter red and black icon That app nailed the 40 db idling and 64 db highway speed dead on I did give this app an extra star for a really great UI though If the devs fix the functionality Ill definitely update to 5 stars Not very accurate
I am very pleased with the meter It is responsive and consistent Exactly what I wanted Impressive meter
You will not be disapointed Will worth it Cool App
Works great could use some additional features for kicks but seems to work great Simple and effective
iPhone 5s Does not work whatsoever Have fiddled with it for an hour and it says nothing but 0 Does not work
I got this app because it had worked for one of my friends and I needed it for a project but when I got it it wouldnt open and also wouldnt work It may have not cost much but it still irritates me that it doesnt work Please fix it I dont want others to have the same problem I did and waste money like I did Doesnt work Waste
Does not work on my phone Dollar down How do you get a refund Engineer
Downloaded this over the cellular network because I needed a DB reading quickly It didnt work and still doesnt Fancy interface but doesnt give any readings at all Save your dollar the old adage you get what you pay for applies and I guess I made a charitable contribution Junksave your buck
if developer cant update for 4inch displays or still support the app they dont deserve the money very old no 4 inch display support
I used to have a Radio Shack Decibel Meter until someone borrowed it and failed to return it In these days of the Mega Churches people need to know if the musicianssound board operators are turning out a rock concert volume or not Many people involved in the music industry have already damaged their hearing so badly that they dont know they are destroying yours too This tool is also useful for industries such as textiles and printing Very useful tool
Does not work Junk Do not buy JUNK
Im installing sound deadening insulation in my car and wanted a definitive before and after measurement I drove down a stretch of highway near my home at 55 MPH before and after installing the insulation and was able to see the results on my phone I did the tests three times and the results were very repeatable Great app
I looked at a ton of different apps before I purchased this one Its a nice app and its accurate I only wish I could record db file and save it For this reason it gets a 4 Wish it could record
If youre reading this then you already know many others like me appreciate Decibel Meters app I use it at work all the time to gauge the level of our music and avoid potential conflicts with our tenants and neighbors Decibel Meter Pro works very well Even though its interface is not 100 transparent at first I hope that you too can enjoy their helpful product Thanks Tuxedo Keep the neighbors happy
