I kept old iPod touches around just to keep running the old version Im glad they have updated it for the newer iOS The version starts simple and works its way up graduallyto fiendishly difficult Great fun and highly customizable THE best pitch trainer

Option to turn off introno root note for a more difficult training Practice function where you can just press the keys to hear the pitches before playing the actual game Fix the random thing so that it doesnt repeat same note or play the root note more than once Settings option to select which octaves the note can be played on for setting how difficult you want it to be Its a great app but really needs these things and the price is pretty ridiculous to be honest What it needs
This is how my ear training class is taught and I wanted an app where I could practice A few notes I wish there were a couple different cadence options and the option to have multiple notes per cadence in the as we have daily note tests where we get 5 notes per cadence but only diatonic notes Also wish there were more octaves of notes With just the 1 its too easy to hear if its a high note or low note and judge based on that Havent had much time to use it but no crashes yet Overall does what I need 5 stars if those options are added Good

This was the best program for ear training for a long time but it was broken for a few years maybe since iOS 7 I even kept my old iPad not upgraded just to use this app It was that good I figured development was just abandoned as the website seemed to be gone Then I saw that the granddaddy of ear training apps finally got a rewrite a month ago So thrilled I cant tell you how sad I was when I thought this app was gone I wish I wasnt without it for two years but the new version makes it worthwhile Charlie Banacos ear training method lives on Thank you Finally A great update
I just finished the Notes I beginner section and have noodled around in the other levels to see what Im in for This is simple but not easy took me a lot of focus and is already helping me get my ear back I used to be able to sightsing like 15 years ago and Im working on immersing myself in musical language again I went back to finish the last section of Notes I after a couple of days away and it took me a lot of tries yes embarrassing It might have helped if I went back a section or two to warm up first but it was also worth it to keep trying each time I got one wrong Worth way more than 2 Excellent tool
Seems to be improving my clarity already bc Im singing the pitch as I go and seeing my speed improve I never buy apps but I feel like I got my 2 worth already just from the icon of Bach with a pencil in his ear Super addictive
Cant say enough good things about this program Its one of those things I didnt know I was looking for Use it during my commute to and from work and can already tell a huge difference after only a week I grew up playing music and have always been a little intimidated by pitch and am indebted to this app for helping me overcome that Props to the creator for making it practical and fun Highly highly recommended Love this app
Wellcrafted application Very pedagogical and it can be set to be fairly easy or quite challenging no matter ones level of skill at discerning component tones Not perfect though see other comments Works great

Im not a musician but Ive been curious about what one hears as a musician Now I know or at least Im getting there Great educational tool So enlightening
When I was in high school I used this method of ear training but that was 1992 and we didnt have smartphones So I used a tape recorder and recorded myself playing cadences F G C random notes and then Id speak the names of the notes repeating until I filled up the tape cadence random note note name and then Id listen to the tape and try to guess the notes before I heard myself say them This is an awesome automation of this process Highly recommend Perfect ear training method
Seems fairly obvious that youd have an option to take the time limit off but you guys didnt include that for some reason That would be much more helpful for practicing than having to restart the quiz every single time the time runs out Also have an option to deactivate the intro being played between every single question for more advanced users Cmon Good app But
