I have played this game a ton It s complex and takes a lot to learn it But thats fun for me I really enjoyed forging empires and learning about the world at the same time Forming Italy from Milan Rebuilding the Byzantine Empire was quite a story Conquering the new world as England And of course trying out tribes and hordes which rebel like crazy EU4 looks awesome and so does Crusader Kings two I really want to try those games out when I get a newer computer I have a Mac Book Early 2008 The update will not even go though on my computer                 Really Fun historical game Dhawkattack

This is pretty buggy and overall pretty horrible I am unable to change the video settings at all Also if you re into changing editing gamefiles you can t with this version as it s read only Go get the steam version If you waite for a sale you could pick it up for 2 3 Works perfectly and also can be modded if that s what you like Only downside is that the Heir to the Throne and Divine Wind expansions aren t available there which is fine they don t add that much value anyways     Go with the Steam Version zazenzach

I played and loved Europa Universalis 1 2 but stopped playing games on my computer for a few years When I saw version 3 was available I jumped but I wish I hadn t The tutorials are terrible and yes as an experienced player of the previous versions I need tutorials The introduction to the interface is sparse but decent enough Then comes the indiscribably bad tutorial on units Sure I made an army and the tutorial recognized that Then I moved it to Brandendurg Nope the tutorial doesn t know I did that So ends the first tutorial The second is about colonization which I sorta figured out but guess what Yep the tutorial doesn t guide me any further Meanwhile this game was ported by one company and semi supported by another It is supposed to include several extra games that were originally extra content but it doesn t I gather one must first get a registration number and register the game with Paradox but that s a Paradox because the registration number comes from Virtual Programming which seems to take weekends and Mondays off Maybe more than that I don t know Without the tutorials I m at a loss Maybe I ll re rate the game in the future but for now if I could give it a negative star rating I would And now I m off to rate another game the game that returned me to Mac games Xcom Paradox and Virtual if you are paying attention this is how you do it right     Support is Beyond Miserable davidwb

The game works great on my Macbook Pro I had no trouble downloading it and it plays wonderfully The game covers all the aspects of empire building I enjoy from resource management to invasion The game contains a wealth of different countries to try out which is really cool This allows me from saving money from having to buy several different games I m very pleased with this purchase My only complaint is that there is no manual perhaps on the website                     Excellent Bigby80

This game is very good as you run a nation and try to balance all your talents into creating an empire without accumulating to much infamy taken for every province you have that is not a core I have a couple suggestions but the game is excellent First of all Castille always becomes a superpower especially in Africa I now hate Castillian Africa Second Russia rarely forms Give those nations a chance Third either England or France will ALWAYS collapse I have literally never seen France become a great power Fourth army administration and national administration is very limited It annoys me that you only have to have 1 or 2 generals because they can teleport around the world in a second And it also annoys me that when I want to supply and fund ONE unit or one army I have to supply my entire force There are no ministers in the gov and the monarchs importance is limited Also there are no governers in the provinces the king can t do everything Lastly I feel like I am often sitting around waiting for my infamy to go down If the government administration was there I would have much more fun during peacetime But mostly great fun Excellent game These are just my annoyances but I am more of a micromanger than most people                     Excellent Game very in depth Michael194

This is an excellent game that deserves five stars But if you are a newcomer to strategy games then I would try to find something else like Civilization 5 When I first started playing this game I was very dissappionted because they didn t give much in depth tutorials Same with Victoria 2 and Hearts of Iron 3 Overall this game is quite amazing once you get used to it I enjoy playing it espesally when I play as lets say Castille and try to unite Spain Or playing as Bavaria and unifying Germany                     Excellent game for people who are really good at strategy games Z person

When I was thinking about buying this game I was afraid that it would be too complex and too hard for me to manage I ve played alot of strategy games like the Total War series Civ and Age of Empires including many others Another game that I bought recently Heart s of Iron III at that had so much depth and complexitiy I couldn t play it That was my fear with this game Now that doesn t mean that if you have never played a World Domination Strategy game you would definitly struggle with this There are many manuals to help and I picked up the basics and was able to really start playing after about an hour The game is alot of fun and I reccomend it to anyone who likes the Total War series or Civ because it is almost a splice between the two It is alot of fun and worth the money                     Great Game Jack33442431

This game is a shining example of good strategy gaming It is deep and you will spend some time understanding the mechanics reading the manual helps a lot but once you get a hold on of the mechanics it is a breeze Then it transforms itself into a game where you can spend half an hour tweaking your empire and quit If you are for the long haul you can spend hours dwelving deep into micro management and still have a lot of fun The best thing about this game is how it differentiates itself from other strategy games by teaching you that war has a cost and you pay for it whether you started it or you were the victim It doesnt matter if you are the most powerful empire in the game world if you wage war you will pay for it War weariness Revolts instability and less tax money So you have to carefully deploy your strategy and micro manage both the economy and diplomacy to manage the effect of war I love this game                 Deep enough to spend hours casual enough to spend a few dirty turns on your lunch breaks Malabogia

This is 100 stars for those who have played many stragety games and its not for NEW players because their is just too much micro manage so a NEW player might not know how to handle this or might get ticked off because s he might not know what they are doing Now for those who are experienced if you like Civ and total war games might just rock your socks Its very much like CIv in the sense of battles managing and advancements technology only difference is that it uses the whole world like Total War and that it goes in depth in managing The difference with total war is the battles you actually don t command battles but you have no limits to choose a country I mean you could even be China Iraq Mexico Hati and hundreds more For Total war players if you are willing to give up the cammanded battles for extra managment I recommend to buy and play You will be addicted for hours For example I started one day at 10pm and before I knew it it was 5am Also for both Civ and Total war players its not a turn based game but you can control how fast you want time to pass For Total War players controlling time is like how we control time during battles In a nutshell buy it if you like how battles are in Civ managment in Total War being able to go wherever in the world to colonize and the NO LIMITS on what country to be go for it BTW you have a little more than 400 years to play from 1399 somewhere in the early 1800 plus you can choose when to start your campain For instance You can choose before England colonized to colonize yourself or choose after England Colonized your in control I NOW LOVE THIS GAME                     100 stars if I could $zzz$

This is an extremely detailed and complex historical simulation of the difficulty of managing almost any historical country you can choose in the time period The politics technological development and the difficulties of running an Arabic Chinese Japanese The holy Roman Empire or other country are unique to each country There are so many possible games within the game to play that it will consume your interest if you can manage the complexity of the game I love it                     If you like Civ you will love this game cellogame

This game has a wonderful story conceit fantastic depth of actions and it is wonderfully impossible to play It s not that the game is too hard It s that the interface is attroious Popups appear with annoying regularity It is difficult to maneuver military units The map scrolling and zooming is erratic The various menus are not well organized Abbreviations are used in the game with no explanation as to purpose There is no accompanying documentation The tutorial is insufficient It is too bad this fantastic concept is burdened by bad execution     Horrible Interface Ebatti

Don t get me wrong I love Europa Universalis 3 but for all the problems the game had when first put on the App Store it was still good and playable The latest update changes that breaking selection of your armies and fleets and getting information about enemy armies and fleets The latest version does speed up performance and adds some nice new features like additional map modes but it doesn t matter when you face all these issues with one of the most important elements of the game It used to be that you would just hover over a unit to get information about it and could then click it to select no longer though as you now must zoom in to such a high degree that you can see the little 3D model to get any information about it And even this can be a little fiddly and is definitely a major issue when fighting wars or just dealing with reorganizing your forces Hopefully Virtual Programming or Paradox will fix this bug quickly Once this truly terrible bug is fixed I m sure you ll find EU3 to be great fun a sandbox ish type of game where you can point your country to almost any goal you so desire but until then it s mired in tedious zooming in and out         New game breaking bugs in this version RAB2R
