iBeams HD - Art Light Show and Music Visualizer

Worth it for the sound mode                 Sound mode is awasome

This is an impressive visualizer with touch sensitivity motion sensitivity and best of all you can build your own visuals The controls are infinite and you can program most parameters for to motion touch or sound control Plenty of different particles and of course you can map your own transmitter receiver layout for some great custom designs Very easy to use Itll give you all the control over your AV show youd want There is nothing you cant adjust Its amazingly thorough I have tried them all and this is the best if you want total control Other apps have some neat visuals but none have the power of this app to do you bidding The HD version is even more complete with more programming options The best of which IMO is the ability to place moving transmitters on a grid rather than moving relative to just the center It also has a great spirograph draw feature Well worth it The only thing this version is missing that the iphone ipod version has is the new 3D camera view mode Looking forward to seeing it A few things Id like to see in the future that would really make this a pro app some notes might best apply to the HD version The UI is a little tweaky in that its hard to be exactly precise Sometimes the buttons dont respond Not bad if your just tripping out but if youre trying to use it at a live performance its annoying I wonder if tweaking the iPhone and iPad versions similar to how apple mail works on those devices A familiar but different UI for the devices might make for a better trip as it were Maybe a single control panel or drawer on the iPad version Rather than can overlay the visuals or perhaps it would be better to stretch the visual window when the control panel is open Hmmm Bringing me to my next point maybe a different scheme for the circular touch controls would make small adjustments easier It would be nice to have a programable slider bank instead of just the two finger circular touch dials Id also like to see a user preset bank of buttons so its easier faster to make changes during a live show The scroll menu isnt very smooth but if I could program a button or buttons now that would be a trick The ability to share your programed visuals between the iPad and iPhone iPod would be great For programming without speakers it would be great if the visuals also worked without the microphone and just through the library so you can use headphones Theres a boring visualizer called iseemusic that does this but its lame in comparison to ibeams You just stare at it and the visuals are repetitive The video out is a little tricky but I have a feeling that future iOS updates will give the Dev more control Itll certainly give us better quality on iPhone 5 and iPad 2 Hopefully HD I only have the composite cable kit Hopefully the component kit I ordered gives me better quality so my main beef is that there is a strange sequence of starting iTunes launching the app and plugging in the av cable that I would like to see disappear Also it would be great if the mirror mode worked with the video out Not sure why it doesnt but its kind of a disappointment that it doesnt And of course a few new particles would be great Im thinking of the quality of an effects package like digi effects so maybe Im dreaming but its what I use when I need something robust Keep up the great work This is an amazing visual app thats only going to get better                 Simply Amazing Even better than the iphone version

I like the app but I cant send audio to my speakers through my airport express with it Please add this and the app will be more useful to me The iPad speaker is crappy compared to the HiFi           Doesnt work with AirPlay

If you are looking for a Visualizer for your iPhone or iPad look no further this is it I have had iBeams and Gravilocity for several days now and I have been completely fascinated with both They offer many tools to create seemingly endless variations of light visuals that are often surprisingly interactive and beautiful I have found options to play visuals with or without music in either case the the visuals are equally dynamic Music played from an outside source or iPhone speaker is recognized by the mic which can be adjusted extensively The video walk through does clarify some controls It may still some time to learn how to manipulate all the controls there appears to be dozens of options and even more variables to the options Either way I am having a blast just trying them all out If you are interested in light visuals get iBeams and Gravilocity Both are powerhouse interactive light visual displays that will give you what you are looking for and way more than you would expect                 Powerful Interactive Visualizer

I rarely ever post this kind of a review but I have to say that this is a lot of fun I work with classical or electronic music and a timer going and tend to do so for hours at a time Its nice to have a little action going to keep the mind fresh and this is a great little bit of live art to have there while you work On a iPad retina display it looks amazing Good app iBeams                 Worth it GREAT Visualizer

To be honest I was looking for a good color organ to keep me entertained during audiobooks and music tracks For this it is adequate maybe a little complicated for the casual user But as I began playing with the software it revealed itself a wonderful multi phasic multi vector environment where a single intersecting event can effect vectors of completely separate spacial events Great for imagining dimensional constructs              Wonderful tool for imagining complex vector relationships

Excellent app I use it often and anticipate using it for concerts                 Best visualizer

Everything it says it is and more Endless variations It will hook you from the very first time                 Fun stuff

Only prob with this app is that you can tweak it so many ways itll drive you to madness Great stuff here dig it                 Love It

I updated my iPad Feb 1 2011 and all it does is crash now I was enjoying it and using it often until I updated it Please try to fix this update for iPad Firmware 322 Yes since I texted you last about text above You have sent an update Well that update did not fix the crash on launch of app Please fix or let me go back 2 updates ago It was working fine then Thank you              Problem with new update

So far this app crashed once on my ipad air I think it was because I had the lite version This full version is the light fantastic So many different patterns and controls for the ultimate ipad visualizer experience This also worked with my 2nd gen Apple TV If you have ambient style music available prepare for virtual nirvana The random setting seems to change the pattern a bit too fast even when set to 1              Works great on ipad air

Im 59 yo and Ive just downloaded this app and Im reliving my days of college acid of never growing old and sweet lord Im having a good time Thank you Jobs                 60s again

Hard to describe its range of effects is a short review You have to play with it for about an hour before you can appreciate the total beauty and creative capability of this app Music is required to get the full effect Or you can just sit and watch it to your favorite tunes                 Awesome

The iBeams HD App is pretty awesome visually There are a number of good presets and lots of controls to mess with not to mention many you can manipulate directly by touching the screen However the major flaw with this app is that the music visualization part only works off the microphone input not when you have headphones plugged in Listen up iBeams HD developers better get this fixed for the next update              Almost perfect

I cant figure out the controls Maybe thats my fault but its not too intuitive A bookmarks kind of thing would be cool so I could select favorite settings instantly If it could react to the ipod music so I can use headphones it would be fantastic but it doesnt Maybe thats a limitation of the device But enough of my moaning the visuals are spectacular and there is some degree of user control and thats what matters Almost as cool as Jeff minters tripatron Please add some strobes and a more reactive kaleidoscopic finger cursor with trails please              Potentially 5 star but

Wow This is a spectacular visualizer The images and movement this generates are incredibly trippy and draw you in like nothing else Ive seen to date Makes me even more overjoyed to have an Ipad Jordan Rudess                 Absolutely the coolest

I am having a lot of fun with this app One does not have to understand the complexities of fractal math you just have to have an imagination and desire to have fun It is worth it to me                 Very much addictive

I have a bunch of these types of apps not including the various lite versions Ive tried 8 in all iBeams is easily the best all around Huge amount of control outstanding HD visualizations and the new interface really tidies things up making for a much better experience adjusting and experimenting with the loads of adjustable parameters The save photo function works flawlessly now which is a pretty big deal to me Playing music from your iPod library is painless and accessible right from the pop up tool bar which vanishes by the way so as to not interfere with the show Watching the beams dance about to whatever external sounds it picks up from the iPad mic is great Love iBeams You should too                 Of my 8 apps of this type this is 1 best in show

If my memory serves Apple has deigned their iDevices andor iOS to not allow internally the audio signal to be sampled or intercepted by an app allowing the internal audio signal to drive the apps graphics My iMac is the same way but there are utilities for the iMac to get around that design feature Therefore the app has to pick up the music audio using the devices microphone Thus headphones prevent the devices mike from picking up the audio I can spend hours tweaking the apps settings to see what amazingly dynamic video output I can create It as so many features and settings that I cant get my head around all of them What a nice problem to have                 Graphics and configurability is very good

Has great potential but lacks several things such as the ability to remove the green spin circle when you use 2 fingers or the static on screen polygon when mirrors is enabled Also would love to see some more multi touch features With all the menus and sliders there really isnt much to it when you try to interact with it on the touch screen           Needs some work
