I have used all the major icon generators I create icons for Windows applications on my Mac using Logoist and I export them to SVG files iConvertIcons generated the smoothest and most accurate icons from my SVG files of all of them I have tried Others have jaggy edges and and are not up to professional level This is a simple no frills program but if you want professional results then this is the one                     Smoothest Icons of All of Them Sosceo

The interface and usability of the program are top notch and everything seemed great until I compared the image quality of the original icon or PNG with the outputted content As other reviewers have noted there is a significant degradation in the color of icons created by this program The satuation and contrast are bumped way down and the colors are washed out and muted compared to the original image quality As another reviewer has noted this is not the case when using their online tool where the output looks identical to the input Just to be sure about the quality issue I tried every configuration along with every possible file format I could throw at it and everythng resulted in the same ruined icons Too bad because this program otherwise functions very fast and effieicently If you re just looking for fast and easy creation many icons from PNGs and aren t concerned about quality than this may be acceptiable but otherwise I HIGHLY recommend Icon Slate which I have bought and verified to produce icons with spot on image quality and is very simple to use It requires a few more mouse clicks to create new icons than this program but the options are better and the GUI is more refined and more importantly the icons look right         Poor image quality of created icons Peebot2020

I was initialy concerned about the application uploading icons to the developers website as cited by another reviewer privacy issues aside I wanted to use this app when not connected to the internet or when behind a restrictive outbound firewall When you first open the app it does try to connect to the developers website only to check your version against the current version to alert you if there is an update available It does NOT upload your icons to any external server for conversion I ve used the app on a series of icons and it converted them flawlessly                     Works Great and does NOT upload your icons anywhere boborama

This is a really great tool for converting icons from one format to another I have a handful of Windows apps games that I run under Wineskin which gives me a nice little Mac like app that runs the Windows app nearly seamlessly in OS X and after extracting the icon for those apps with another tool I then convert it to then Mac icns format with iConvert My sole beef with iConvert is that I don t have the ability to associate supported files of my choosing with iConvert You have to open the app then drag drop the file to be converted into iConvert s window It would make much more sense if I could associate say all ico files to open with iConvert so that a simple double click would be all I have to do to run my default conversion settings to icns of course This is a fairly minor quibble since this isn t something I do frequently but on the other hand I do it so infrequently that I almost forgot I actually had this app when the need arose This is the only thing keeping me from rating this 5 stars             Very handy tool with one minor gripe $1K Master

Like another reviewer I have an issue with the way in which the colors of the icon differ greatly from the original image When using specific colors to design the original image it is important to not have them arbitrarily changed in the output files when the highest quality settings are chosen Having purchased the app and generated my first set of icons I was not pleased and would have actually quite like to simply return the app for a refund             Icon Quality Steve Birtwistle

I get lots of icons for graphic design Often they are in custom folder icon format but Dropbox does not sync them to other Macs or PCs properly Only an empty folder shows up pain With iConvert I can drag any number of folders onto it and immediately have Dropbox syncable ICN files That it does this with an incredibly simple interface makes it all the better                     Simple Major time saver Nevermark

I recently had a need to create a Windows icon file Previous efforts with other similarly intended tools resulted in really poor quality icons at the smaller sizes in spite of a very high quality 1024 by 1024 source image Unusably bad actually I experimented with Adobe Photoshop to create replacement images for the icon file Nice results of course but this is not a scalable workflow I remembered I had iConvert Icons on my Mac and drag n dropped the high res png file onto the interface I took a look at the individual smaller images to assess the quality and found that they were comparable to those I manually created with Photoshop And you couldn t ask for an easier workflow                     Excellent Happy Customer 42

Easy as pie just dragged an svg file onto iConvert it asked me for a folder and Bam the files were created FYI I checked iOS app icons and it created png s in the following point sizes 29 29 2x 40 40 2x 50 50 2x 57 57 2x 60 60 2x 72 72 2x and 512 and 512 2x sizes not sure why the commenter below wasn t didn t get the 60 70 and 72 2x sizes it worked for me maybe the iOS app icons didn t get checked or I did notice there s a place in preferences Advanced format options where you can choose what sizes you what to generate maybe they were de selected there                     Super convenient saves time JoeSurfage

I had just spent all day looking for the perfect app to convert all my PNG images around 2150 P into actual ICO and ICNS icons Every other application I had tried either messed with the image colors or removed the alpha channel transparency from the image Then I stumbled across this gem on the Mac App Store and decided to give it a go and my was I impressed I dragged all 2150 PNG images into the apps drop zone specified an output folder then zooom In total it took me under 5 minutes to convert the all 2150 PNG images into both ICO and ICNS icons on my Mac Pro Not bad Not bad at all D                     First time user very impressed satisfied GCPDetective

i wanted to be able to quickly make icons for programming projects i m working on this app does the job with beautiful simplicity drag and drop the picture you want iconized and the app generates a folder with the name of the source image that contains icons of all the sizes needed for the applications that you check in the checkboxes on the home screen exactly what i wanted and a big time saver well worth 5 i should say i have only used it on a few images so i may perhaps come up with gripes in the future but for now as i say exactly what i wanted update after using more in converting images to icons this app maintains the existing aspect ratio i assume to avoid either distortion of the image or arbitrary truncation of a predetermined portion of it this means that if you want the image to fill the icon space you must first edit the image using other software so that it is square this can be done easily in iPhoto but if you do that you can just as easily export it as a png to any dimension you want thus i d have to reduce my rating to three stars or possibly lower             quick easy to the point Dwadelson
