The idea of this app learning bird calls is fantastic and AFAIK unique I know there are CDs you can buy from Sibley but supposedly they are impossible to learn from So if you re looking to learn this app is basically your only choice The content is superb Having said that the user interface is very dated and non standard Like from iOS4 It s not a complicated app so even a simple rewrite using the iOS10 APIs would be sufficient to make it a great app         Superb content but interface needs a rewrite YesNoCancel

I love this tool I ve recommended it to scores of fellow birders I use this daily because it is fun and I see results Results that have been very slow and easily lost using various CD tools like the Peterson guides and John Feith s guide The other apps in the same category are lacking in content variations within same species and instruction Michael O Brien s snippets are eerily good Are there bad things about this app Yes It would seem development has halted There have been no updates for the new iPhone screen sizes and no new content One might suspect the price is too low to fund any further attention Compare it to the BirdsEye family of apps that constantly ask for more money but do provide updates on a regular basis Grab a decent pair of headphones use this app often and enjoy the best deal in birding                     Miles ahead of competition King Eider

This is a great app for comparing similar bird songs It is a very enjoyable way to review birds with which you are familiar For unfamiliar birds it is a bit more challenging Yet with the scorecard on the side you can slowly but surely make progress I d recommend it to anyone learning to bird by ear                     Great App NCBirder
