You are suppose to purchase a bear first and theres a little chip that goes on the inside that records your babys heartbeat most likely done at ultrasound appointments this is app is connected to that bear and you hold the bear up to this app and then hit the record button while playing the babys recorded heartbeat thats in the bear I love it because instead of carrying the bear everywhere I just emailed to myself and now have it any where at any time Love it
