Couple of times per year I spend several hours almost randomly playing orphion just for myself                     Absolutely love it ĂŚjct

I uninstalled this app awhile back for some reason I ran across it again while doing a synthesizer search I re installed it because of the custom layout feature but now going to UN INSTALL it So I understand that developers rightfully deserve for their hard work and for nothing more than trying to keep up with all of the Apple guidelines and apples updates So when a developer gives an app for free it is very cool That is why I give this app the 5 stars But why charge for the thing that is in fact the key to this app being deferent and instead charge for maybe an expansion pack of sounds I mean you could really do some cool stuff with the design and sound packs would sell rather well Guitars a pack that includes nylon string steal string then move into Acoustic Electric leads rhythms ect Strings a pack that includes Cellos Violins Basses Violas With having the variation ability already built in the app this will allow for stabs long and short vibratos ect Percussions Drums a pack that includes Jazz Rock Ethnic drums Snare Kick Toms Hi Hat Cymbal crashes ect again the variation of finger tap pressure will allow a HUGE expanse of flavors to each drum The snare could have a roll as you slide your finger as you would for vibrato A rim shot if you tap hard and normal snare hit as a normal finger press         Good idea but in app purchase just to customize your own layout Thirdnail

I returned to Orphion again after not having played it in a while because being able to put the pads exactly where I want them triggering the exact notes I want with whatever synth voice I choose through virtual MIDI is just sweet I kept seeing this in the App Store but passed it by because I didn t think it was the kind of app I would like I was completely wrong While almost every musical app out there provides a tiny keyboard or set of pads Orphion provides pad layouts that are natural and ergonomic The creator of Orphion noticed something the others seem to have missed with a touchscreen we re not limited to a single input layout                     Nothing Like It ZenLizard

I love Orphion it lets you define your own instrument layout and assign pitch to each area Plus it detects hard and light touches and does something between the hit areas I haven t figured out but which adds to the variety of sounds you can get from this It also has something that might be a feature or a bug but when you play a lot of notes fast you can get unexpected harmonics and ringing I suspect it is intentional but no matter I love it I don t know of any other app quite like it                     I Love This App fgk

and I don t take making that statement lightly Orphion is as inspiring as Samplr it s that good It s one of the apps i can count on half of one hand that keep iOS an viable and invaluable music platform for me It s so simple nothing gets in the way of you connecting with Orphions sound or whatever you are controlling but for me I love orphions sound Something about it resonates deep within when I use it all you have to do is try it and you ll see what I m talking about It makes writing music effortless as it streams inspiration and keeps you in that zone at all times I m obviously not very good at articulating what I m trying to say through the view finder of a little review box but suffice it to say that I love this app and can only recommend it to you over and over again                     Orphion is one of the most inspiring apps in iOS Samplist

I considered a 4 star review because while I really liked the percussive pluck sound of Orphion as an instrument it s kind of a one trick pony in terms of sound output There are a lot of interesting newer apps Ondes comes to mind that combine an interesting touch interface with the ability to morph your sound But the app is only a few dollars and it s capabilities as a MIDI controller and a fairly customizable one at that make it pretty interesting You can even set it so that certain pads trigger MIDI while other ones play internal notes bass lead anyone It s not going to displace more feature heavy MIDI controllers in my collection like ChordPolyPad or Fiddlewax Pro But it s a great sounding quirkly little instrument with nice functionality The touch responsiveness to the pads with color feedback is very cool                     Unique instrument doubling as a great MIDI controller HouseOfHomuth

Ok I ve spent hundreds of dollars on apps looking for the best playing surface on the iPad My search is officially over This is it Expressive flexible and affordable Wonderful app Great built in sounds Works wonderfully as a midi controller to other instruments on the iPad and over wifi I use it to control the M3000 Mellotron sounds Nothing beats this This has truly retired my external midi keyboard Don t waste time and get this together with the Orphion Editor IAP                     The perfect playing surface on the iPad AndreXuxu

I mean how can it have been approved for so long then had the major feature of it unique sound and style cut out of it Kinda reminds me of a well known camera app that got the boot for figuring out how to use the volume switch to act as a shutter release Now lots of apps use that trick Just doesn t make sense why being able to sense the size of impact area on the screen is such a threat to any device after it was out there and working for so long Won t update my copy of this app until that feature is officially restored             Sadly now dead since IOS8 update GunShyCCTV

Even without the 99 cent IAP this app instrument has pad configurations galore in which one can change and manipulate notes With the purchase though you can basically Create your own pad configurations in terms of placement size notes holds crisp wet etc Initially I purchased as a percussion instrument and it is that plus an array of other unique and fully customisable sounds that I m enjoying If you like bass guitar you can get deep of the deep vibrate the walls kind of bass or completely subtle and that kind of range applies to whatever you want to achieve Also the developer was very responsive and on top of the whoIe IAP issue plus followed up which is always appreciated The same attention to detail and care is also abundant in this app                     Incredibly Full Featured and Unique Clurichaun

One of the best pieces of music software for this device This is a great step forwards for iPad musicians I look forward to the future of micro tonality within all of our scale locked pitch perfect precision Please don t stop developing this Bastus I don t believe in withholding stars from reviews in order to obtain future benefits this fully deserves six stars MIDI works so well with Sunrizer and addictive synth Why not have control surfaces for the modulation wheels since you have custom layouts anyway Please look at adding the pitch bender and the modulation wheels at the very least because I love the expressiveness of Orphion but I can t give those up I think most people feel the same I also think that you should have a bank of Orphion specific voices those like maybe Koto and Shamisen Lute and or the above synth s used to highlight the soft sensitive touches of Orphion specifically                     Expressive configurable unique buy it or lose a big slice of legit expressiveness The.Adam

If the story is correct Apple told this developer that he has to dumb down the technology in this app after they approved his app about 7 or so times That is just asinine This app is a truly wonderful music instrument because of its ability to express dynamics and pitch bending techniques This developer has really pushed ahead and made something unique that I didn t know the iPad could even do Why Apple would you punish that Apps like this are the reason that I bought an iPad for my music making Punishing developers who help sell your product by offering something unique is not good business and not advancing what your product is capable of Apple at the least I think you should grandfather clause the capabilities of this app as you ve already approved it as is But I REALLY think you should reconsider your decisions and tactics if you want to remain 1 in a few years I have no affiliation but I am a consumer who is looking for the best products instruments Dumbing down the iPad is illogical I think you re giving away an unnecessary opening for companies like Samsung and Google                     Shame On Apple 1dionysus
