This app has been fantastically useful for precisely designing my own patterns for peyote stitch beadwork and for designing my own fair isle knitting patterns It has a few drawbacks 1 any design file can use only about ten colors 2 it is not possible to draw a box to select a block of cells and 3 each time I switch from one pallet color to another the color picker toolbox opens That aside this app is delightful Choose rectangles if you are working with Delica beads choose brick or quadrangle any color you can imagine is available and you can add knitting crochet symbols over color patterns The grid is 100 x 100 and you can even highlight a row or column to mark your place as you work from your pattern I would definitely recommend this to my friends                 Very Useful For My Beading and Knitting Designs Solsticemoon

I love the idea However 1 To copy and paste a repeating section of your pattern you literally have to click every single square to select it which is extremely time consuming You need a grab function for users to draw around the multiple squares they would like to copy 2 There are no stitch labels to indicate what type of stitch you are drawing This app won t help you write patterns without any standard stitch labels Is it a crochet pattern Knitting Beads Is this a single crochet stitch or a knit stitch or a purl 3 The color selection panel is painful It needs a quick select function Every single time you want to change colors it bops up and asks you to refine the color you want also wasting time         Good effort not quite there yet DoodleBoodleNoddles

I need to do crochet charts and this seemed to be it It has symbols YAY But little functionality Created chart and tried to print but got message that there were too few stitches Added another row Was able to print but got vertical columns Not rows needed My search continues         Not too functional floita

I knit and I do bead weaving and chose this app to design some earrings I like that the toggle bead mode is available for this especially for brick stitch I would say it is perfect for me for knitting patterns and less complex beading patterns as the palette is limited The app creator Stefan has been awesome with quick feedback response and help This is a nice little app As a technical writer I would like to see more in the How to use app area but luckily Stefan is willing to help And I have been using it steadily for the last day or so and no crashes                 Nice Little App Mooshell11

Needs some work for the price The program needs a legend that names the stitch symbols It needs to be able to export selected symbols and their names so that these can be included in a published pattern It should be able to export directly to PDF The files should be able to be saved in a format that could be shared with other users of this program It needs much better documentation If a 100 by 100 pattern is exported 1 2 of the top 100th line is cut off             Needs work Takethisnameandshoveit

I had photos I wanted to convert to a knit pattern and I was able to paint over the picture and create a knit pattern This will also be very handy when I experiment with fair isle color patterns Occasionally a white square covered my work but it cleared when I refreshed Thank you                     Awesome One2travelfar

This app is by far the very best one for creating needlework patterns Although it was developed for knitting I use it exclusively for needlepoint and cross stitch patterns and am greatly impressed with all the functions The app makes it easy to try out designs and color combinations before stitching and the ability to select colors from photos is brilliant There is a highlighter bar to keep track of your stitching the share functions work perfectly and the huge number of symbols can be added on top of a color or used alone Also the customer service is unsurpassed I highly recommend this app for all types of needlework                     Extraordinary Vosslej3

This app works exactly as described Nice features are Continuous Draw Mode and Bead Mode There is a color wheel for choosing a specific color While I was hoping that Show Stitches would allow me to input the types of stitches used it does not Instead it brings up a preview of the colors as V s rather than blocks This is more of pattern chart maker than a pattern writer                     As stated RoRoBins

This does seem to be the best pattern charting app available but there is room for improvement I like the ability of this app to make color charts and even show the pattern in stitches but there are some functions that could be better 1 It would be nice if you could set the pattern area to a set number of cells 2 that you could change the orientation ie which corner row 1 column 1 is 3 Change the screen orientation to landscape or portrait 4 draw boxes borders around groups of cells as for a repeat portion 5 selecting for copying and pasting could be easier Instead of having to touch every box you want to copy the ability to drag a selection from corner to corner 6 It would be nice to have other symbols besides a color square even just text characters dots or slashes would be helpful             Room for improvement J-all

I recently purchased this app as it appeared to be the best option for pattern design in the App Store Once I started using it I discovered its limitations The app does not allow you to set the number of stitches you want in your pattern grid which makes it virtually useless for me The available pattern grid in the app is entirely too small It seems to be meant for small repetitive patterns not for larger intarsia design I hope the app designers address this flaw and issue an update because the app certainly does have potential         This app has potential but not there yet JHLMA

This is a simple app that does exactly what it says it does allows you to make color charts save the charts and reload them You can also upload an image if you want to start your chart from a photo In app printing would be nice but you can save the chart to your photo app and print from there                 I like it yonknits

This is a really easy useful app for a beginner pattern maker like me I don t care much for the black background and the squares are a little small but I love being able to pull colors from my pictures It helps me visualize what the pattern will look like when it s knit Great app                 Like it amylbri
