Some apps that enhance the cursor cause bad behavior in the standard Mac OS feature of Shift Cmd 4 and then space bar for camera icon Usually that allows capture of a window whatever window is pointed to turns gray then a click captures it When PinPoint Mouse Enhancer is active on my MacBook Pro w High Sierra 10 3 2 once the camera icon is showing as the mouse cursor the window does not turn to gray and a click only captures a small transparent rectangle A program that does not cause this bad behavior CursorEffect from the AppStore Another program that does also cause this bad behavior MyPointPro from the AppStore Hope that helps both purchasers try it out maybe it s OK for you or you don t mind losing this standard MacOS feature Hope that helps developers of this app     Conflict w Window capture on High Sierra 10 3 2 gratidudee

The pinpoint around the mouse defaults to ON and toggles OFF After that it will not toggle ON If one goes to its settings and simply chooses Always ON which it was anyhow then the toggle will work This is still the case after the last update And true after 3 7 12             TOGGLE WORKS JUST ONCE UNTIL SETTINGS USED dr-p

I adore PinPoint I only use one functionality the full screen crosshairs I have it set to toggle on and off with a single key stroke Any time I am looking at a plot which I do 100x a day I have a really easy way to read off values for the data points I ve been using PinPoint for about 8 years long before there was an App Store and at this point it is an essential piece of functionality that I require for my day to day work I wouldn t want to live without it 5 may seem pricey for that one functionality but it s like the perfect pair of jeans might seem expensive when you buy it but you get more use out of it than all the rest of your App wardrobe put together                     Essential for any scientist DataScienceGirl

I like the Red Arrow style the best at 0 5 transparency It allows me to see the mouse pointer without blocking the text or tool tip behind it Originally I wanted to use the pointer enlargement feature that is built into OS X but the enlarged mouse pointer when used in GarageBand actually blocked some important tool tips that were displaying the audio parameters A semi transparent pointer gives me the best of both worlds                     Works well yyl890

Pinpoint is simply indispensable for my MacBook Air use and became so much so that I installed it on my 27 iMac The on while moving setting is just perfect in the sense that the normal cursor remains unobtrusive when the pinpoint highlight is not needed especially for text entry but my gosh what a dream to avoid the now where did I last park the cursor issue once I ve changed screens or simply want to avoid the dreaded seek into a corner inadvertent hot corners activation When the update had a bug customer support answered consistently fast offered a work around that kept me going until the update and the update showed up with a email notice to customers the moment it was in place While this service level is a hopeful expectation with the less cost application vendors Lagente Software sets the standard in service updates and continued product support Could NOT be happier From my experience this is the best most cost effective solution to a vexing problem with no comparable solutions via the Mac OS With the level of support I can t see how you would regret this purchase                     Fantastic product Great attention to customer support Griff450

I run OSX 10 8 4 on a Mac Mini with 16GB and a 1TB fusion drive I have two Dell U3011 monitors One via the thunderbolt Dual link adapter and one via the Startech USB3 to Displayport Both monitors run at 2560x1600 Finding the cursor was a nightmare PinPoint provides a fullscreen crosshair cursor that I could not live without I can always find the cursor and I can line things up across the two displays I migrated to the Mini from a dead Mac Pro with two adapter cards I was concerned that the USB Adapter might give PinPoint trouble but it worked like a charm I am not sure that I am the typical PinPoint customer but I am certainly an appreciative customer Wonderful product Responsive and competent support staff A class act all the way                     One feature makes it all worthwhile Pennylynn45

I was a little reluctant when I saw the 4 99 price tag but I m glad I took the plunge anyway There were so many positive reviews lauding the customer service of this company that I was willing to pay the five bucks since it seemed like a quality product I needed a mouse pointer that would help me locate the cursor on the screen when using Microsoft Word I change the screen to blue to write and I could never find the mouse when I needed to select text What I love about this app is that I can toggle it on and off and I can select to have a glowing circle appear around my mouse when I move it and only for a second and it goes away when the mouse is still Some of the images make it look like the mouse animation or graphics need to be there all the time and that s not true I also LOVE that I can toggle the effects on and off The program toggles show right in the menu bar at the top of your screen so next to the Wifi meter and the battery so it couldn t be easier to toggle on when I m in Word and off when I m in something else Definitely worth the money Love it so far                     Very handy and user friendly Brigid Kemmerer

I downloaded several programs like tihis before find this little gem It allows control over so many features perfect for my needs Since I had loaded another program similar to this a conflict was created that crashed my Mac Book Pro i7 I began freaking out so I worte the program and received a response within an HOUR He was very helpful and did not give up Over the next couple days we emailed back and forth with links for tests and a very through list of things to experiment that might resolve the issue The problem was all my creation I love this program it certainly does what it promises and the support behind it is impressive                     FNATASTIC A MUST have if you run two monitors Giaco51

After months of trying to figure out why it wouldn t save my settings PinPoint is finally working perfect on my iMac again It s always worked on my MBP but the iMac has never saved any settings ever Back and forth emails with the Dev with suggestions never worked Lagente support was very helpful working with me on this Props to Renaud It s working now after running an installer script from their support page for an old version of PinPoint It uninstalled something but not PinPoint PinPoint is working exactly how it should now And I once again LOVE PinPoint                     Now it s working perfectly thebacklash

I ve been using PinPoint for over a year now to add important real time highlighting to my screencasts at BuildAModule Coupled with a little app called Cursorcerer you can hide your real mouse cursor and just display PinPoint s which is critical for producing the highlighting effects It seems like PinPoint is really filling a void for Mac and I m so glad there s a solution that works                     Something no one else is doing for the Mac Chris Shattuck

An app like this provides something so necessary and basic that it truly should be included in the OS in my opinion The basic arrow in OSX is just dismal for figuring out where your pointer is at any given time Thankfully the guys at Lagente have written an amazing option rich app for enhancing the pointer on your Mac I really like a lot of the pointer option art work and animations and they make your pointer visible even in bright conditions like outside so you can see what you re doing This is also really useful if you re doing a presentation or doing a demo video for showing where you clicked Oh and the tech support is PHENOMENAL I have never before requested support for an app and recieved a reply literally within minutes offering to help me Support like this is very hard to come by I am an app iPhone developer myself and it is especially amazing to get replies that fast Thanks for a well written and well supported app HIGHLY RECOMMENDED                     Great App GregoryMoore

I run a pretty custom setup Mac Pro Imac with 5 x 27 monitors I am prone to lose my pointer often I use the full screen cross hairs on both machines this allows me to find my mouse when it is lost Over time I realized that in this mode Pinpoint leaks memory so I sent in a support request The gentleman responded back to me listented to my concerns and is in the process of working up a fix I don t care if it is a little buggy or leaks memory support like this alone should get you to purchas this app Thanks team                 5 x 27 monitors two machines Pinpoint is a must Tommy Denton

I like this application and held back one star because of a minor inconvenience I discovered I need to quit Pinpoint before I use Time Machine The graphics cards in my MBP are not able to handle both the Time Machine and Pinpoint simultaneously If Pinpoint is left on I get a very sluggish response from Time Machine Minor inconvenience however and easy to quit Pinpoint So four stars                 Good and useful but conflicts with Time Machine Ol' Mike

Terrific but for three things Some of the options are brilliant e g full screen crosshair large arrow but the majority of them are forgive me tacky Subtlety and very restrained taste are required to keep something so ubiquitous from becoming irritating I d rather the app were a sys pref with the option to display in the menu bar rather than a menu bar only app But finally the thing that actually matters which I d bow scrape and throw rose petals in the developers paths to get would be similar treatment of the insertion point For those of us who do nearly everything with keyboard shortcuts the pointer isn t really the issue I lose the insertion point every five minutes I must rapidly tap a hundred times a day It s maddening                 If Only sadsadstory

There are several options available for customizing your cursor but PinPoint does it very well and at a fair price It features a very friendly interface while offering a large variety of customizing options All designs are well thought out and nicely crafted Although PinPoint includes a large selection of cursor designs it also provides the option to add your own Each can have infinite variations of size color transparency and motion where appropriate There are several options with adjustable delays for triggering the PinPoint cursor on and off The developer is very responsive and appears genuinely interested in maintaining and growing PinPoint Feedback is graciously accepted I fully expect it to gain more features and functionality over time There is nothing to lose here UPDATE Although PinPoint still serves me well at home I cannot use it at work behind a proxy server The developers says that the app s connecting to the App Store is Apple s code and they cannot fix the problem This is interesting since none of my other App Store purchases have this problem If you are behind a company firewall you may want to skip this app                     A Good Utility Nicely Done Jus' Groovin'
