Helpful for syncing my academic papers and notes Integration with goodreader is great                 Works well happy with performance
Perfect companion for bibdesk it parses both static and smart groups                 Perfect companion for bibdesk
PocketBib is a stellar example of supporting the open source community inside the Apple ecosystem Amazing both can play well together The app works flawlessly on my iPad Air and iPhone 6 My only gripe and the problem could be external to PocketBib is that until a few weeks ago if I opened a PDF saved on Google Drive from PocketBib into GoodReader and annotated it GoodReader offered an option to save it back to Google Drive Eventually PocketBib would notice the document had been updated I miss the save it back feature in GoodReadernot sure where it went I would like to see two features 1 ability to force refresh linked docs sometimes PocketBib wont notice that a linked doc has been modified and yes I set cache to zero and 2 ability to fold subfoldersitems in Bibtex keyword hierarchy Thanks again for a fantastic app I use it every day Josh              Thank you for a great app
I can highly recommend this for anyone who uses Jabref or BibDesk to manage their BibTeX PDF references The keyword search and ability to group references in a single BibTeX file are very useful additions                 Very useful app that keeps getting better
This app is honestly one of the most useful productivity apps I have in my arsenal It seamlessly works with my desktop Bibdesk app and it stores my entire library of journal articles in one convenient place Graham is also a very responsive and involved developer Ive emailed him countless times and he has always been super helpful I highly recommend this to every academic in the iOS world and to anyone who likes to keep references and pdfs nice and tidy                 Stellar application
Does exactly what I want holds my entire database and associated files and allows me to share them easily with other And the developer is steadily improving it with every release                 Great app committed developer
This is just what I need it Keep it up                 Very nice application
Cool app I love integration with opensource flexible stuff like bib files I am about to write a thesis which is why I bought it I wish I could add entries directly on the iPad That would be a nice thing to think about developers Good job so far Dropbox integration is great                 Super Wish I could
Fantastic App Resilient to all kinds of changes made through the Internet                 PocketBib
This app provides a wonderful interface to browse and search your bibtex database on iPhone providing what many bibtex and BibDesk users have desired for a long time Works great in Dropbox now I have access to my db and all PDF papers from both my phone and through bibdesk on my laptop Great for pulling up random papers and facts at lab meetings My only improvement suggestion at this point is ability to view comments on PDF files made in skim as they can be easily viewed in bibdesk                 Slick and very well done
This is excellent software and the responsive dev seems committed to supporting the app Now that you can edit entries and keywords now too its borderline perfect and is making my dissertation far more pleasant indeed Highly recommended for heavy bibdesk users and a godsend for reading papers on the go It could definitely use some iOS 7 love though                 Excellent software
I bought an iPad primarily for reading research papers and PocketBib has made it much easier to manage and read my collection                 PocketBib is probably my mostused app
This is one of the most useful apps I have Great job guys                 Great productivity app
If you have a library in BibTex format then this app will allow you to see it on your IOS device                 does what it is intended to do and very well
This app is a very good way together with Dropbox and Bibdesk on you computer to mana papers in a way that makes them easy to access read and annotate on an iPad You have to also have a PDF annotation app such as iAnnotate or GoodReader                 Very useful for the academic to manage papers
No way to create new entry a bit disappointing           Could be better
I like this app but the price is the reason for 4 stars              great app
PocketBib makes a BibDesk bibliography database available on the iPad You can basically carry an entire library of papers with you for offline reading PDFs can be exported to other apps and then reimported with annotations Really an excellent way to carry and read papers                 A musthave app
Works smoothly with BibDesk and Dropbox Displays look good Better search functions would earn it 55 from me A good value now I can easily find and print papers at home              Well integrated
I cannot live without it I have all my references and papers at every meeting I attend This quickly allows me to see if i already have a paper a presenter is referring to Interfaces flawlessly with JabRef                 Just Buy and Use it
Finally an app for the Bibtex Dropbox iPad academic workflow Ive been looking for an app for reading academic papers for months now ever since I bought my iPad but amazingly nothing existed for browsing a directory of pdfs a bibtex file until now This app lets me browse my list of my pdfs which displays all the important details from the bibtex file such as title authors journal etc making it easy to find the file that I want to view This is exactly what I was looking for No crashes works great totally worth the money                 Finally
Combined with Dropbox and Documentsfor editingreviewing this makes reading papers in iPad a great experience                 Must have for every academic
This app performs well concerning showing you items already created in a bibtex database However the entries cannot be edited and new ones cannot be created I believe these are vital features        Aesthetically Pleasing yet Lacking Functionality
I was able to set up a workflow between BibDesk on the desktop and iAnnotate PocketBib on the iPad using Dropbox Very useful You cant actually see the annotations from within PocketBib without flattening the PDFs which I dont want to do since i want to be able to editremove the annotations later but its really easy to navigate to iAnnotate from the bibtex citations themselves so thats not a big deal EDIT after trying out newest version that includes keywords smart and static groups and editable BibTeX fields The developer of this app is amazing After I first bought this app I had a crash and he responded to the bug and fixed it within literally an hour or two Then he added the ability to edit the fields for the bib entries from the iPad which is awesome when you notice a bug in the journal name or want to add a keyword etc This has become a super useful app for my iPad I use it in conjunction with iAnnotate to read and organize hundreds of PDFs stored on my Dropbox account Really a great app especially if you cant stomach the idea of switching to Mendeley I would give this 6 stars if I could                 Very useful app Now with EDITABLE fields
For working with BibDesk files on the iPad this works great but there is a lot more that could be done with ios 8 extensions and or URL schemes to allow for more automation templated output etc Lots of great suggestions on the support site waiting for action nearly six months since last update              Very good but could be better
Allows you to view your bibtex database and open linked PDFs on the iPad I use it every day More editing functionality would be nice but is not necessary                 Great app
I had been an avid Papers user for years prior to their buyout by Springer at which point their quality has gone to total crap I switched my workflow to BibDesk on the desktop and never looked back PocketBib is an excellent companion to BibDesk Having synced my library to Dropbox I never have to bother connecting my phone to a computer as was necessary with the Papers app The price is maybe a bit high if you are just interested in trying it out but for me it has definitely been worth it                 An extremely useful app for a scientist
Yesterday during a vendor demo I could pull out my iPhone grab a thirty year old paper and extract a value from one of its graphs It was so easy because I use bibtek dropbox and this app I make good use of bus time through PocketBib Awesome app and a developer who listens My PhD in biomedical engineering half done now will be better because of PocketBib                 Extremely useful
Forget Papers and Bookends this is the simplest way to manage your Bibliography on iOS Dont settle for applicationrestricted databases that run the risk of losing data Using PocketBib and BibDesk or JabRef both open source is a cheaper alternative to premium apps and work a lot better And with BibTeX you can have peaceofmind knowing you can get your data out and into documents use TeX                 THE Bibliography App for iOS
Ive been using this app for a while now and love it more and more thanks for all the improvements Just noticed one thing I had a corrupted PDF that I replaced but because it is cached the app wont notice it has been changed and wont load the new one Would be great to have the ability to reload PDFs              awesome app one request
This app has a nice clean interface and does almost everything that I want Its a tad expensive but I am very happy I bought it It allows me to store all of my reading in one unified space that I can take wherever I go including planes and other places with no internet The one feature I would like to request is an inapp djvu viewer All the djvu viewers that Ive tried for iPad are terrible including the ones Ive paid for Adding djvu support would make this an even better app                 Great app
I was so excited when I found this app I always wanted to sync my references to iPad Now pocketbib can do all I need Fantastic The only problem is that if the bibtexkey is in Chinese pocketbib would just show a warning and doesnt recognize the entry Im using the autogenerate bibtexkey function in jabRef And Chinese bibtexkey works in xelatex I dont wanna input a new bibtexkey manually for every Chinese entry Not sure if this problem happens in other languages Please fix this Then Ill give a five star              Could be the best
Invaluable for anyone who likes to maintain one or more literature collections and have easy mobile access to it Cant believe how quickly I was setup and had my entire library BibDesk based browsable and editable from my devices So much better than trying to craft your own solution and well worth the 10                 Incredible App
This app is incredible for me since I already maintain an organized PDF linked literature library on my Dropbox It automatically found all of my linked PDFs and the interface is so clean and amazing I am only giving it 4 stars because it needs to include PDF annotation ala GoodReader It allows me to open my files in GoodReader and edit them nod then reupload them but this is very clumsy and annoying Not least of all because it means that my settings cannot stay saved in GoodReader crop settingsetc dont stay saved Another feature I would love is to be able to search more than just title author and abstract Of course these account for 90 of what I would ever search for but I would just like to have the rest of the functionality available These are minor gripes for an amazing tool that is really going to streamline my research Thanks so much for this app              Great Companion for JabRef
Great app Really nice to have on the go PDF linking is nice for quick reading Minus a star for groups not nesting In fact in latest version it doesnt even indent subgroups so cant see structure Plus a star for excellent customer service My ref library was crashing app so contacted dev He had it resolved within 24 hours Also hes clearly adding requested features constantly Please add nested expandablecollapsible groups As well as hierarchical groups as in Jabref where you can click on group and see all articles in subgroups                 Four stars for app 1 for excellent customer service
How about the ability to add new entries to the bib file rather than just the ability to edit existing entries Seems pointless without this functionality        Adding entries
