All this app does is modify the contrast and brightness of a photo it doesnt take depth of field into account at all The developer should be ashamed to call this SLR simulation when all it does is adjust the brightness DOF is such an integral part of SLR Rubbish even as a simulator

I am an advanced photography student and I used this app to teach my girlfriend the basic lighting techniques of slr photography It works great but it could use some more images as well as a small guide for beginners on lighting etc as well as some more complex techniques like blur motion Other than that a great way to practice slr photography Great app

Made it easy to explain these three concepts to my wife The iso image quality reduction concept could use an update for retina Perhaps the DOF could be more exaggerated as well but all in all very decent teaching tool and you cant beat the price Simple

I agree the negative reviewers are idiots This is an excellent little teaching app It is not designed to actually take pictures or to actually edit anything We have used it in our homeschool curriculum and the kids understand immediately The only comment I might have is that it needs a larger set of sample images to work with from different types of photography like closeup or portrait photography But Hey its a free app and for that you cant go wrong Its well written its stable and it does exactly what it says it will do Also the idiot who said it doesnt do depth of field obviously didnt ever even use the app It does depth of field comparisons well excellent needs more examples

Though its a good teaching app the simulator portion makes the user think you would be able to use this on your own camera It should state that this simulator can not be used with the lens on the device Samples are what will be provided Teaching app
The reviews here complaining about how you cant use the simulator to take real photos is like whining about how a flight simulator cant fly real planes Great app even better on the authors website Great tool to learn about proper exposure

This app is a great tool for reviewing three basics of digital photography aperture shutter speed and iso A very nice attempt to help those who need better understanding of these or for reviewing these basics every now and then The app does not take pictures but rather teaches how to take great pictures Great app for learning basics
It used to work fine however now it will not open I have tried deletionreinstall to no avail It was a decent app My guess is the developers have not bothered to update it to be compatible since apple went to iOS 8 It wont load up

I am with all the other people on this one This app has worked with me to help me understand photos and other tools similar to this First of all the people who wrote bad comments didnt write much and have only said lagscrashesand other ridiculous small things like that They are looking at it in a different form than what this app is Negative statements of this app is unneeded
