"Subtitles theEditor" is the absolute subtitle synchronization, editing and translation tool. It uses an advanced synchronization algorithm for the best results. You can provide as many synch points as you want, but 2 are enough. ...
I bought this app about 2 years ago The app hasn t been updated in 5 years That said however it s still the best subtitling app for the Mac It keeps on working and rarely crashes The only downside right now is that it s having trouble loading some video files In particular HVEC H 265 videos which are now supported in High Sierra don t load I ve also had some H 264 videos crash the app The app could use some updating such as a recompile with the latest Xcode and support for HVEC video format There are some small UI changes that would help improve workflow For example the command to remove a subtitle only operates on one subtitle at a time It would be nice to highlight several subtitles and then remove them                 Best Subtitling App for Mac Needs Some Updating araxara
This app easily solves the problem of subtitles going out of sync because of incorrect time mapping in the subtitles Background Subtitle files are actually pretty simple files as they are a list of text each line spoken by a character each with a time start and end during which the line of text appears on the screen Problem if the implied duration of the film is different than the listed times in the subtitles file there s no easy way to fix it except with a program like this Solution 1 Play the film in program of your choice VLC works on everything and note the time of the AUDIO of the first spoken line and it s context e g Here we go 00 002 000 Be careful as if the subtitle is for example one half second late it makes it distracting and harder to enjoy the film 2 Go to end of film and note time with last spoken line or near to last spoken line 3 Open subtitle program and look for the first line Here we go and compare it s begin time with the begin time from step 1 If they are different double click in the start time for that line and carefully change it to match the start time in the actual SOUND from Step one Keep the time format correct there are colons and commas the line number should turn RED if you change the time 4 Do the same as step 3 for the last line it will of course be near the end of the list of subtitles The line numbers of both first and last line should be red 5 In the top center of the app click the button above the word RESYNCH with a circle arrow on it This should proportionally retime all lines of subtext between the first line you chose and the last 6 Save as a new file in case you realy screwed it up 7 Add subtitles in VLC and make sure you pick the right one as it will keep showing all that you ve added including the original mistimed one                 Works great no instruction here s how to fix time drift former sysadmin
I wish I could give this 5 stars If it were just bad I d want to give it one star But it earned minus five by seeming to work well enough that I wasted considerable time trying to figure out the poorly or non documented controls well enough to use it Wasted my time and money Don t make the same mistake     Unusable piece of junk I_Am_Sushi_Chef_Unga!!
Dont know either why this app was getting bashed here and there Mac users don t have a lot of options when it comes to subtitle editing I bought this to re sync subtitles with different time stamps The only apps available for mac users that do this allow you to sync 2 time stamp points to re sync This app allows you multiple as many as you want time stamp points producing a pretty accurate newly synced subtitle file A lot of video files of the same content can run at different speeds and frames as well as extended or decreased times from one scene to another The option for multiple sync points takes care of that Finally i found an app for mac that allows me to re sync subtitles to my liking So far it s worked great If I find future flaws I will post it up here but for now I can say I am a happy customer As far as re syncing subtitles goes don t know about other uses I give it 2 thumbs up                     GREAT FOR SYNCING Movies and Series Collector
What I wanted to do was simple Open a video file import an srt file which contain the transcription files and export to a Quicktime file with subtitles May success with using this software ZERO     An utter piece of poo HBMorrisMarketing
It s fantastic Easy to use and leaves the perfect caption synchronizer is the best I ve used I have used several programs but this is GREAT Use it I recommend not regret Es fantastico Facil de usar y deja el subtitulo perfecto es el mejor sincronizador que he usado He usado varios programas pero este es GENIAL usenlo yo lo recomiendo no se arrepentiran                     wonderful powerful woman
Why didn t I read the reviews This is a very confusing and glitchy app Apple should give us a refund     Groan Talmuid
The app look good but could not manage to use it No help files even the video tutorial on its website is for older version One more thing which is importanat for me it does not support windows 1256 encoding     I could not manage to use it Kdaimati
At first it looked like a decent and simple software but it is just not user friendly It took me 5 minutes to figure out where to add the subtitles the most important feature is almost invisible You re supposed to click on No Selection to enter your text and it doesn t look like a text field I had done most of the work adding subtitles to all the video and I chose the encoding which deleted entirely my work Most buttons don t mean a thing Who ever made this app must review it s price for 0 99 and entirely rethink the user interface and debug     Just not user friendly at all A waste of time and money Characteer
I ve tried them all I ve bought several Although it still has its quirks it s only six bucks and the developer so far seems very receptive to feedback Heck they even went to the effort to write up a big long explanation on a single feature for me rather than include it somewhere on their web page The best thing is it s Mac like At least to me I can t wait to see how this application develops In the mean time it s still my go to subtitle app                 Best Mac Subtitle Editor Yet balthisar
This application crashes every time I attempt to open an SRT that has worked with other applications including Jubler Road Movie Handbrake etc There is no way to contact the author and the manual remains a coming attraction         Good interface but crashes with some files Kaerukun
