The TED Mobile is now available as a free download on Apple Store for both iPhone and iPad owners.The application is supporting English language. It weighs in at only 10MB to download. It is highly advisable to have the latest app version installed so that you don`t miss out on the fresh new features and improvements. The current app version 2.2 has been released on 2014-11-26. Not sure why others are having sound issues but seems to be fine for me Great way to access so much amazing TED content Ability to search by keyword tag or theme Star videos with one click to add to favorites Standard video controls Have not tested AirPlay support Final star will come with retina support Sound works fine for me
I downloaded the videos that I wanted to see but all of those videos said 00 DOWNLOADED Not only that but when I try to play a random video it cuts off and automatically goes back to the description screen What the heck Dont even TRY bother with this app until they fix it Which I doubt they will I should have read the comments before I downloaded I really like TED but this is shameful The other TED app requires iOS 60 which I dont have Horrible

TED content is fantastic but this app is really pointless because it doesnt offer anything more than what the TED site does and the performance is terrible The app doesnt buffer any video so unless you have a very solid data connection you get a few seconds of video at a time before the video stops You then have to hit the play button again Id thought it would buffer some content so if I waited a while before hitting play I could watch for perhaps a minute before running out No such luck The only reliable way to get TED on the iPhone is via iTunes Disappointing

I love TED and I love having in my pocket but how am I supposed to share it with people which is the whole point of having it be mobile if there is no search function The Roku app has the same problem Come on TED the whole point is to be smart slick and accessible Search feature

Im only using this app instead of the official app because the official app wont work on iPod 2nd generation It tends to crash continously when watching 2 videos without closing the app It also lacks a search button which would come in quite handy As well the tags sometimes dont have any connection to the talk itself for example a talk about economics might have the tag Funny when the talk is everything but funny Anyways its the best 3rd party app for TED and even though it works reasonably good its not satisfying at all It could be a lot better

The download to view offline feature doesnt work The app is very sluggish and has crashed a couple times There is no way to search for specific presentations The newest content is from TED 2011 Dont waste your time

The best of the web talks which was added recently never worked for me It tries to start the video but it jumps out of it in a few seconds Some parts dont work

I love TED and this is a really good app but it has a couple things that need to be incorporated It occasionally crashes in the middle of a talk or wont load a talk Also twice it reset my bookmarks so that they were all lost A feature I would really love would be to be able to search for a talk by name or title Right now I can browse through tags and descriptions but a search feature would be very helpful Otherwise I think it is a very good app and I will continue to use it Very good but has a couple issues
Not happy at all I cant get any video to play at all The volume control disappears and the video closes out before it loads Not sure whats wrong but reinstalled multiple times Issues
This app is not even worth it free It promises that the videos have been downloaded but then still needs a connection to the Internet to play them I downloaded them all and then switched off my wifi and 3G and the app did not play any videos You might get fooled into wasting your precious data plan if you depend on this app Do not buy
How come theres no update since august On iOs5 and TED s not working at alll How come theres no undate for months

I have yet to explore Downloading or Watch with Subtitles parts of the latest upgrade but the upfront Totally New Look is a bust Note I am viewing this app on an iPad The opening page background changed from red to black The order of the tabs at the bottom changed Favorites became Bookmarks Talks and Themes index pages are magnified so that the descriptions run off the screen Talks list is now limited to just five talks and no apparent way to view others via this route More exploring to do Latest upgrade is at least in part a bust
