The Iron Horse

Iron Horse is a fun game to pick up on the fly That said it does get repetitive pretty quickly But my biggest frustration is not so much in the gameplay but in the accuracy of the train equipment Great care has obviously been given to the graphicsthe cars and engines as depicted are fantastic But appstar needs to consult some railroad aficionados for their next update the fact that the Zephyr is called the Zephyr is not appropriate to the equipment or time period really The Limited would be much more appropriate given that the train it appears to be mimicking is the New York Centrals 20th Century Limited of North by Northwest fame Even the coaches and engine tender say Central on them The Zephyrs were another type of train entirely But perhaps the biggest frustration is that on the Zephyr consist the game has you placing observation cars rounded ends in the MIDDLE of the consist when really there should only be one that goes on the end of the train in the place of the caboose In fact the Zephyr caboose is just completely inaccurate Its out of time place and realityit would never go on that train Yes these are nitpicking comments on an otherwise fun and entertaining game Most folks wont know the difference But for those of us who do it sure is frustrating especially when so much care has obviously been given to the graphical elements              Fun mindless timekilling entertainment

This simple but fun game is ideal for the kids or young at heart I give it a 5 star rating just for what it is a nice game that you kids will play by the hours an It also teaches coordination with the eye and the hand something all kids can put to good use Also there is no asteroid thumbs or other injuries to contend with                 Simple but fun

I tried the lite version which was ok I figured for under 2 it was worth the upgrade I was wrong It has nice graphics Ill give it that but the game play is not worth even the low price All you do is attempt to connect parked train cars to a moving train The more you connect the faster the train goes and the harder it gets My opinion it gets really hard really fast The first 56 levels are fairly easy but try connecting cars to a train moving at over 100mph Impossible And when you miss 3 times in a single level its game over Kills the fun for me sorry     Eh

This is a nice little game but the game play is fairly simplemindless actually Graphics are cool NOTE you can tap anywhere on the screen so the game work just fine for left or right handed players           Nice but simple

Such a beautiful game but It seems developed for lefties Id love to see an option to reverse the direction of the trains so that I can see where Im clicking better Im sure the updates will keep it improving Thanks              Gorgeous

it really looks great But it is NOT a simulation game It is barely a game at all I play a game with my kids where they try to slap my hand before I take it away Thats the level of gameplay depth we are talking about here I was expecting something that let me play with trains This game could have done the same thing with a string of beads I guess I should have read the description more closely     Looks great thats all

This really has limited game play Basically it is whack a mole but with trains You have to tap the screen just at the right moment to hook up the stopped cars to the moving train not very realistic If you like that sort of game play then this is a fun game with good sound and visuals r nice However I was hoping for something a little more Like Sid Meiers Railroad or something that offers more strategic elements I am hoping for a refund I think if there was a game demo offered it would give gamers a better understanding of game play so they can make an informed decision on to buy or not 2 buyk     Not a lot of game play

Seriously U call this a game Its even worse than an average gameboy game 15 years ago The gameplay is stupid and theres no fun at all If I knew the gameplay and if it were free I wouldnt have considered downloading it The game SHALL never be given more than a 1 star in rating     First time feeling cheated

I am not pleased that levels do not stay saved I can see that i have 4 levels unlocked but when the game is relaunced it goes back to one level unlocked I do not use openfeint so not sure if it is tied to that somehow to save levels Please help i may slit my wirst if I have to keep repeating level 1 much longer        Cannot save levels

I love trains and railroads This is a simple quick reflex game Graphics for trains are very good background graphics are fine A fun game for when you do not want to have to think or make too many decisions              Fun

After connecting 4 trains it wont let you connect anymore They just pass byplease fix My son loves this game and is very disappointed           Stopped working

Thanks for the simple fun I would gladly pay for train packs and it would be awesome if you told us more about the trains themselves                 My kid loves it

The Lite version of the game let you input your name and scores This version is hyping a global community of game players You can only record your scores if you become a member of that community This is a gimmicky disappointment Emailed the developers about this They fixed it so it was an option rather than a requirement And if you opt out your scores are still viewable I would say the developers are a very responsive team With that I moved on to the full version Give this app an Emmy It is beautifully and delightfully conceived and exquisitely executed Anyone who loves trains should not let this one slip through their hands The trains music and scenery are period and place authentic The challengeobjective is to reach a level of play that will reveal a new trainmusicscenery I get so caught up in the overall visual affects and sounds I forget to keep focused on the play Psssst How about a Pause button so I could just soak up the scenery and the train history Thoroughly entertaining Thank you for not just throwing something at the iPad and hoping it would work The developers embraced the technology with creativity and historical spunk                 Absolutely outstanding Worth the cost

This is a great game My kids love it so do my wife and I Great pass time when there is no network connection Alas we had to replace our iPad and the game does not go past the splash screen play button does not work anymore Please update the game to iOS 8 I understand you are not getting further revenue after the initial purchase I would gladly pay 099 for the update May be others would too              Please Release Update for iOS 8

Game does not work It was good in the beginning but no longer works The play button does not function and it appears the company is does not care There have been no updates for a very long time avoid     Iron horse

I have had this game for a long time and never had a bit of trouble with it Since the system went to IOS8 it wont work What can you do about it I rated it a long time agogave it a 4 Not now Kate Salt Lake City     Keeps Crashing

The game is simple to pick up and play but difficult to fully master Youvmust have patience to get your timing just right There is a local offline leaderboard if you do not want to sign up for online tracking Highly recommended many achievements to unlock                 Great Game Right Price

The premise is kind of fun but there needs to be more How about an endless mode How about more gameplay elements Such as a world map where you travel the US upgrading your trains and delivering cargo to earn more money Lots more can be done with the base of this game Also the iPhone aspect ratio is lame Fix it        Kind of fun but needs more

Simple game Lite version has a local scoreboard This one doesnt We dont all like to use online scoring This should be an option then I would give it more stars     No local scoreboard

The graphics caught my eye but man The gameplay is so boring How can you be expected to hold anyones attention for more than a minute     Boring

This is not worth paying for regardless of price Every time you exit the game it makes you start over again at level 1 no matter how far you had gotten previously I got this for my 2 year old because he loves playing the game but now hes just frustrated and so am I     Stupid

If you are a rail fan and like trains in real life youll be frustrated by the premise of the game to make rolling stock connections while the train is in motion As other reviewers have said theres no variety in game play Save your money Do no buy this game     Not for rail fans

This app is an excellent start for something really great but needs a lot of enhancing Connecting cars on the fly is not realistic but the graphics and music are excellent I think that the jolt that takes place after the cars connect is pretty neat Sounds and feels like the real thing Im looking forward to some great updates to this program                 Train Lover

Fantastic game a visual treat along with a good progressive challenge My levels that I unlocked wont stay opened like a lot of the other reviewers please fix That being said this is one beautiful game Thanks                 Love This game
