I get the daily times dispatch here at the house This app allows me to get current updates and news I can then at my leisure read items that serve my interest in my delivered newspaper The best of two worlds Thanks                 Love this app

This app could be so much more of course Id like to see it cover all sections of the paper including national and international news the home garden section and the Commentary section of the Sunday edition           Its Ok

Timely breaking news plus the regular news columns makes this a winner I also like the subject tiles                 Great app

Great free Ap So much so that I wonder why I should subscribe I want RTD to be in business into the future Why not limit some stories to subscribers only If I am missing content here Im not aware of it                 RTD you are giving too much away for free

App works really well updates quickly and automatically and provides you with current uptodate news for RVA the state and the nation              Great App

Either they cant find any news or they cant find a way to post it RTD you are not the only gig in town I will find my RVA news somewhere else     Worst news app ever

The news updates are sporadic at best Sports coverage is less than 50 for most teams and about 25 for the Flying Squirrels Just an all around poor effort goes into daily coverage of events What is occasionally briefly covered is inadequate for a paidsubscribers app Alsowhy not update the selected stories        Poor Updates

Really like the news alerts through the day The iPhone version organizes the topics stories well I like that the tablet version is an exact replica of the paper                 Handy App

Even though Im a subscriber its difficult to get full content through this app For one I constantly have log in Dont have to do that when accessing the paper through a browser        Bah

I used to use the ap for op Ed page Italong with sports vanished So not much desire now to use it Cmon rtd        Op Ed vanishing act

Im not sure what all the raves about the new app are about I think its a step backwards By the way this is a generic news app that lots of other papers use not something specific to the Times Dispatch Saw the same app for a Denver Colorado paper The previous app seemed a bit more custom but I may be wrong about that Either way there are a few issues 1 The biggest issue notifications when clicked dont open to the story the notification was about You need to go hunting for the story that the notification referred to Lousy 2 I get update badges the red circle with a number on it on the icon in iOS but for the life of me I cant tell what theyre for or how to clear them out I see a 2 but when I start up theres no specific messages or breaking stories that this badge would refer to Reading certain stories will mysteriously clear the badge but the app gives no indication as to what the badge actually means Very disjointed 3 There is NO way to customize notifications and that stinks I do not care about high school athletics or politics in Goochland Yet my phone buzzes and alerts on stories like this just as if there were breaking important news All other news apps at least give you an option to filter notifications by category That feature is severely lacking in this app 4 Wow that new icon is hideously ugly but I blame the RTDs new website for that as well Ugly ugly ugly Fire your web designers Seriously So not a 1 because the news is there and its one of the few local news apps for Richmond But not great by any means and a step back from the old app        I guess Im the only one who doesnt like the new app

I am a news junky and have quite a few news apps The Times Dispatch is not up to par with others The app has very limited news coverage You must go to the full site for many stories        Not a fan

I have been a loyal RTD subscriber for over 10 years but sometimes I need to read the news via this app especially due to my business travel schedule It is awful unreliable and devoid of functionality You should be ashamed RTD This is a huge waste of time     App is Aweful

The iPhone version of the RTD app is great They should use this version as a template for making an iPad version that works just as well              RTD iPhone version
