I needed something to track expenses for my six month adventure in South America It had to be simple enough to enter all little things throughout the day At the same time it had to have features to categorize expenses and good interface to visualize everything I tried a few apps and found this app to be the winner It s super simple to add expenses and gives me all that I need to track my budget I got used to the app so much I kept using it for my daily expenses after my travel I have a nice little breakdown of all expenses at the end of the year The only feature I wish the app had was the ability to copy an old expense item and add it to a new date Would make the recurring monthly expense tracking so much faster Thanks guys No hassle travel or daily expenses BlueMonk1
I m pretty good at budgeting during trips it s day to day life that I falter I wanted an app to track my daily extravagances on coffee shops and happy hours and pizza deliveries when I should be cooking good old fashioned meals at home All the expense trackers I searched were way too inclusive and had such boring interfaces THIS ONE however was instantly fun and happy and didn t try to monitor every household expenditure It was super easy to figure out as well as to modify categories to suit exactly what I was looking for I created a Trip titled Life October input start and end dates adjusted my category headings and diligently recorded every time I ate out or got groceries When I used up the first 25 free entries I gladly paid for the unlimited upgrade And at the end of the month I now have a lovely pie chart that tells me that I spend as much on happy hours w friends as I do on monthly groceries I think I ll have to work on that Life November is currently in progress and I have a feeling this pie chart will look more balanced when it s done Also I can t wait to use it on my next real trip New favorite App Jpinob
I learned how to use this app in a couple of minutes then was on my way to keeping track of money being spent on my vacation Every time I pay for something I easily log it into my phone in the categories I want the moment it is spent No more keeping receipts to log in later forgetting what I spent my money on I have a moment by moment record of how my vacation spending is going which gives me a chance to stay in budget Thanks for developing a perfect budgeting app Easy to use easy to learn Tam2259
This app is just what travelers needed It s so easy to use love the simple interface and the display of your data and being able to export and backup Great way to keep track of your finances when traveling with categorization and comparison to budget It s got a few settings you can adjust which is nice categories currencies etc What would take this app to the next level is allowing users to share a trip since some people share split costs and being able to indicate that on certain expenses would be great Great work on the development of this app Thank you What we ve been waiting for Player of Trivia

I tried a few similar apps and ended up purchasing the full version of this one to use during a year of travel I use it daily and find it easy and intuitive I wish I could export the pie graph graphic to my blog as Id love to share my numbers and publicize the app but in the meantime I can make a graph on my own from the csv export Best of its kind
I am currently on a 6 month long RTW trip There are 5 apps I use that i cant live without on my trip and Trail Wallet is one of them the others are Viber Evernote Facebook Messenger and google maps I used to track expenses in a notepad or on an excel sheet But this app is the best and made my life so simple Cannot recommend it enough Get it TRAVELERS this is my top travel app
I just downloaded it and really like it I also use mint but this is more effective when just trying to see how much within a trip are you spending Totally recommend it and glad I found it Quick Simple Effective
Have been looking for a decent application that doesnt require an accounting degree I use it for tracking money spent on several vacation trips a year in the camper This one does the work for you Makes keeping an eye on things simple so you can enjoy the trip not spend a lot of time doing the math You can customize the categories colors and edit everything anytime VERY easy to use The only improvement is the color combinations are a little hard to read need better contrasting colors In any event its a keeperfinally I like it so much I bought all the add on packages Very fast application and requires no sign in or internet which is great when you are in off the grid locations Update After almost a year I still love it for travel 5 Stars again This One

This app is amazing Its so easy to use You can have a separate folder for every trip I did buy the 399 upgrade which you need to do after 25 items but its worth it Its helped me track every expense through my European trip and Im never wondering where did that cash go You should get it for sure And its quite funny as well with the cartoon girl saying sassy comments after entering an expense The best travel budget app ever

I tried to separate my expenses by trip name It adds the expense to both trips and inflates my spending amount Glitches
I also encountered the same issue as other users but I WROTE THE DEVELOPERS and found out that theres an easy fix just go to TripsSettings and press Restore Purchases No one has to pay for the app again The developer says theres a more permanent bug fix on the way I love the new characters and the new look of the app and the customer service behind the app is outstanding Liked it before but love it now
EDIT Tapping around I found how to backdate entries and corrected my expenses So 5 stars Thank you Original review Feb 27ish 2015 So far so good THANK YOU for making this app However if I miss a day or dont complete my expenses for that day I need to go back access that day and finish filling it out Right now I cant do that Add that ability and you get 5 stars Thanks Need to be able to add to previous days
Just got back from Asia for the first time with my wife Had no idea what expenses would really be We used mileage point and negotiated hotels but had no way of tracking it all Dude Currency conversions So I know how much stuff REALLY costs Categories so I know where the mileage points should go Transportation is hands down the biggest expense thanks to this app now I know Reports now that its tax time Man I just love this app for any trip that extends multiple days Frankly 6 stars if I could

Used on a recent international trip Loved it Simple clean interface All the necessary functions Great csv export format for use in submitting expenses for reimbursement Would love to see the inclusion of popup calendar with day names when selecting start and end trip dates along with ability to autoinclude home currency in every trip currency list The themes are a nice touch too Really useful personal travel expense tracker
I downloaded this app a couple of weeks ago and used it for my last two trips This is an excellent app for frequent travellers who need to keep an eye on their spending What I love about it is the ability to add my own categories and multi currency entries I would love to see in the future updates is the facility to email a completed trip expense as a bill invoice I can export them as csv file and edit it but I would love to generate the final bill right from the app itself 5 stars for a very well done app Excellent app

I consider myself a seasoned traveler who always does a decent job of managing my travel budget That usually last for two days however with Trail Wallet I am doing a superb job of managing my budget in every country and city I spend money in It has a well designed user friendly interface that practically does all the thinking for you Its actually a lot of fun to use and takes seconds to update Being able to backup to the cloud takes the worry out of losing all the data in case you lose your phone The workflow logic prevents you from accidentally adding expenses to trips with different setup dates By the way I love being able to have different trips I was also pleasantly surprised to see you can have multiple Tags Anyone who uses Quicken knows the importance of adding classes Trail Wallet calls them Tags Exporting to a CSV and filtering will allow allow you to breakdown expenses by Tag this is great when there are multiple travelers using one budgetyou can track individual expenses Great job guys Thank you Love this App

I got this app to help keep track of expenses on a European trip which involved three different currencies Its easy to use and I love that you can enter expenses in whatever currency is on the receipt and it converts for you The categories are helpful and the history timeline is excellent To budget the trip I created a test trip and entered everything I could think of including airfare ground transport hotels food etc and it was accurate within a couple hundred dollars for a 19day vacation The app made that much easier to do Also being able to a add a note to define the expense helped with journaling the vacation Highly recommended Dont leave home without it

I have used my iPhone for many years to track expenses while traveling for work or vacation Over the years Ive used a variety of apps but Ive had to give up all the others when the developers stopped supporting them This app continues to improve and has one of the cleanest interfaces and best degrees of customization that Ive ever come across While the theme characters and their comments on my ability to keep to a budget are a bit annoying wish they could be turned off all the other featuressuch as tagging exporting to CSV managing multiple currencies and destinations in the same trip etcare so useful and well done that I can easily bear this minor issue This app currently incorporates all the features Ive ever had or hoped for in previous expense appsI cant wait to see what new features Ill be surprised with in future updates An excellent tool

I travel a lot during the year and I love this app for keeping track of my spending especially in different currencies It is a great tool for setting budgeting goals for yourself and being able to track your progress It has helped me determine how much I will need to budget for the future and has helped me know when I needed to save money in the past I am not a super fan of the new graphics but the same features are prominently displayed that I use on a daily basis Not only when I am abroad but also when I am at home trying to save to go on the next trip Keeps me on track

This app is excellent for travel expense tracking Ive been using it religiously for over a year of travel and will continue to use it as long as I stick to an iPhone The ability to manage multiple currencies on a multinational trip set up more than one trip and see averages is priceless Editing entries pre and postdating entries is easy and critical for keeping an accurate record of spending The newest version is even better with the function of seeing all entries per category I had a little trouble with the new version not recognizing me as a paid user but I restarted my phone and the app then worked without problem Highly recommend this for anyone sticking to a budget traveling or not Best budgeting app there is
