USA Road Atlas

I challenge anyone to find an iPad equivalent to Microsoft Streets and Trips All I want to do is plan a road trip and to be able to plot my route on the iPad and show POIs along the way S and T would also let me put in a start time and it would show where I would be at lunch time or where I needed to stop and fill up for gas based on my cars mpg This program is practically useless        Seems way too cumbersome

Ive found this fast and reliable for finding something quickly while offline and studying an area I am or might visit The base maps are scaled very nicely for an iPad and I especially appreciate the metro coverage Well worth the nominal cost and just as important the space it occupies                 Very useful and a great value

I just threw away 14 This app is garbage Waypoints are by as the crow flys Limited points of interest with NO information about them No instructions Difficult to impossible to use     Terrible app

I have had this app for a year and I love it When we travel we use the GPS and I like to follow along on my IPad I use it at home to plan our overnight hotel stays It is the best app on my IPad Definitely worth every penny                 Great

I purchased this map for use offline in my semi its an absolute must have Instead of a huge page turning how does this fold wheres page 102 which ways up I wish this would zoom in paper map I use this the quality accuracy and ease of use is brilliant Ive bought and tried a wide variety of map apps all fall short in quality use or practicality so are deleted Ive tried both cheaper and more expensive maps but this one is a keeper and the price is excellent Some people have written reviews stating it doesnt show street level read the sales pitch it states it doesnt show street level although a huge majority of streets are shown and named it does exactly what it claims to its a road atlas if you travel the highways then you need this app BUY IT NOW YOU WONT BE SORRY                 Absolutely excellent

I downloaded the HEMA app primarily because I use their road atlas and wanted a companion I could quickly pick up and not have to turn pages or take my eyes off the road too long I found the map store in the App that allowed me to download regional topographical maps I used it this Weekend while off roading and it is quite easy to use and kept up with the terrain I was traversing The maps loaded quickly and my position was centered all the time even though we were out of cell range I am now going to look for a mounting solution for the iPad and keep this app running while on the trail Definitely worth the 10                 Perfect for off roading or coast to coast

This nothing like a paper road map Only main roads are showenno county road This would be useless on a trip I want my money back     Road map

Not only does it lack detail it is years out of date DO NOT BUY THIS PRODUCT You are better off spending your money on paper maps     The Worst

This is the worst mapping app I have ever purchased If I wanted a picture of a paper map I could have taken my own picture What a waste of money I would throw 1000 in the trash before I would buy this app again     Hema

Ik just bought this app but I didnt like it the details are not good enough I wish I could get refunded There us mo lite version available to evaluate it This is a scanned map no details zooming in doesnt work well     Didnt like it

Crashes repeatedly Detail on maps is too low to be useful Routing is slow due to manual placement of waypoints Ive had better success with Google maps        Not what I hoped for

The maps dont have any side streets only shows main roads Dont purchase this app you will not like it     DONT BUY THIS

This app is just what it says it is a road atlas I travel all over the eastern US and have two GPSs running I dont always take the route they give me and I am not online to use Maps I used to use a spiral bound printed atlas where the overall USA map did not have enough detail so I would try to flip pages to determine my general route and to be familiar with what was near what With this program on my iPad I can see exactly the detail and area I want which makes it much easier to plan my trips                 Perfect companion for GPS

What a waste of money For half the price you can get a REAL atlas with inserts population numbers points of interest etc     garbage

It would be nice to have more than just the main roads on this map Most often when I need a map it is not for the main highways but the back roads Hopefully there will be an upgrade available soon           Disappointed

This app is a MUST on a trip We traveled a 1900 mile scenic trip from Oakland Ca to Seattle WA and used this map the entire trip We traveled up the Calif coast back to Interstate 5 then to Crater Lake From there back to the Oregon coast up to Portland then on to Seattle On the Ipad we could track exactly where we were Paper maps are no longer needed Once we got to a city or area where we needed to view the side streets we used the GPS on our phone Highly Rated and NO MORE PAPER MAPS YEA Ron Wood                 GREAT

This does exactly what I want it to do and that is act like the paper maps I would normally carry I dont use the gps function so that isnt reviewed Of course it does not go to street level neither do the paper maps Congrats on a fine simple app                 Great Map for offline use

There are a few things I like about this app principally the ability to record an exportable gpx file of my track I also found the HEMA base map to be quite accurate given the scale and appreciated the backcountry roads shown If more details then the base map are needed additional maps sets can be downloaded although cashing is limited I would like to see the ability to over zoom with the base map                 Pro Features

This is a great map app Like other 5star reviews have stated the bad reviews are by people that do not understand the concept of an atlas This is not a GPS navigation app If you wanted a navigation app you should have bought a navigation App This is a great map app with lots of great features Sometimes I like to look at a good old fashioned atlas Or I want to look ahead and see alternative routes What cities are ahead Etc just like an old atlas did but in digital format I have 23 good navigation apps when I need to get to an exact address When I want to map my route thus is my only go to app                 Great Dont listen to ignorant bad reviews

I use this app on my iPad when we travel and it works very well No need for my big road map book anymore                 I like it

Its just ok I wanted to use it for tracking while flying Doesnt give great detail Microsoft streets is much better but doesnt work on an iPad        Mr happy

The reviews which whine about the fact that these maps dont have every little street simply dont understand the concept of an atlas An atlas is meant for navigating between cities not for trying to find Grandmas culdesac Just as one would purchase paper street maps to go with a paper atlas one downloads digital street maps to complement this atlas Because this app uses a custom skin on the proven MemoryMap app the user has access to the MemoryMap Digital Map Shop Even better if one already has the regular MM app as I do any licenses activated for that app also work with this one so alreadypurchased maps can be transferred into the HEMA app and used with the atlas Overall its a very good and useful app                 Great

Rather disappointed a rough looking map and too cluttered No ability to include or exclude items shown on the map For 1000 I expected a more polished mapping program     mhughes

This is the best USA Atlas I have found and I have tried many It does what its supposed to do It answers most of your questions What lake is that How high is that mountain Where are the main highways It gives you the BIG Picture Its not a city turn by turn app Get Tom Tom for that Between the two apps you have everything you need for offline navigation                 The Best Atlas Map Available

Rubbish The iPad comes with a great street navigation app called Maps The problem and it is a big problem is that the maps are not resident on the iPad and have to be downloaded from the Internet as you go and that means via 3G data You cant even download the maps you need for a particular route in advance My GSM account is outside the US and recently it cost me 200 to use Maps for 4 hours in New York City It is possible to have the whole country or even a whole continent downloaded to the device and we know this because Microsoft has a program called Streets and Trips Autoroute in Europe which does just that on my laptop without consuming vast swathes of memory US Road Atlas does not zoom down to street level and it does not reside on the device The market is crying out for an app which does on the iPad what Streets and Trips does on the laptop but noone is paying attention either that or its an issue of copyright which Microsoft has solved but others cant Apps arent expensive but time is valuable and unfortunately mediocrity is rife Its a nice looking highway atlas as long as you are connected to the Internet but so is the Maps app Theres just no point     USA Road Atlas

This has a lot of potential that is clearly not been reached As others have said there is not much past larger roads and highways The Topo I wanted only consisted of the lower half of the state It has also shut down a handful of times on me I hope to see some updates in the future that might change my mind about this appfor now I would pass        Mehits ok

Nice highway app but pretty useless inside of cities or when using back roads I was expecting more for 999 Very disappointed     Needs more detail

All of the other good reviews are spot on I meanits a real USA Road Atlasjust like the paper book onesonly better You can set routes reroute if necessary the same route check mileage within a route check certain insets for a major city change route line colors and line types and much more I just love it and cant believe that I dont miss the paper book one that alwaysgets wet tornup lost in the car outdated etcbut surprisingly I dont miss it                 Awesome

I have over 200 apps and regrettably must say this is by far my biggest disappointment It is virtually unusable     USA Road Atlas

This app fills a gap in my present map app collection We often travel out of cell phone range and having an offline road atlas that works well with the GPS is just what I needed I tested the app in a rural area with spotty cell coverage where Google Maps is slow to load or doesnt load at all This map showed the main roads in the area and my position on the roads as I travelled along with an arrow indicating my direction of travel Scrolling is quick and fairly smooth No it doesnt have every street While more detail would be nice this app is just what it represent to be a mobile USA road atlas Road atlases for the entire country generally do not have a lot of detail It was a nice surprise to find that the app came with a credit to download USGS topo maps all levels for one state for free You can download sections of the topo maps relative to a GPS location to be cached for offline access You can purchase additional licenses to download topo maps on their website I like this app better than some other topo map apps I have purchased I also like the road atlas map and can see myself using it often on my travels this year              Fills a Need for Me
