This is THE MOST functional workout log app Ive come across I start by inputting my workout program days and save the routines which can take a little while but in the end is totally worth it After that I just sit back and input numbers while I listen to music in between sets Beats carrying around a pen and paper and the app can display charts of progress once you have enough data in Some sort of cloud storage feature would be nice but the fact that I can email workouts to myself is satisfactory and will ensure I dont completely lose my data in case something happens to my iPod Contacted developer with a problem that was my fault and he helped me figure it out within 24hrs Update thanks for updates especially the exercise moving bug Still training with this app                 Great app hidden gem

Writing reviews for apps is tricky Most of the folks creating apps do so in their spare time so as far as I am concerned what separates the men from the boys in this arena is not the apps themselves although the function of the app does obviously matter but the customer service and postdevelopment followup Enter Workout Diary Pro Not only is this app really well conceived and executed but the creator is a workhorse He has been very quick to address little bugs here and there His timely attention to the little details is reason enough for me to give this program my highest recommendation I have full confidence that whatever needs to be done to keep this app fresh and functional the developer will do How often can you say that about app developers As for Workout Diary Pro itself this app is tremendous Mind you this is not a fitness app for beginners who cannot tell you a pushup from a pushdown If you are looking for a fitness diary with all sorts of videos and nifty photos of body parts and body charts look elsewhere On the other hand if you are looking for a functional workout journal that is customizable intuitive and fast then this one is for you This app does not offer landscape mode but trust me when I tell you that you would not want it It works best in bookmode You can customize all the usual things such as sets and reps and weight units But you can also customize the size of your commentnote fields which is great for days when you need larger amounts of space for detailed notes about how you are feeling your diet how your body responds to new workouts etc For some athletes this sort of information is very helpful so its nice to have some flexibility in this feature The option to save your own workouts is also available in this app which is nice There are some good preset programs that come with the app but lets face it some days you have a really great session and its nice to be able to save that workout to the apps database in order to be able to load your personal routine whenever you like The option to move sets around within a workout change their order as well as move entire workouts to other days on a calendar are features that are available with Workout Diary Pro You can have multiple workouts on the same day as well Workout Diary allows you to track and trend your progress too which I really love and find very motivating In short this program is perfect for the athlete that wants a workout journal that has no fluff and is all about function and not so much about gimmicks bells and whistles As for function since I began using the diary over a month ago the programmer has worked with me to weed out the inevitable bug or two I find this to be totally refreshing In putting the app through its paces I discovered some minor glitches along the way The developer welcomed my feedback and fixed the bugs fast In addition to fixing said bugs he has even made a few changes to the app changes that I suggested How awesome is that Andrew has been nothing short of terrific Great programmer great app I think its the best out there                 The Best I Have Found
