Light Box Loupe is the easy iOS solution for proofing and saving film negatives (and reversal film) in real-time. Light Box Loupe allows you to take advantage of the iOS device`s large screen and imaging capabilities ...
The description states this app allows you to see the images as if a proof print were made It is immediately evident when using the app that the above statement is untrue and that the claimed capabilities of the app are all either false or grossly overstated     Not at all a useful tool for viewing negative film
Totally agree with first review This app doesnt DO anything except give you a white screen when you touch the light box function button And worse there is absolutely NO instructions anywhere that I have tried to find to explain how to use the app Incredibly misleading unless Im totally missing something     Is this a joke
First the people who wrote the negative reviews didnt try very hard I also imagine they may not know what a analog light table is There is a little gear icon Tap it and you get a menu with N INV and LB N gives you a plain loupe that magnifies your negative or whatever you point it at INV inverts the camera so it produces a NEGATIVE image Point it at a negative and you get a POSITIVE image Voila LV turns the screen white so you can use it as a LIGHTBOX The app works best by installing it in two devices I used an ipad and an iphone 6 I set the iPad to LB and use it as a light box Which means you lay the ipad down flat an put a negative or positive on it Open the app on the iphone and select N to look at the negative normally Honestly a good loupe is more useful for this Set the iphone to INV and the magic happens You get a very good positive age of your neg definitely better for a quick check than a contact proof Works with BW and Color film Its a great app Shortcomings You cant take a picture of your proof although you could take a screen grab It has trouble holding focus up close so you have to pull back a bit Worth the 2 i spent on 2 copies              Works EXACTLY as described best with two devices
An update to my previous review The 11 version is now working on my iPad and phone with iOS 9 The app works as advertised and is useful to quickly peek at a pile of negatives I use the iPad in light table mode and view the negatives with the phone The camera view is a bit laggy I suppose the invert filter is causing the lag So holding the phone very steady is required Otherwise this app works like a champ              Works just like I imagined it would
